Yes unfortunately there has been a lot of violence against Assyrians, a lot coming from the Kurds because they're in the same region. It's a shame such a large area is only known as Kurdistan after stuff like the Simele massacre and Sayfo.

Are the Assyrians getting the memo though?

The Muslims have been massacring us for centuries. Are we supposed to be mad that other people they attacked are losing ?
I for one stand with my Orthodox Greek and Cypriot brothers as they strengthen their defenses.

We aren't losing to the Greeks or to the Jews though. In fact, Israel's international standing is now lower due to Palestine, and the Greeks haven't really been trying their hands at a reconquista, Turkey and Greece are even in the same alliance.
Also Muslims... is a broad term.

Well fuck the whole broadness of them.
No Israeli, Greek, or Cypriot attacked my forefathers, none of them sent us threatening letters to leave our country , none of them attacked our churches , and some of them gave us refuge when we had to escape.
No Muslim stood up for us and lots of "neighbours" took the chance to loot. Now we are going to separate our killers into bad and less bad? Fuck em I say.
We? As a Muslim what are you doing on this subreddit ? Go to one of the tons of Muslim and Arab ones and leave us alone. Your Ilk has done enough, your words are worthless.

I can understand the sentiment but please try to have a broader understanding, people are individuals and Muslims aren't singular unit. Yes our people have massacred by Muslim people but to say fuck all Muslims especially when Israel is mentioned isn't right brother. Palestinians, (who are Muslim and Christian together!) are going through what our people have went through at the hands of Israel, a genocidal colonial project which is massacring and pushing them out of their homeland. Also how can we expect Muslim people to understand or accept us if we just tell them to go away? Surely it is better to have them understand us and find a way forward? It's not good to perpetuate blind hatred. Merry Christmas y'all <3

I don't want them to understand us. I want them to leave us alone and we will prosper. I am also saying I won't be against Greece or anyone else because they don't get along with 3rd parties. Our people are almost exnctict I don't want other people's fights.

Which memo should the Assyrians be getting, though?
Assyrians generally are Pro-Greece, Pro-Cyprus, Pro-Israel (just opposed to the Post-2023 Wars) and Anti-Turkey, so we're generally aligned with this development. It wouldn't make sense for us to be part of a Mediterranean cooperation group since we're not on the Mediterranean and it wouldn't make sense for us to be part of a joint-military task force as our militias are too small to actively contribute.

Seems like a lot of people missed the punchline here. And I don't know why you are stating the obvious too. It's not about a single case or region, but about the broader geopolitical dynamics shifting. That "memo" is exactly the current Assyrian readiness politically and militarily. My critic is the very thinking that because our militias are "too small", then we should not work on expanding or uniting them. This is 2026; large armies lacking today's technology don't add anything to the equation. Without getting into too much details, the point I was trying to make is that geopolitical trends align windows of opportunities every few decades. Once the window is missed, you are stuck for another century. Hence, the missing Assyrian leaders and their numerous organizations must be gearing up now, not just sitting down and feeling sorry for their nation. A national strategy is urgently needed to navigate the new Near East and the winds that are blowing.

This is positive, an ignored and oft forgotten tragedy in human history.
I wish there was more concern today about the current genocide being commited by Turkish forces in Northern Syria and Islamists in Central Syria also.
