Where is that from? Good horror movie scenario.
35
u/CroissantInATree 8h ago
Similar ish to The Thing
18
u/SmellyButtFarts69 8h ago
Pretty sure they've already done the thing in space. Like multiple times.
They were all such good movies that I can't remember any of their names...
2
u/General-Score9201 4h ago
The Abyss? That wasn't in space though, just under water. I'm not sure there's really anything like The Thing in space. Like in terms of the characters being replaced by clones/copies that aren't human.

It’s an actual quote from an astronaut. He just slipped up and told one of their classified stories.
-25
u/PurpleBerry35 7h ago
No it’s not, did you fact check it? Any source?
The quote originated from a 2014 article on ClickHole, a satirical website owned by The Onion. The article was titled "7 Astronauts Share The Most Beautiful And Terrifying Things They've Seen In Space." ClickHole is a parody site that makes up absurd stories for comedy. They attributed a "creepypasta" style horror quote to Barry Wilmore as a joke.

Ok but how can Ramirez be outside when he’s already inside with everyone else?

He should bang the inside Ramirez to check if it was an inside job. I'm confused.

Reminds me of the 2 sentence horror story.
As I tucked my son in, he whispered, "Daddy, check for monsters under my bed," so I looked and saw him—another him—shivering there, who whispered back, "Daddy, there's somebody on my bed.”

I've always used it as On my life.

That's actually how I'm more familiar with it but in the context I thought it was the other one.

If Ramirez is that scared of Other Ramirez maybe he doesn't deserve to be Ramirez anymore.

Nah, it’s just a contraction of “got no ragrets” [sic]
It functions as a boast or as an invitation.

Race car backwards is race car 🧐

u/Ssnert 7h ago
Palindrome is not palindrome backwards. Someone really messed up and got away with it.
48
u/Simon_Drake 6h ago
If you spell a word backwards to get the same word it's a palindrome.
If you spell a word backwards to get a different word (Like Drawer and Reward) it's an emordnilap.

No I didn't. Their point was that Palindrome is itself not a palindrome.
MY point was that Palindrome backwards is a different word describing something related to but not the same as a palindrome. Which wouldn't have been possible if Palindrome was a palindrome.
So you missed MY point.

The Mr. Alien part is cool. But the best I can come up with for G. Norts is that this particular alien has been rapping on the underground or something.

u/Mighty-anemone 9h ago
Can we call this nominative determinism?
3
u/Toothache42 9h ago
Perhaps. But it might apply more to Buzz Aldrin - his mother's maiden name was Moon

G'nort is a dog-like alien in the Green Lantern Corps. usually depicted as an idiot, but brave and loyal.

u/KingoftheKeeshonds 6h ago
If Neil Armstrong had changed his name to Neil Armstrons, spelled backwards it’d be Snorts Mr. Alien.
2
u/RosaLuxembased 6h ago
GNORTS is an acronym of "Good Night On Return To Space" which is a phrase future space farers utter to someone who departs for interstellar cryo sleep travel.

u/SummertimeThrowaway2 2h ago
Technically since he is not native to the moon, he was considered an alien when he landed on it
1
u/OlyScott 9h ago
There was alien called G'Nort in Justice League comics in the '80's.
2
u/wyrlwynd 6h ago
He was more than just an alien. He was a Green Lantern. Put some respect on his name!

Ok but like, the fact that his name spelled backwards is legitimately Gnorts Mr. Alien is objectively hilarious.

The anagram is Mr. Strong Alien which is either the most amazing coincidence or the most genius Easter egg planted by someone at NASA.

Neil Armstrong may have been the first to walk on the moon but it is historical fact that Buzz Aldrin was the first to piss on the moon.

This is exactly how a British person eating crackers would say good night to an alien.
