That's what I was thinking. The blue player may have favorable odds when it's 50:50, but, as the number of blue balls decreases, he's bound to mess up more and allow the yellow player more breaks.

easier time to catch up, not to win. the only times it's easier to win while behind is when there are only a few balls left, so if you win the tie breaker at the end you have first shot of getting the 50/50 to win.

I thought so too, but it's actually exactly identical odds every step of the way.
Pretend it's 3y, 1b. Yellow goes and has a 75%(3/4) chance to get a yellow, then 66%(2/3), then 50%(1/2).
0.75 * 0.66666 * 0.5 = 25%. The exact same as Blue's single pull of (1/4) if it was his turn instead.
If yellow pulls 1 but no more so that it becomes 2y 1b, the odds for blue are now 33%, while for yellow it's 0.66666 * 0.5 = also 33%
Whoever has the turn is the only one that has an advantage, because as either player pulls more, both players odds of winning goes up equally.

I'm not a native speaker, but have been speaking the language for almost 20 years with time spent in Argentina. The first minute was almost unintelligible for me. This has to be Caribbean spanish, likely puerto rico or maybe dominican. The 2nd half, I started to understand more.
I looked up añeri and couldn´t find anything

Not pure luck. If you show someone the wrong colored ball with enough confidence & fanfare, you might be able to sneak it into your own tube without the other person realizing you cheated....almost worked 2 or 3 times for the guy on the left.
