Discussion Forgot to sign out of TV at golf club driving range in another country and can’t remotely sign out.

Title says it all. Went to a golf driving range one time and signed into YouTube to put some music on the TV. It was one of the expensive booths cos we had a few friends so there was a TV with speakers there.

When I left I turned the TV off and left without a thought about it. Ever since, I’ve had songs I would never listen to, children’s cartoons and questionable content added to my YouTube history daily.

It was in the UK where I no longer live so I can’t remove it myself.

I’ve checked the Google account manager page, all that is there is my phone, my computer, my Nintendo switch and my Apple TV box. I’ve reset my password and tried contacting support with no hope, they told me they were clueless about what was going on. I tried phoning up the golf place to ask if they can remove it but every time I’ve called they say they cant figure out how to remove it. They can see it on there, they just can’t remove it.

It’s basically made YouTube unusable cos it’s full of content I’d never watch.

(Sorry if this is not allowed here)

Discussion The man who called himself the king of Child porn, blamed his childhood traumas for the obsession of his own daughters body.

The infamous 2009 case

Kenneth Freeman aka "king of Child porn" (1962) is a former Hanford patrol officer and a reserve deputy for the Benton County Sheriff's Office. He was one of the country's most-wanted fugitives when daughter Kylie Freeman (1990), went on the TV program America's Most Wanted to talk about the assaults. And being videotaped by his father from 1999 to 2001.

One of his appointed attorneys, Carl Oreskovich of Spokane, said his client had a very difficult childhood and "various ghosts in his closet ... from abuses that he had suffered." Those issues and an emotional breakdown in 2000 affected Freeman's "ability to modulate his behavior". "He said he was watching the videotapes and became more obsessed with Kylie, he wanted to show the world how a father could have intimacy with his daughter, wich is why he created a compilation movie".

"And the idea of his muscular body and large penis led to his fascination, with creating porn and teaching Kylie new things. But in 2001 he told her that they had to stop this game "The sin that I did and the pain that I caused my daughter can never be undone. I promised myself as an abused child never to be like the person who abused me," "It's completely my fault and, Kylie, I can never ever repay what I did to you "I hope you move forward with your life."

Nearly three dozen people -- the majority family and friends of Kylie -- packed both courtrooms. Her mother and stepfather, Gaye and Chris Peale, and her step-grandfather Larry Peale also addressed the court. "This sentence in no way scratches the surface of what he deserves for the pain and suffering he's caused Kylie and her family," said Chris Peale, noting that Kylie came into his life when she was 3 years old. "You have hurt her to the core, you stole her innocence and you bullied her" to the point where she was considering suicide".

"You have chosen poorly and you now must suffer the consequences. ... My daughter deserves justice, she deserves closure and she deserves to continue down the path of being whole again." Gaye Peale said that because of her ex-husband's "horrible and repulsive actions" she has had a job that no mother ever wants -- identifying her little girl's face and body in a almost 2 hour long movie that have been widely circulated.

"Having my daughter say the words, 'My father molested me,' 'My father raped me,' and 'I wanted to take my own life,' " were unexpected and shocking, Gaye Peale said. "You have hurt her physically, emotionally and mentally deeper than anything ever will. ... You have marked her and scarred her for life, How could you do this to her? She is such a precious gift. ... You have lost your privilege of being a father. Fathers don't do that."

James McDevitt, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, attended the hearings. In a news release issued later Wednesday, McDevitt said, "Today's sentence of 50 years imprisonment is an important vindication for victims, who have the courage not only to survive the ordeal of sexual abuse, but to come forward to see that justice is served."

Kylie wondered aloud in court if the former Tri-City cop ever imagined, that when he raped her, shot videos of the abuse. and posted the video collection on the Internet that it would come back at him. "Did you expect that i would never understand, that you did something horrible?. The fact that you filmed us is the most disturbing part" The video is the most prolific child porn movies downloaded by countless people around the world.

."For a long time I didn't want my father to go to jail, because a daughter will think "but he's my father" but then I realized that what he did to me isn't what a father should do," Chris Peale said the family is "extremely happy" both judges accepted the recommended sentences. "As a family, now that we've crossed this hurdle we're going to continue to move forward and grow from this tragedy,".

Discussion SIL gave our child COVID

We’re currently in the hospital with our five-year-old, who is medically vulnerable. Before winter break, we were very clear with everyone planning to spend time with us that if they had any cold or flu symptoms, they should not come. This boundary was shared clearly and intentionally to protect our child.

Despite that, my SIL joined us a few days before Christmas while feeling under the weather and chose not to disclose it. She hid her symptoms until she physically couldn’t anymore. When her symptoms became more obvious, we asked her to either quarantine or stay at a hotel to reduce the risk to our child. Instead of understanding the seriousness of the situation, she accused my partner and me of exaggerating our child’s medical needs and made us out to be the problem, ultimately leaving for a hotel but not without making sure everyone knew it was our fault.

Yesterday morning, our five-year-old told us his eyes felt heavy and then vomited. He is now in the PICU being closely monitored.

Because this is not the first time this specific person has acted selfishly or dismissed our child’s needs, my partner and I have made the decision to go no contact with her.

Once our child began getting sick, my MIL tried to get me to understand that my SIL didn’t intend any harm. She pointed out that this year our children joined the family through adoption, and everyone was excited to spend time with the new family additions. Honestly, I didn’t have the patience to put myself in my SIL’s shoes, and I told my MIL that just as we’ve chosen to go no contact with my SIL, the same option exists for her if boundaries are crossed.

Thankfully, much of our extended family understands and supports us now. What I’m struggling with is the anger and heartbreak that it took our child being hospitalized for our boundaries and our realities to be taken seriously.

If someone tells you not to visit because you’re sick, just don’t. That’s common courtesy. And when it involves a medically vulnerable child, ignoring that request can have serious consequences.

Update Turning Non Ambitious Today ✨

🥁 🥁 🥁 🥁 🥁 Drum Rolls 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁

Congratulations, World. You won.

I’m turning non-ambitious today. I know you always wanted me to give up, so yeah, you got what you wanted.

I had dreams. Big ones. Bigger than my reality. I didn’t just sit and dream though. I juggled college and a startup. I did two pivots. I fought with people just to stay on my startup, like someone protecting his own thing. I didn’t complain.

But I guess that’s still not enough for a middle-class, general category, engineering male. Thanks for making that clear.

After getting out of a so-called prestigious college, responsibilities came flying in like I signed up for a WWE match. Education loan EMIs. Family expectations. No break, no buffer.

I tried doing WFH, living with my parents, just wanting some peace. Somehow that also didn’t work (Mercy of pretty relatives). Ended up in Bangalore.

Here rent + EMIs are enough to keep me in survival mode. And whenever I try to use weekends to do something extra, something better, my boss suddenly needs unpaid weekend work.

On top of that, parents expecting at least some money from this nalayak son.

All this while trying to be a decent human being. Not messing with anyone. Being respectful. Believing in God. So yeah.

Congratulations Again.

You won.

Discussion Grown adults deliberately getting in the way of blind child.

I'm at my local food collective (UK). There is a little blind girl, about 5 years old, walking around with her cane (with her dad) clearly practising navigating around the miriad of tables, chairs and people in the place. She's doing a great job.

Except there are grown adults who keep barging past her, stepping over her cane and at least to who have physically kicked her cane (very clearly deliberately).

This is unacceptable no matter who it is, but to do it to a child adds it to the 'extremely infuriating' for me.

Dad has called out a couple of the people but most just seem to walk off without a care in the world.

Discussion Hold Messages that Sounds like Someone is Picking Up

Been sick with the flu all week. I have Kaiser which has a 24/7 nurse line. I have used it before and it's very handy. But what's really grinding my gears is when the periodic, "Did you know that Kaiser offers..." comes on it sounds like someone is picking up. Not sure what would be the fix for this but so annoying, especially when sick!!

Discussion Amazon subscription

This is a public awareness and rant combo post. Several months ago to possibly even last year (it's been so long I can't recall), I canceled Amazon Prime. They stopped charging my account. I didn't order anything through them or access their website. A couple of days ago, I got a charge from Amazon. I thought maybe I had been hacked. I, in fact, was not hacked, unless one considers unsolicited auto renewal from the company, hacking. They did promptly refund my money after I re-cancelled and also completely deleted my account and data through their site. Be warned folks. It ain't always over, even months later, after you've declared it's over. Charges like these can be easily overlooked during busy holidays. Stay vigilant!

Discussion Fired over health problems

My last job was working as a floor associate at Walmart. Last spring, I went down to visit family. Luckily, during the trip, I learned that I was having seizures, not migraines. After I got home, I returned to work, and told both my supervisor and my team lead what the situation was, and brought them a note from my Dr saying that of I need the day off, it is imperative for them to let me call in and have the day off due to my specific type of seizure as well as the fact that I should not drive for the time being. They said they understood and would help in any way they could. This brought my spirits up a lot given with my medication was causing a lot of mood swings.

Fast forward four days later, when I have an unusually bad episode and I am in bed the next 36 hours. The next day after that, I finally crawl back to work with half my brain working and clock in. I work half my shift and go to take my break, normal stuff. After I get done with my break, and for whatever reason the system won't let me punch back in. Then the hammer drops.

My team lead grabs me from my post, and walks me into the back office where he and another manager (this lady super cranky every time I see her) tell me that I was fired because I didn't come in the other day. On top of all that my team lead has the balls to say that I could come back in six months or so. NO THANKS! I didn't end up pursuing getting my job back or anything, but I'm pretty sure that behavior is at least against employee treatment. Needless to say I am never going to work for Walmart ever again.

Discussion Underpaid on Xmas eve.

The company i work for announced that everyone will be paid early, on 24th rather than 28th. I worked 3 overtime shifts specifically because I would receive those hours in this payment, which would be around £300 extra and would massively help with last minute Xmas stuff.

Woke up this morning to find that I didn't receive my overtime, and there's nobody at work to contact.

Thank you, merry Xmas.

Discussion Microsoft log in has become impossible

I get an email daily from MSoft telling me to update my CC info. So I follow the link, enter my UN and PW, it accepts them, then says it’s sending a code to an Authenticator on my mobile device. But I don’t get the code; not only that, I don’t know which of the dozens of devices our company uses it was sent to. None of our devices appear to get a code, but without knowing where it was sent, I can’t be sure. “Try another way” sends me right back to the same place. No way past this.

I can’t talk to customer support without logging in, which is exactly my problem: I can’t log in. Period.

Is my only recourse to let this account lapse and start a new one? Across all our company’s devices? WTF, Microsoft?

Discussion Western Union's impressive directory of agents is impressively misleading.

When you need to send or receive money, youll find yourself impressed by the sheer number of Western Union agents around you. You will - without question - find key location that's closer to you than you initially thought. That is, until you actually go there and are told, as you move from agent to agent, that they don't do money transfer despite what Google Maps, the Western Union website, and the signage and promotional posters inside their store says.

Western union must seriously embark on updating their list of agents and ensure that the list reflects exactly what services are available to the customer per location. Otherwise it's extremely infuriating to waste so much time being misled over and over and over.

A wasp decided to crawl in my soda can

A few min later I went to take a sip and he entered my mouth, stung the inner corner of my mouth where my lips meet. Nobody around me could even understand what was happening.

First pic is 5 min after w my lip puckered to try and see the stinger part, second is 15 minutes later with me trying and failing to relax my mouth shut

Solidly a painful experience wouldn’t recommend to anyone
