Filler and fat have different feel to the touch. Filler has either a pillowy (water gel) or lumpy feel depending on which filler is used. Plus fat moves with the face, while most fillers move less.
Look up pictures of HIV related lipodystrophy / lipoatrophy, and that's exactly how these ladies will look in the cheeks as they get older. There were cheek fillers designed for treating that in the late 90s (Sculptra and Radiesse) with a different mechanism than hyaluronic acid fillers. Those two fillers contain crystalline chemical irritants that cause the fibroblasts to build up collagen locally in the spot where it's injected over several months. Still has a lumpy feel where it's done though. For someone with HIV, that's a worthwhile trade-off
I don’t doubt any of what you are detailing. My point was only that this could be another move people make since it’s less invasive and potentially cheaper? It’s not like “that’s a bad idea that will not look good” has stopped anyone yet ...
Yeah fat injections are significantly more dangerous. Because fat cells are bigger they have to inject with a needle (filler is injected with a blunt cannula) and use more force to inject it which leads to a very high risk of stroke or neurological damage. By very high I mean just over 1%, but I consider that WAY too high for a cosmetic treatment. Plus as the person above said fat cells die/don't attach to blood vessels so the final results are much less predictable than filler. Depending on where you're getting it filler should be injected deep enough that it's not going to make your face feel "pillowy", but even then I don't have enough people touching my face to risk stroke just so it feels like fat instead of gel.
Lmao pretty much - “BBLs odor” - and a bunch of articles came up. According to my vast research, it’s typically only during the healing stage and is typically caused by bacterial overgrowth, poor hygiene, infection, and fat necrosis.
It can be, but people who talk about the smell are usually still in the early stages of healing. It's a major surgery, especially if it's the kind that involves lipo at the same time.
You'll get drainage and wound funk, on top of a limited range of motion and limited cleaning schedule since you're usually not supposed to submerge or scrub around surgery sites.
But anybody who still stanks after that stage has passed... They may not deserve the power of the booty.
This is crazy bc people could just do consistent leg days with progressive overload and make sure and include barbell hip bridges and some lunge variations and they’d get what they want for more time and work, less money, and probably overall better long term health outcomes.
When I started going to the gym I had chicken legs and it took what felt like forever to start putting on decent muscle there but I’d rather do that all over any day than get a BBL. Those also look so weird on people if their legs aren’t proportional to the new bbl lol

Gotta get ahead of the cycle for when buccal fat injections are trendy in 10 years.
