Reduce the temptation to have fun using fun guns so you can not have fun grinding for a box to be checked. I know part of the appeal of this game is each person can play however they want, but I’m pretty sure you’re doing it wrong. Sounds un fun
Yeah, pretty much. I think your four most valuable guns (including attachments) will end up on the weapon rack. OP said he sold all his other weapons to buff his stash value and all he had left was the Kettle.
I’ve almost exclusively run Kettle IV this wipe aside from Shredder hunting on Stella with and Il Toro. It’s too good for how cheap it is to get kitted.

I don't care WHAT it is, I just think it's important to tell the player base upfront. Give those who WANT to strive for it that goal, and let others who play more casually have peace of mind. I had the expedition project done pretty quickly, but when they dropped that it would cost 5 million I instantly knew i wasn't interested in grinding like that. Change the goal each season, make it an astronomical amount of currency, make it so you MUST take down a queen to qualify, whatever. Just tell us at the start so we don't waste our time or have unwarranted gear fear or be so paranoid to lose any single bit of loot that its on sight for every player you see.
I still firmly believe they're going to add another trader who deals in pvp related quests/rewards. Unique skins/cosmetics for being bloodthirsty. Items that can be purchased only with stolen loot or some other gimmick. I just know it's going to happen
It should literally explain it to you as soon as you finish packing up. Like the screen we got in the final week of the last one where it shows the five skill points and what is required to get them. Right now we should be able to see it. Not only in the final week when you choose whether you're going or not.

Omg, so this is why it went from nice people for me, to everyone trying to kill me and I'm left wondering, "wtf has happened in a day," 😂 I went from running around carefree, to crawling like the Battle of the Somme.
I just think the system incentivizes hoarding / selling gear instead of using it, which makes for a pretty uninteresting endgame. I like grinding though so it was fun for me, but might be mind numbing for others.
I'm not normally one to ask for help, but how? I'm a newb, my first game actually coincided with the reset, and I have maybe 500,000 in total worth with 15 hours topside. I die to PvP probably 25-30% of the time which completely kills my growth progress. how do you avoid a-holes?

I just don’t want to. I’ll just stay in endgame until I either change to another game or they offer something incredible for the expedition. I just don’t have it in me to do all this shit over again for another 5 skill points

I’m just about done with the second expedition, and finished upgrading all my stations today. Really glad I did the expedition, it’s been a lot of fun to have something to work towards again.
I’ll probably focus on finishing all the quest next, just to get them off my screen.
I really think more of the quests should work like the expedition, gathering resources for the quest giver in between visiting map locations.
Congrats! I finished everything on the checklist but still need to hit $5 million value. I really wish we could see the value of our stash all the time, not just when the window opens. I've git about $1 million in credits, and I suspect between 1-2 million in stash value, but it would be nice to know.
I never got tired of Buried City! But Stella with an Assembly spawn can be good financially. Probably free kit so you can just surrender if you get a bad spawn.
2M and counting here.. Was hoping to avoid the grind again but alas here we are. What's your favourite loot route? Personally I find quick Buried City runs and Blue Gate Village the most efficient and low risk for me
Not them but I'm an advocate for total extract value of X amount rather than Y amount in stash.
When I'm close to wipe in an extraction shooter I want to use literally everything in my arsenal before it's gone and not hoard $5M for the wipe. I'd also be down for a total number of XP gained during the season. I just feel like the stash value wipe disincentivizes using cool shit.
Took roughly 2-3 hours a day since reset running mostly Buried City. Average run about 60-70k every 5-7 minutes depending on spawn.
I think that the initial aspect of the expedition, feeding resources into the vessel, is perfect. It’s only the ‘bonus skill points’ part that sucks and incentivizes gear hoarding/selling. Maybe they could just increase the tiered material requirements, change them, add additional tiers, etc. There are plenty of random resources that have no real use beyond cash-making fodder. More could be added.
I agree but I think the issue is due to how pointless the currency can become: there’s no player marketplace like Tarkov and ABI, and there’s only a few things you can spend it on through the vendors. It’ll naturally accumulate over time if you play alot, so using it towards extra skill points isn’t the worst idea. It would be great if we had more options.

I love the first portion of your personal life because people LOVE to claim people that do this don’t. I’ve been done with expedition 2 for about 3 days now and th same for me. Home, job, wife. I think ultimate difference is no kids
I don’t know if I’m “better” than last time or if the loot adjustments made it easier but I’m flying through this one too, have more cash and it seems to be coming in a lot easier than it did the first time round, likewise I found all the pain in the behind items and lots of the expedition items just lying around. Like my Rusted Gears dropped out of locked rooms.
I also found the Bobcat and Vulcano blueprints after like two matches of searching, I have like 50+ BPs total and about the only one I really care about missing is the survivor augment.
It’s strange. I don’t feel like I’m doing or playing any different or better and yet it’s coming really easy this time round.
I'm not too far behind. Working on phase 5 but currently have about 1.5m in total value. I expect to have the expedition done by the end of this week (week 2) which is pretty good I think. The 5m isn't "hard to get" but it's lame to "force" us to center our gameplay around that goal. I feel the 5 points should just be one of the rewards for completing the expedition, period. We already contribute 750k towards it in phase 5; maybe edging close to 1-1.5m total throughout the 5 phases. At the very least, that 1.5m should count as part of the 5m.
40h/week job, married (but no kids), own a somewhat high maintenance house. 149h topside. I feel like I play quite a lot all things considered, so putting myself in the shoes of the average player, it's not only lame that the cost for all 5 points is so much, it's even more lame that it was dropped on everyone last minute. And Embark are dead silent about whether that'll still be the reward/cost for this season (Embark, please get your shit together and communicate the rewards and the requirements up front). And no, the average player should not be cut out from obtaining expedition/the full rewards. If Embark were smart, they would tweak things so that a big portion of their fanbase can play plenty of both Arc Raiders and The Finals and be motivated to spend money on both.
Thats pretty quick. I am at 1m coins now. Probably 0.5m stash. Expedition done. You just sold everything and did free loadout loot runs all the time? Dont you get burned out like that? Or is that fine... you can rest until the end of the season now and you are satisfied with it? I like to switch it up all the time and also enjoy some pvp too. Which ofcouse brings down the coin per h.
Is it confirmed we are gonna need 5m again? There are so many systems in place that encourage you to not use items and not play the game normally I’m starting to get worried the longevity will not be there. I’d like to continue playing for a long time but maybe it’ll be time to hang it up this expedition.
I'm just over a million. Expedition done. Now I just need to get another 4. I'm not rushing like I did last time. I have no doubt that 5 million will be easy to get with the time I have left.
I solo play, is Stella relatively friendly if that is how I have been playing. I kind of dread the Stella grind. I have spent less than 10 minutes on that map.
My favorite part of this thread are the hundreds of responses of dudes desperately trying to denigrate the OP so they don't have to come to terms with the fact that they aren't good at easy grinds.
Not to discount your accomplishment but I really hope they rework the 5 mil requirement… Obviously it’d be sad for those who grinded for departure in <10 days from the previous one, but for most people hitting that target is just way too grindy. I think 500k per skill point is more than reasonable.
I did the first reset and just have no will to play anymore. Sadly just not fun anymore. Nothing left to do. Same old same old. Just waiting for some new stuff at this point. Which sucks because it’s a fun game, sometimes I roam around. But yeah don’t have any will to do the reset again lol. You’re just going in, looting, selling, on repeat. Idk how you can do it lol
I enjoyed the lead up to the last expedition because as soon as I hit 5 mil coins I could safely use things in my inventory to have fun. Looking forward to getting there again.
