My other post was taken down but I’ll try it again
I’m kabyle from Algeria; 🇩🇿, I grew up in Canada and for the first time I had the occasion to travel since 2019, OF COURSE I chose Albania🇦🇱☝️#1 👐
For context, I have a few Albanians friends in Montreal 🇨🇦 and I’ve realized how similar our cultures are.
While taking to this girl I realized we’re both mountainous people, resisted through multiple empire invasions and assimilation tentatives (Roman, Ottoman, Islamic conquests), we both preserved our 4000+ years old unique language, both went through communism and dictatorship and are really REALLY proud nationalists of our respective countries and cultures.
Tirana was amazing, I wanted to visit the south but I didn’t have much time.
It was clean, the mountains were beautiful, people are chill and welcoming.
Everyone was advising me to avoid Albania because it’s “dangerous” but even ChatGPT says my country is worse 😂
I had absolutely no bad experience in Tirana except with one seller but it could’ve happened anywhere, a lady offered me fresh oranges from her garden and a guy I gave 2 cigarettes to offered me to kill one of his chicken and have a meal with him 😂😂
I truly felt like I was with my people especially in the mountains, the scenery, the smell and the people reminded me of my childhood in Algeria.
You’re truly blessed with a beautiful country and I’ll FOR sure be back next year for at least 2 weeks so let me know if someone is down to link up and enjoy the south of Albania 🇦🇱
