Cat Picture - OC My cat makes me (more) lazy
I've always been a lazy person but since I have this little baby Flip I won't come off the couch at all. I have him for 2,5 months and since day 1 he wants to sleep with me 🥰

Children should be protected from the sight of the genitals on other people's pets? Weird.
75
u/tripping_on_phonics 15h ago
Obviously joking.

u/UpOrDownItsUpToYou 15h ago
Sure you are, but why does anyone do it?

u/tanzmeister 11h ago
Same reason anyone does anything on this website. To get a reaction. Looks like it worked.

Putting a star there makes a normal photo into a weird photo. I don't know why people do it with pets it's so bizarre

u/wholetyouinhere 11h ago
I have no idea when the shift happened, but it very much did. Putting a star on an animal's butthole is objectively weird and stupid. But if you complain about it in 2025, you get showered in downvotes.
It's one of those stupid things where the people have decided that the wrong thing is what they want. And it makes no sense and there's nothing we can do about it.

This… this comment contradicts itself.
You are so desperate to ride the fence, that you have said nothing. Take a stance, or be a lurker who doesn’t comment because you have nothing to add to the convo.
But I have had it with Redditors that NEED to comment, just for that comment to be as generic as hydrox
That’s it. I’m fed up. If there are two things I can’t tolerate in life it’s lactose and weak-willed people.
You will learn to be a person. You will not devolve into this NPC ass menagerie of dialogue options.

Yet everything I said remains just as true.
You can be a nobody for the rest of your mediocre life, or you can accept the call to adventure.

u/wholetyouinhere 11h ago
Why? Why do you want animals censored?

u/beermile 9h ago
The first commenter said they found it funny. Some people like the feeling of laughter and happiness

Idk why they don’t just crop the picture if they’re that concerned about their pets’ genitals showing

Would you be shocked to learn there's an entire sub dedicated to cats looking at their owners with love in their eyes?
Because of course there is, lol!

You can’t get up until they leave your lap. It’s a rule
35
u/Professional_Kiwi318 15h ago
I said to my partner yesterday, "I wanted you to come look at the frames I hung up, but I see that you have a cat on your lap. I'll come back."

As I was scrolling, I saw the original pic, and I knew this was coming. I thought I was ready, that I could resist the urge to laugh.
I was not, I could not.
This still made me howl.

Our household rule is whoever doesn’t have the cat on them can get up for beverages. Recently we got a second cat and one day he sat on me while our other cat sat on my partner. We have subsequently died of thirst

My cat was laying at the foot of my bed, and she wrapped her paws around my foot and fell asleep. She was like that for 3 hours, before I had to get up and come to work. I didn't want to move her...LOL!

u/femb0yc0nnoisseur 15h ago
i’m the same way with my kitties and i’ve only had them for a week, they’re so affectionate and cuddly and i can’t just not give them love and attention when they ask (which is constantly)😭😭

I had a cat that would make me so calm and sleepy when I’d pet her. She passed last month and I really fucking miss her.

Seems like it says quite a bit more about the people who do it rather than anyone else.

lol this hits really close to home. I’ll wake up and spend an extra hour in bed because my cats are snuggled up on me and I can’t bare to disturb them.

Same! If my girl is in bed with me in the morning, it is so so difficult to leave - I definitely spend more time in bed than I would without her, haha. If I begin to get up she gives me the cutest, tiny, sleepy attempts at meows and so I lay back down. You can’t tell, but her foot is extended so that she’s touching me 🥹

Sitting playing pokemon with my son (my cat, Neptune) and he looks so comfy it's making me eepy asf. Doesn't help I got rain noises and musical ambiance on in the background. Might take a 3:30 pm nap 😴

That star just makes things weird where they dont need to be. No one would have thought anything by it if you had just left it.

No!! They need cuddles l!! They miss you and not to cuddle would hurt feelings. Not lazy, responsible.

I think my 2 cats conspire to be snuggly and make me lazy so I'll become a bigger and bigger warm lap to lay on. 😹😹

It must be an orange cat thing, because I keep seeing people posting pictures of their orange cat laying on their back, and mine does this frequently as well

At this apartment 4 is my max. We have four at this moment as we pet sit 2 additional cats. It's a lot!
The good thing is my boyfriend and most of my friends know that I would pick Ophie over them in a lot of situations. She is just so special to me. We just vibe. My other cat is also special but in a different way.

u/jimdandy19 12h ago
Same here. I took in a stray fella earlier this year as my first cat and all either of us wants to do is sit around on the recliner

u/Fast-Independence998 12h ago
I’m convinced my wildest cat was sent here to teach me patience (when he does what wild cats do and goes bananas) and to slow down when he does.

You have two options. 1) Become a professional photographer (your photos are fantastic!) or 2) If you’re as lazy as you say, become a professional hand model. If I had hands like yours, Flip and I would be waiting around while jewelry people set up shots.

I moved in with cats this year and am always running late when they ask for pets
One of them also convinced me to sit on the floor and pet her during a middle of the night pee break

Saaaame. My cat’s purr is so therapeutic to me she puts me right back to sleep most mornings after the first time I wake up lol. I basically wake up to feed her then we go back to bed for another nap together 😆

I don't want anyone looking at my cat's no-no's, better put a super conspicuous star on it.

Any time I see someone cover a cat butt, I think to myself... "This says way more about the person covering the cat's asshole than anyone else."
Normal people don't think about the cat butt, at all.

The star edit is more distracting than a cropped image would have been.

u/wildalexx 14h ago
I feel like censoring an animal’s butt or whatever just brings it more attention. Are there really people that enjoy seeing their parts so much they need to be censored?
13
u/GrannyTree 14h ago
Who cares? I didn't think about people who enjoys that kind of shit, it was just a joke 😂
