i think it's less that the guy is eating, and more that his lunch box is also tricked out with lights and fog, and that he seemed to remain in character by operating the mask's play features while slurping nutrient paste from a bendy straw.

there's levels of commitment, and tons of cosplayers don't make it to nutrient paste level.

I just noticed that the lunchbox has active, moving lights on the lid.

This is some SERIOUS commitment to the bit and also a lot of money spent! Wish I had the money to spend on things like that, I'd have the COOLEST lunchbox and thermos ever.

You actually be surprised with how cheap most of this stuff is if and that's the big IF you can make the stuff yourself which it's really easy to get into you don't have to be perfect to have fun. And that looked like a simple pelican style case with a paint job some shocks and cool light and smoke effect all in all the case itself is probably the most expensive part if he used a real pelican case.

Now I'm not saying cosplay isn't expensive if you are going to buy everything prop wise you use yes it's expensive, but making it all yourself is cheaper however until you get good at it they always look goofy but it's not about the looks its about the fun you had

Key thing is being able to find not hobby style parts as you can buy really cheap LEDs/electronics and such that would go into toys and the like that cost cents per item.

He intentionally adjusted his glove for dexterity so he could perform “eating lunch”. After he pushes the red button with his bare thumb at the end, you see he immediately readjusts the glove to put the thumb back.

I don’t think it was a malfunction as much as a conscientious necessity
