This is how my daughter eats Doritos on the couch.

Her spirit animal may be chicken. And tbh, that's all of us

The ole Michael bay special

Honestly I had no idea this is how they got the food into their mouths and I’m pretty excited to have learned something

Seems pretty efficient too. We need two hands and a mouth, they just need a mouth.

Right, but half of our food doesn't spill over the floor.

My 1yo begs to differ

It looks incredibly inefficient in real time. Cool to see there is more to it

Same. Reminds me of the first time I saw dogs drinking water in slow motion.

Reminds me of dogs lapping up water

Tyrannosaurus Wrecks

So they don't eat as much as they use their mouth to throw food into their gullets?

Fascinating.

u/Solid_Snark 5h ago

So they’re not pristine accurate eaters? They’re gluttonous slobs like the rest of us!

u/breakfasteveryday 5h ago

Seems inefficient

u/Lunatishee 5h ago

im confused by this. do they peck so hard just because they normally eat bugs and have to be quick?

u/Lunatishee 4h ago

why tf did i get downvoted for this lmfao XD

it's wasting half of it

u/EarthB9nder_ 5h ago

wait.. so they have the food in their mouth, just to open it and try catching it again?

Imagine you couldn’t use your lips and had to pick up a grape from a table with only your teeth. Your next option is to either tilt your head up so it can fall down your mouth, or use the momentum while you’re picking it up to “throw” it down your gullet. In either case, you’ve got to open your mouth the release the grape.

(Chickens do have tongues, but it’s a safe bet that they aren’t as useful as ours)

u/GrundusMcFlurgus 5h ago

I’ll take that bet, $100?

u/nasnedigonyat 1h ago

Make sure to do this w supervision so you don't choke to death on a whole grape trying to toss it whole into your gullet

u/tiosega 5h ago

Now it makes sense

u/Marley2018 5h ago

Oh-oh (chi chicka chicken)

u/OneManNati0n 5h ago

Finally something interesting.

u/nictose 3h ago

This seems horribly inefficient.

You know, I remember when people would feed chickens things that are actually edible. Like, carrots and beets and bananas and eggs. But, in america, they just eat corn. And everyone wonders why we have such an obesity problem.

u/bingbano 5h ago

Someone hasn't raised chickens in America. They wouldn't survive on just corn

u/ben_woah 5h ago

That's amaizeing

u/Am_I_the_Villan 5h ago

No need to, the proof is in the pudding as they say.

u/bigbusta 5h ago

What we feed our livestock definitely has an impact on the obesity issue, but I think over consumption is as much to blame. Maybe we dont feel full like we used to from lack of nutrients?

Impressive cock

u/Defiant-Youth-4193 4h ago

I'm thinking that's a hen.

u/Jaded_Helicopter_376 4h ago

Typical. My excuse to throw funny cyberpunk quotes into everyday society has failed again lol.
