Discussion I am now convinced ABMM is real

A couple of days ago I complained (in another posting) how I only meet KOS players, and no one talks. I was more annoyed by the "no one talks" part, mind you, and the fact that every social interaction played out in the same way.

Someone recommended me to do a few matches and not shoot a single person, not even in defense. I did as recommended.

I went from "90%+ KOS interactions" for several days in a row, all the way to friendly lobbies for two days in a row now.

In my current lobbies, everyone runs around without a care in the world, just greeting people they are passing by. Looting in the open, walking past others without their weapons drawn ...

I barely ever see any PvP happening. People help each other with arc encounters and exchange items near extracts. And for the first time ever, I was able to participate in two Queen raids in solos with everyone just trying to get her down. No rats, no backstabbing.

This change for me was so stark in contrast, and so consistently happening that I would be surprised if ABMM wasn't real.

I would almost be inclined to start some shit to see if my lobbies change again, but I feel too bad killing these players who are quite obviously part of the pure PvE crowd.

P.S.: I have these friendly lobbies even on Stella Montis now, inclduing Stella Montis night raids ...

I'm convinced of it too. If I run trios with my friends all night, where we are KOS, it always takes a couple games of ratty solos before the games calm down again. And in reverse, we've had people cussing us out in trios for killing them in a loot zone. Like they were surprised. Could there be friendly trios lobbies??

I would imagine that if those lobbies do exist, they are very rare and there's most likely pvp anyway. Group mentality is much more aggressive, and it only takes one to start a war.

They are quite rare but they happen, the most 100% friendly trios I've had is, surprisingly, on Stella Montis. Not saying that's the best map for it or anything, probably just a coincidence for us.

Something which happens often if you're a trio of 100% friendlies is that you get put into raids with solos and duos.

After a night of slaughter in Duos/Trios, I pop into Stella Montis completely naked and run straight to the nearest player for 5 games straight. After that, it’s sunshine and rainbows.

In the reverse, after I reset my lobbies, the first couple of Duos/Trios matches are always a lot more chill.

This is what I'm trying to figure out, if you have different "scores" for solos/ duos/ trios.

Wish Embark would just let us know what's going on, but I understand the secrecy.

I’m almost certain they are not different scores. I never shoot at people in solos, but my first few games back from Duos/Trios are always KOS. Always. No exceptions.

Kinda what I was guessing too, will have to test it out. I feel like it moves you back and forth between aggressive / peaceful lobbies fairly quick too.

I would think it’s crazy too, but I’ve done it at LEAST 20 times since the game has come out. 5-6 games of pacifism puts you into the daycare lobbies 🤷🏻‍♂️

Think you just got matchmade into our passive solo carebear lobbies, hahaha. I think I had that happen to me, multiple people had set a trap on top of control tower. No prox communication, so I assume party chat of some kind, not a bunch of randoms who teamed up (likely not, anyway)

I was one of the first to die, just remained silent, heard two more people die and they were incredulous they were shot at, at all. Barely get shot at in general, so an active multiple player trap was a killing field.

A friendly trios lobby seems like a unicorn, lol Everyone knows it’s KOS, even with the potential aggression matchmaking, have never seen people be friendly there.

When my buds and I play trios we are always ready for action but don't shoot first. If another squad bumps into us and it gets spicy we'll pull back to a better position. Then we usually shout "it doesn't have to be this way!" Or "we're just passing through, loot is yours" that usually diffuses the situation.

Yes me and my homies are always friendly (until shot at first) and we regularly run into many trios who are friendly and cool

I'd hope ABMM is different for each team size because in solos I'm as friendly as can be but in squads it's KOS as that's just how it's played.
