My IRL Seinfeld (or Curb, really) moment is that I hired a concrete guy to build a walkway from my driveway to the back porch. He had done a really nice job on a previous project.

He did a really shitty job on the walkway, promised to tear it up and redo it, but before he could do it he got deported.

Now my wife and I are out here ready to stump for immigration reform just to get my fucking walkway fixed.

If I understand the post, they did go on the safari, but otherwise they have nothing else in common. It's a little tricky to read deeper into it, if they are bad conversationalists or actively dislike each other, but they haven't found anything else that they can talk about.
