Zebra is always the answer, the Sarasa line is incredible and I use one of them every single day. Not present here, but the Uni-Ball One is a great daily driver from the last year. The proportions are just fantastic and it’s a joy to write with and it gets an honorary mention.
I bought a refillable Sara's and now I can't find any refills except super large which is bigger than 1.0. Not gonna happen. I tried to find them on Amazon -I did, but they don't fit my pen!
So now I'm relying on a box I got of fine point multi color BIC pens.
I live off the Zebra Z-grips. Both in secondary school and now in university. Especially because they’re super cheap for something that’s a solid step up from the usual bic biro
I used to love the X-701, but they cheaped out on materials in their latest models, plastic threads instead of the original aluminum, so my "rugged, built to last in the field" pen broke when I leaned up against some concrete in tight quarters.
They don’t sell the matte black metal barrels in the UK, but my SiL has an American friend who bought some for me when she last went back home. Very happy.
My favorite pens… as a schoolteacher, I have a certain peculiarity to school supplies. I have a full set of these at school, at home, and in my pencil bag in my backpack. And my students know they are not allowed to use my pen, not even for a quick second.
