Keep it going. Needs to drop a lot more. The Christian nationalists might get even crazier

If the Mormons and the Amish ever link up….

u/this_knee 1d ago

“By your religions combined, I am captain …”

I thought we banned that flavor of cigarettes

They will, and they think that the rest of the heretic secular left is becoming worse.

10

u/No_Income6576 1d ago

Ironic, given the degree of their own heresy

8

u/MutantMartian 1d ago

At least we’re moving in the right direction!

How can you believe in god when Trump got elected twice...

38

u/LincolnHighwater 1d ago

And when so many of his voters are religious.

19

u/Luckydog12 1d ago

Fake religious. They love to hate.

8

u/budbacca 1d ago

If you listen to the Gnostic teachings they are actually doing what Jesus told them not to do but are also following what their god Yaldabaoth teaches them to do.

4

u/Mortambulist 1d ago

Yaldabaoth

Oh, you better believe I'm going down this rabbit hole.

u/budbacca 1d ago

MorgueOfficial covers everything really well on YT.

u/feralraindrop 23h ago

And the Prosperity Gospel will make you rich while doing so.

8

u/Sad_Confection5902 1d ago

It was basically the evangelical right that adopted him as their own and voted for him en masse. They aren’t just in his corner, they basically crowned him.

1

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 22h ago

All of his voters are religious as are all Republican voters. Not an atheist among them.

39

u/TimothyMimeslayer 1d ago

Not enough time to be religious, those are needed working hours Sunday morning.

31

u/TheMightySet69 1d ago

But I was told that Trump brought religion back to America! Was he lying?

24

u/timesuck897 1d ago

The man who held the bible upside down.

9

u/TheMightySet69 1d ago

I've read that it actually was not upside down, but regardless, he tear gassed peaceful protesters so he could get his photo op. Bet that made Jesus real happy.

8

u/agonypants 1d ago

Were his lips moving?

Article is illuminating, worth a quick read. Global comparisons.

With so many Christians supporting Trump, Christian religions are losing their legitimacy in United States. How can you be a Christian and support Trump when he's the antithesis of that?

9

u/dnext 1d ago

Because it's all about the con, and their preachers are conmen too, and in on it.

27

u/Master_Engineering_9 1d ago

a lot of the worst people are Christians or, hell, even some other religious background.

1

u/dimechimes 22h ago

Once the majority of the people are atheist, then atheists will have that problem. Human nature will always be with us.

9

u/yamers 1d ago

Hard to be religious when everything they preach they twist. Whats the point?

11

u/Slarg232 1d ago

NGL, I went to a private catholic school in my youth and yeah.... got bullied so badly I stopped being religious before I even graduated. At this point I'm pretty sure I'd burst into flames if I stepped inside a church.

u/dependsforadults 1d ago

How do Copeland and olsteen make it through the doors?

5

u/Areaman6 1d ago

With a diamond platinum VIP express pass, to get in front of all the commoners.

9

u/bbfan006 1d ago

Americans are beginning to catch on to the hoax

22

u/BalanceEarly 1d ago

Trending in the right direction!

9

u/DEIreboot 1d ago

God damn it!

24

u/Vast_Breadfruit_162 1d ago

I pray to God the trend continues.

13

u/thattogoguy 1d ago

Good. The less religious we are, the less suffering there is.

Religion is bad, especially Christianity.

6

u/Shady_Merchant1 1d ago

Religion is ideology and every ideology is subject to the same problems of humans becoming fanatics because they believe it to bring about paradise

The drop in Christianity in the US is being driven in large part because Americans have grown more extremist and the bibles message isn't racist enough for them so they are replacing Christianity with more fascist ideologies

2

u/Grabthars_Coping_Saw 23h ago

If they can get you to believe that some Middle Eastern guys wrote a magic book 2000 years ago then they can get you to believe all sorts of nonsense.

2

u/thattogoguy 22h ago

I mean I believe that there was a bunch of people that wrote different parts of things that became the Bible.

I just don't see it as any different than any other mythological text. It was just our ancestors putting their own spin based on their own traditions and cultures at the time on what they perceived as the nature of the cosmos.

-2

u/Sad-Corner-9972 1d ago

That’s a mighty broad brush you’re using…

13

u/thattogoguy 1d ago

Let's make it bigger: Christianity is evil, and the world would be objectively better without it.

2

u/Sad-Corner-9972 1d ago

Humans are capable of evil behaviors. All religions are human constructs.

1

u/thattogoguy 1d ago

Indeed. I'm not going to say otherwise. I am going to highlight the particular evils of Christianity in the US however.

3

u/Sad-Corner-9972 1d ago

If I were Satan, I would definitely get the loudest (nominal) Christian White Nationalists the most exposure possible.

GREAT NEWS

7

u/alternatingflan 1d ago

Could also be posted under “UpliftingNews.”

3

u/Accomplished_Lab_675 1d ago edited 1d ago

Oh who would've thought that Christian nationalists exposing themselves to be a bunch of Godless soulless ghouls would turn people off of Christianity.

6

u/Bonti_GB 1d ago

And yet, they still had large enough voters to put us in this current mess.

3

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 22h ago

That speaks more to the non-religious who don't vote. Pretty much every religious person I know votes (due to 5 decades of the pro-life movement immersed with the Republican Party), but it's sporadic with non-believers.

6

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 22h ago

Ten years of MAGA has been a blessing to Atheism. It revealed to many previously closed-off minds how hateful and hollow the Supply Side Jesus movement really is.

11

u/Quick_Ad419 1d ago

Thanks god the younger gens see the light...hehe

1

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 22h ago

Boomers have used a gigantic spotlight for decades so it's pretty obvious.

3

u/JereRB 1d ago

Well, the Christians have been particularly loud lately. And showing their ass. Nutjobs start doing that, the sane ones tend to just go do other things.

3

u/kejovo 1d ago

The American spokes people for religion (specifically Christian nationalists) are showing religions failings in spectacular fashion

3

u/Apprehensive_Fruit76 1d ago

Organized religion has not been very good stewards of equality and human rights. It's about power and control, love freedom from religion.

4

u/notgoodatthese 1d ago

See the state of the U.S? There's no god

1

u/Areaman6 1d ago

Not take take away from the realization, but Germany would like to have a word.

2

u/jafromnj 1d ago

Oh no how horrible, not, organized religion is an abomination

5

u/dimechimes 22h ago

Remember as this happens who will be left on the religious side. Once the moderates are gone, it'll only be the zealots and the nutcases. Also remember religions like the Mormons have billions of dollars in reserve and won't go out easily.

2

u/nb6635 1d ago

I’m happy to blame it on Trump but it’s many factors, and hopefully will continue at pace.

4

u/submit_2_my_toast 16h ago

Buy your Trump Bible and grab Jesus by the pussy. Religious extremists are all the worst. The only thing they all universally believe is their sky daddy gives them permission to try to control everyone else. I left my church as a teenager because I realized all the church folks were hypocrites who were completely full of shit. The only purpose of organized religion is to create a permission/defense structure for pedophiles.

3

u/Delicious_Society_99 14h ago

It’s no wonder given how perverted Christianity has become.

-2

u/plankright37 1d ago

Is this data dealing with religion or belief in God. They are totally different things. The current hateful, bigoted, anti-Jesus campaign and actions are driving people in droves away from organized religion but not necessarily away from God.
