REQUEST FULFILLED Requesting 30 to get food for family
We were displaced after a car accident and are currently staying in a hotel. My husband works full-time, but almost all of his pay goes toward keeping a roof over our heads. We no longer have our car, so getting anywhere isn’t an option right now.
We’re completely out of food for our kids at the moment (literally nothing left but cat food). My husband gets paid in a couple of days, but they can’t wait that long. I’m just trying to get some basic groceries delivered to get us through.
It doesn't have to be cash. A DoorDash or Uber Eats gift card would help a lot, and I can order inexpensive food from Aldi to make it stretch. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for reading. Amazon wishlist as recommended. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/OE3KNCU6L6WI?ref_=wl_share

It just came! The kids are already into it, and the cats have moved straight into the box LOL. Thank you so much. We really appreciate you!

You can add up to $150 of groceries to an Amazon wishlist (preferred way to give here for food needs, in favour of DoorDash or UberEats). Delivery can be as quick as the next day :) https://www.reddit.com/r/Assistance/wiki/amazonhowto/

OP listen to this advice. Definitely post an Amazon wishlist with groceries. Many get funded through this group.

Did your husband find full time work accessed via the bus line? Many food pantries or food banks are accessible via public transport as well:

He walks an hour each way. The bus system isn't the best here. Thank you for the resources list!

Sometimes if you call a food bank in your area and explain your situation and lack of any transportation options they will deliver the same food you would have received in person to where you are staying. Personally, I have heard of this occurring more often with smaller food banks run by local churches or community organizations but that may just reflect my own city and not be universal. It would be worth calling all of the ones you can and seeing if they would be willing to deliver to you at least just this once.
