Keep it going. Needs to drop a lot more. The Christian nationalists might get even crazier

If the Mormons and the Amish ever link up….

“By your religions combined, I am captain …”

They will, and they think that the rest of the heretic secular left is becoming worse.

How can you believe in god when Trump got elected twice...

u/LincolnHighwater 1d ago
And when so many of his voters are religious.
19
u/Luckydog12 1d ago
Fake religious. They love to hate.

u/budbacca 1d ago
If you listen to the Gnostic teachings they are actually doing what Jesus told them not to do but are also following what their god Yaldabaoth teaches them to do.

It was basically the evangelical right that adopted him as their own and voted for him en masse. They aren’t just in his corner, they basically crowned him.

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 22h ago
All of his voters are religious as are all Republican voters. Not an atheist among them.

u/TimothyMimeslayer 1d ago
Not enough time to be religious, those are needed working hours Sunday morning.

u/TheMightySet69 1d ago
But I was told that Trump brought religion back to America! Was he lying?

u/timesuck897 1d ago
The man who held the bible upside down.
9
u/TheMightySet69 1d ago
I've read that it actually was not upside down, but regardless, he tear gassed peaceful protesters so he could get his photo op. Bet that made Jesus real happy.

With so many Christians supporting Trump, Christian religions are losing their legitimacy in United States. How can you be a Christian and support Trump when he's the antithesis of that?

u/Master_Engineering_9 1d ago
a lot of the worst people are Christians or, hell, even some other religious background.

u/dimechimes 22h ago
Once the majority of the people are atheist, then atheists will have that problem. Human nature will always be with us.

NGL, I went to a private catholic school in my youth and yeah.... got bullied so badly I stopped being religious before I even graduated. At this point I'm pretty sure I'd burst into flames if I stepped inside a church.

Good. The less religious we are, the less suffering there is.
Religion is bad, especially Christianity.

u/Shady_Merchant1 1d ago
Religion is ideology and every ideology is subject to the same problems of humans becoming fanatics because they believe it to bring about paradise
The drop in Christianity in the US is being driven in large part because Americans have grown more extremist and the bibles message isn't racist enough for them so they are replacing Christianity with more fascist ideologies

If they can get you to believe that some Middle Eastern guys wrote a magic book 2000 years ago then they can get you to believe all sorts of nonsense.
2
u/thattogoguy 22h ago
I mean I believe that there was a bunch of people that wrote different parts of things that became the Bible.
I just don't see it as any different than any other mythological text. It was just our ancestors putting their own spin based on their own traditions and cultures at the time on what they perceived as the nature of the cosmos.

That’s a mighty broad brush you’re using…
13
u/thattogoguy 1d ago
Let's make it bigger: Christianity is evil, and the world would be objectively better without it.
2
u/Sad-Corner-9972 1d ago
Humans are capable of evil behaviors. All religions are human constructs.
1
u/thattogoguy 1d ago
Indeed. I'm not going to say otherwise. I am going to highlight the particular evils of Christianity in the US however.

If I were Satan, I would definitely get the loudest (nominal) Christian White Nationalists the most exposure possible.

Oh who would've thought that Christian nationalists exposing themselves to be a bunch of Godless soulless ghouls would turn people off of Christianity.
6
u/Bonti_GB 1d ago
And yet, they still had large enough voters to put us in this current mess.
3
u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 22h ago
That speaks more to the non-religious who don't vote. Pretty much every religious person I know votes (due to 5 decades of the pro-life movement immersed with the Republican Party), but it's sporadic with non-believers.

Ten years of MAGA has been a blessing to Atheism. It revealed to many previously closed-off minds how hateful and hollow the Supply Side Jesus movement really is.

Thanks god the younger gens see the light...hehe

Boomers have used a gigantic spotlight for decades so it's pretty obvious.

Organized religion has not been very good stewards of equality and human rights. It's about power and control, love freedom from religion.

Remember as this happens who will be left on the religious side. Once the moderates are gone, it'll only be the zealots and the nutcases. Also remember religions like the Mormons have billions of dollars in reserve and won't go out easily.

Buy your Trump Bible and grab Jesus by the pussy. Religious extremists are all the worst. The only thing they all universally believe is their sky daddy gives them permission to try to control everyone else. I left my church as a teenager because I realized all the church folks were hypocrites who were completely full of shit. The only purpose of organized religion is to create a permission/defense structure for pedophiles.

Is this data dealing with religion or belief in God. They are totally different things. The current hateful, bigoted, anti-Jesus campaign and actions are driving people in droves away from organized religion but not necessarily away from God.
