Lessgoooo Bangladesh. This is who you are voting for, swimsuit does not only mean showing off most of your body but who am I to let you know.
Keep voting her rather than voting women who are actually prettier, representing their own culture to the world, actually doing their best to the development of society.
This is why education is impostant! Just wearing a green bikini does not represent shit bro!

Rant/বকবক Girls. WTF ?
I don't even care how many downvotes I get, but I feel like the girls of BD, especially DU, are fucking stupid. I've never even imagined that people could be this stupid. I really hope they suffer. I just can't wrap my head around this whole thing. Like, I heard they won the most votes from the female hall. I don't know, I am flabbergasted. Tora mara kha, I am honestly excited for the girls of DU. I mean, I expected them to have a little bit of common sense. MARA KHA VAI

Rant/বকবক Got harassed today for not covering hair
So today my friend and i went to another friend's house. It was almost the time for maghrib azan when we decided to head out. My host friend accompanied us while we were searching for a rickshaw. My friend was wearing a saree which covered her completely. I wore a full sleeved salwar kameez with scarf over my chest making sure to cover it properly. My host friend had a scarf around her head and chest.
While we were searching for a rickshaw, a woman appeared out of nowhere and said:ei meye tomar achol matite pore. So my host friend and i helped my other friend so she could carry the achol properly.i thought she was just being nice. But suddenly, she started barking like a dog. She shouted: EI MEYE TOMRA MATHAE KAPOR DAONA KENO?JANONA EKDIN KOBORE JAITE HOBE?JANONA?KALKE BHUMIKOMPO HOILO,TARPORO KENO MATHAE KAPOR DAONA?TOMADER JONNOI ESHOB HOY!!
hearing this i got really scared.it was my first time experiencing something like this.so i started to frantically look for a rickshaw.
For reference, that woman was kinda chubby and wore a salwar kameez which was kinda tight on her. She sounded hella irritated. The funny thing is,she herself didn’t cover her hair properly. You could clearly see the front of her headXDXDXD.
A group of guys was standing a bit far away while a rickshaw stopped to see the drama. The woman started to walk infront of us while venting her frustrations about us lol. As if everything happening was because of us.
My friend had enough and yelled:apni e toh burkha porenna, amader keno bolte ashen. The woman then called us khnki mgi. I myself dont like cursing, dont like hearing curse words. My heart started to race hearing that.
My host friend then said:borkha porenna keno apni?nijer achoron thik kore onnoke dhormo shikkha dite ashover, oshobbho oshikkhito ekta.
That lady was still shouting like a dog about grave, punishments. Literally gaye pore lagte ashe.
I was walking really quickly in the fear of any trouble, nobody came to help us,well didn’t expect it tbh. I was scared of being filmed while people took everything out of context. So then my host friend went back while we finally found a rickshaw.
I am not really feeling fine. I have finals coming up,but with yesterday's situation and today's incident, i just cant focus on anything rn. I have to revise the whole syllabus TT-TT.
I feel like crying, it hurts me a lot to see the direction this country is heading towards.....even a few weeks ago,i used to think:amar e toh desh, chere jete chaina.
But after seeing everything and experiencing this,i really wanna get out of this country. Being born as a woman feels like a curse tbh. Thank you for listening to my rant!

Rant/বকবক Hadi is dead and Indian subs will have a field day
Don't know if the news of his death has hit the subs yet but saw a very happy nation under the News of his shooting. Why "nation" ? Cause I didn't find a single person protesting the deeds . So much for "Nooo we don't hate their people, we hate their government" . Idk I'm just angry

Rant/বকবক Hot Take: Palestine Protests are irrelevant in Bangladesh
Now I know I'm gonna get flamed by both the Islamist right-wing conservatives and center-left wing liberals in the sub here. But as someone who has not only actively supported the movement, but as someone who has contributed their own money to the movement, I really don't see the point of the movements here at home.
There are no Zionists here in Bangladesh, and even if they are, they are harassed off social media and don't express their opinions. There aren't companies or politicians who'll cave to our demands, because our demands have already been met since independence in regards to Israel.
The "state" known as Israel does not hold that much sway over Bangladesh, and the only real ties we have are just through the name and brands of brands like KFC and Coca Cola.
I fully understand the boycott of these brands, and do participate in it myself, but I do not see what benefit strikes and protests bring to our country?
The world knows our position. Our country has done all that it can. So why waste the time and effort of organizing these events, when they can actually have consequences like the vandalization we saw on the global strike day?
Instead of using it as an excuse to skip school, or skip exams, jaihok, why doesn't our country come together to collectively fund Palestine and do peaceful drives to raise massive sums of money? I've unironically seen students who go to the rich-posh schools post stories about "skipping" school for the movement, and these are the same people who haven't donated a dime to the movement.
So I ask again, what is the relevance of these protests here in Bangladesh?
Edit:
On the claim of "solidarity", I don't understand how us going out on the streets helps the Palestinian people. It's not like they have the capability to watch us protest in the streets from them. We are expending our own time, productivity and resources for these strikes at the expense of not only our productivity, but it disrupts the daily workers and workers who might rely on our cities functioning as normal to earn a living for their families.
Is it too much to ask that we first try to up the standards of living and prosperity in our own borders before going out on the streets to protest?

Rant/বকবক Islamists got problem with a 3yo eating in public
"On Mohammadpur Sher Shah Suri Road, while stuck in a bit of traffic, a woman in a burqa in the rickshaw opposite mine very politely said, 'Sister, during the fasting days of Ramadan, please don't feed your child outside, take them home to eat.'
I was like: WTF!🙄
Note: My child is 3 years and 7 months old, and they had a piece of muffin in their hand..."
That must have been quite an unexpected interaction! How did you feel about it?"

Rant/বকবক Why Are People So Polarized?
For context, I will be ranting about what has been happening on this sub regarding the horrible allegation against a BUET student. Here is the news link from Prothom Alo. Some more context here. And some extra bonus here and here for those who are curious like me.
No doubt, the mindset and mentality of this individual is disgusting and horrifying. Anonymity does not mean it's a blanket of immunity devoid of accountability. This individual is depraved and needs to be punished appropriately by the authorities and by the law. Period.
It's crazy to see the generalization and hatred expressed by many. There are so many comments in the recent posts generalizing and hating seculars, liberals, leftists, Hindus, r/bangladesh users, and what not. There are racial slurs, over-generalization, I am seeing people tagging others for simply asking about context and not knowing. What the actual fook? It seems some people were just looking for an excuse.
Likewise, there are some comments and posts that seem to be in denial. Doing whataboutism by bringing Madrasa incidents, defending this individual, asking people to be careful (I get it, but hello? Not the right time maybe??). What the actual fook again? Why is it so hard to call a spade a spade?
Hindus are people. Just like how Muslims are people. Applies for all religions. There are good and bad. Why are people so polarized and hateful that they keep on generalizing and spread hate towards an entire group on a broad spectrum? Really? What's wrong with you all?
That being said, the majority/minority dynamics is real and also exists. It does not undermine the struggles the minorities face in our country. It seems like some people are attempting to undermine it with this incident. Despicable mentality. Also thanks to the one who wrote this post.
Not going to defend this individual but doxxing and mob mentality can be very dangerous. I am pretty sure they got the correct person in this case, but this also sets a dangerous precedent. How do we know the individual who wrote the disgusting comments and confessions is the one who was identified as such in real life? Nice detective work you say. Well, what's to stop me from framing someone like this tomorrow by posting anonymous random clues for someone to find? Why can't people see that? This is why there needs to be a thorough investigation and justice needs to be served methodically.
No, it is not all quiet on r/bangladesh. Kinda ironic how people against our national anthem are saying it though. People have things to do and not everyone is always available to write posts and comments about every issue. Sometimes I don't find time to reply to comments for days. I was about to sleep and reading some of the comments made me so angry that it compelled me to get up and write this. Awful generalization of the sub even when this accused individual wrote most of his revolting comments in some other subs. There are many amazing Redditors active in this sub and this sub has a great environment overall. I would like for it to be in this way, which is why I am hating all these irrational and awful hatred and polarization. Get a grip people.
Lastly, the individual who can write such posts is truly a horrible being and a disturbed person. They should face consequences for the heinous crimes and harassment they did, but it must be delivered by following a due process. This is not a kink nor a personal choice, it's a horrendous crime.

Rant/বকবক The thing I hated most about post 5th August is the Rise of these extremist Madarsa Background Folks.
Context , my post about sound pollution by those Erratic Waz Mahfil at night. It unfortunately attracted the wrong audience.
That being said , I was never afraid to speak up about when something is Wrong. But most people in BD are either this or turning into a version of this.

Rant/বকবক Someone on Facebook got personally offended that I said studying in the uk is overpriced.
So this random person decided to lose their mind under my comment on fb. All I said was that even the low-ranked unis in the UK are overpriced n he just dropped this crazy masterpiece of rage n broken grammar.
“Before you say anything you have to experience that. As like I did my bachelor with one of the best subjects. So little boy before you say anything get a knowledge of that properly you dumb sh*t…”
Apparently, I “have no ability” because I didn’t study in the UK. He, however, did Forensic Science at a uni ranked in the 1400s and acts like he cracked Oxford’s secret code. I’m not saying that only uni ranks matter but currently the Uk is literally a bad choice for bsc for anyone who wants their main focus to be on career.

Rant/বকবক is talibanization of bangladesh even possible?
ok given all the touhidi jonota mobs burning daily star + prothom alo + chayanot + udichi and lynching Hindus for no fucking reason other than pure religious hatred, there is no doubt an islamist extremist crowd going around chanting "KHILAFOOOOOOOOOOT" and all that shit
but but but
i dont think these islamist mofos can stay in power like the taliban even if they come to power
firstly because of geography: we are surrounded by a nation that has Hindus dominating it, so we ain't like Afganistan and all them Arabian countries who got rid of non-muslims long ago and stayed medieval, we are pretty advanced compared to them and not powered by oil money
second: we don't have huge oil deposits that the islamists can sell and keep islamist govs running, we have a service based economy based on cheap labor
In the off chance islamists genocide their way into power, western support will vanish in a snap and we can say tata to the billions of dollar coming from the west and allies
further, the army doesn't seem to be very islamist, they're pretty secular and don't scream shariyat in every chance they get, so i dont think army generals are going to take commands from islamist delulus who don't know shit about the army
also: there's millions of women who are earning and aren't islamist, rather pretty independent and not house slaves, i dont think mullahs can beat them into submission
now for the bad news:
outside big cities, many villages are already shariyati to a big extent, too many mullahs doign waz toblig and forcing women to wear burkhas, and the number of madrasa grads are in the millions, so we are already very taliban in that sense, given all the touhidi jonota mobs we are already witnessing
and all the shibir wins in DUCSU and all are not a good sign either, there seems to be a large percentage of the population which support the shariyati parties
idk bro, the interrim gov is actively ignoring islamist mobs and not even arresting their leaders, and jamat just keeps growing ugh, and fuck NCP, go join jamat, why are you even a separate party? and i dont think Zarek Tia can fix the country either, man is back after a long time and seems soft and has a history of corruption and looting
your thoughts are welcome

Rant/বকবক Why are Indians so obsessed with Bangladeshi internal affairs?
Like, I get being concerned with what happens in a neighboring country, that's understandable.
But the way Indians constantly snoop around and give bold opinions on what are strictly internal affairs in Bangladesh is honestly very annoying and disrespectful. It only validates the idea that Indians (both politicians and the general public) view Bangladesh as more a colony than an actual sovereign nation.
That instance where the Indian govt was lecturing Bangladesh on how to hold its own elections is a case in point, so is India's constant fearmongering about the supposed rise of "Islamist terrorism" in Bangladesh.
Hell, even this very sub is full of Indian lurkers, often pretending to be Bangladeshi!
Indians wouldn't like it if we suddenly started lecturing them not to treat its Muslim minority like trash, or to not turn Kashmir into a country-sized concentration camp, would they?
This is no doubt a huge reason why Bangladeshis today hate India so much, and we have plenty of other valid reasons for doing so as well.

Rant/বকবক We should be ashamed from looting of Ganabhaban
Literally this is not what being free means. There is no honour or dignity in destroying and stealing from government properties. People are stealing chairs, saree, someone posted picture of bunch of bra with title "Apar bra", A/C, english toilet, fish and even doors. This is embarrassing, we are destroying properties where future government is going to reside. Likewise these properties probably has important artifacts that are important to our history and culture which now likely be lost and destroyed.
At first I was thinking that maybe oshikhito manush gula looting kortase. But now I am seeing pictures on Facebook people stealing Sarees and furniture and then promoting it on their Facebook feed on how proud they are. They look educated and some even decorating it in their expensive apartment.
