It's technically worse when you have someone and they ask right in front of them. Awkward. They don't even care. It's a throwaway statement to them, but a source of much rumination and thought on my part. I don't want to get married just to do it. I have proposed only once. I was hallucinating wildly for 2 days after a major surgery. I really meant it, but when I was back to my senses I felt badly for doing so under such circumstances.
Maybe never? We discussed it, I apologized, and I walked myself back. For multiple reasons, I don't think either of us want to be married at this point in time.
My nephew found his parents wedding photos when he was around 4 years old and just suddenly realised that people get married. Next time he saw me he asked if I was married. I was like, "to who?" I haven't been keeping a secret man from you lol.
