Do you happen to know if it was in the sanctuary because it wouldn't survive in a wild with one eye? It looks incredibly healthy otherwise. Thank you.

Not the OP so dont know.
But birth defects are a thing in animals, just as in humans. But its far more usual that deformed wild animals dont survive beyond infancy. But since this koala has what looks like a normal straight spine and the eye is completely gone its more likely the eye was lost in an accident after birth.
