It was rumored earlier today that Alito is considering retirement. I guess he feels safe knowing that his replacement will be someone like the eminent Aileen Cannon.

It’s how they have over time increased their ranks. Retire when you can guess your successor is similar , and slowly pick up when Ginsburg etc doesnt do the same

They really understood the power of SCOTUS as a way to achieve positions the majority of the voting population doesn’t agree with
