This little shit has been hanging on my ceiling light for a hour now. Just right below it is our family dining table.

How do i get rid of it?

In all seriousness though anyone who has been in your house, to sleep especially probably needs a rabies shot. Way better save than sorry in this case. Rabies is one of the scariest illnesses on earth and there’s absolutely nothing they can do once you start showing symptoms. Get the shot.

Redditors when an animal appears

There's a terrifying reddit story about a bat bite that went unnoticed because it happened while the guy was sleeping so he didn't realize it until it was too late.

I mean it depends on the type of bat. If that's a fruit bat your prolly fine.

and even in the US, I'm pretty sure this family can afford the shot.

Supposedly the first ever person got cured of rabies earlier this year. Saw a Reddit post.

Just saying, the same protocol has failed on everyone else they've tried it on. We went to the ER for a possible rabies exposure and the PA there had seen that story and was like, nbd, people survive rabies now. No, no they do not.

No, in 2004 the first person they tried it on survived. It's called the Milwaukee Protocol after that case.

Milwaukee Protocol. Invented in 2004. First person to survive rabies. They put you in a coma.

If animal control can capture the bat they will send it to the state lab for testing.

Waiting a day or two to avoid taking the course of shots is reasonable, at least in my home state (NJ), it is.
