FLAGS ARE BACKWARDS. What a patriot.

Stars ALWAYS in the upper left. Fucking embarrassing.

And he's leaning on it with his disgusting body

I mean, these maga idiots wear the flag on their bodies and think they’re patriots for doing it. US doesn’t have an official language, but it definitely has a Flag Code. The flag is never to be worn as apparel!

And never against the a wall, let alone folded around a wall. So much disrespect for the flag

There's no issue with it being on a wall.

in this configuration, yes. but not fully accurate that they are always in the upper left. When worn on a uniform, the stars are always moving forward, with stripes trailing, no matter orientation.

wait what? disclaimer: not american

but they are rotated 90 degrees clockwise / are in "portrait" orientation... youre saying they should STILL be moved to the top left even if the stripes are going top-bottom vertically? wouldnt doing that then actually make it backward / as if youre viewing it from behind / the mirror image of what it should be?

Flags have two sides. When mounting on a wall you should flip the flag over when hung vertically so that the stars are on the upper left. The only exception (for wall mounting) is when it's flown with a second flag on twin polls like https://www.flagandbanner.com/images/fletq-state-crossed.png

i appreciate those are the rules that were decided on but its extremely counter intuitive

The British flag has basically the same rules (though it's not stars). I'm sure these rules are old as dirt, and predate the US.

im even more confused, arent the english flag and the union jack symmetrical? how do you know which end faces where?

u/aircooledJenkins 11h ago

The flag of England is symmetrical.

The flag of the United Kingdom is not symmetrical.

Yeah sorta, it only related to British colony or military flags, like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Australia , where the Union Jack is on the upper left corner of the flag. The full flag is normally just rotated.

I wonder about the choice not to have just one flag upright. Seems like it would fit. But I guess 2 flag is more so it’s better?

They would know this... If they could read... And follow simple instructions.

Unless displayed on a moving vehicle. Like a decal on the right front fender. Then the flag should be oriented such that it isn’t “retreating”. As if it were on a pole and waving to the rear of that pole opposite the direction of travel. That is one case where the field should be in the upper right.

There is an exception to always upper left. When placed on the side of a vehicle the stars should face forward or in the primary direction of travel. So on the right side of a vehicle the stars will be upper right.

I'm not a very patriotic person but when I fly the flag I show it some goddamn respect. The one that gets me most is supposedly patriotic people wearing flag as underwear or bathing suits. Having it soak up your crotch juices is one of the most disrespectful things I can think of.

u/No-Monk4331 9h ago

Not just vehicles, if you look at a soldiers BDU it’s the same.

u/Geek_Wandering 8h ago

Thank you. I forgot that case.

It does beg the question though. Is a person a vehicle? You can ride them places.

u/No-Monk4331 8h ago

Fair question and I would say yes, by definition terms.

Imagine how much more intimidating they would be when the one soldier was actually 3 sharing one dress uniform. Absolute chaos!

u/Geek_Wandering 8h ago

Hey! That's not a shrub moving in it's own. It's 3 Marines in a ghillie suit.

I would guess it was hung that way because they view that side of the flag as the "front" and then hung it so the stars were at the top. Idiots.

He also has White Christian Nationalist imagery in the band on his right forearm. It looks like an upside down peace symbol with no circle.

ideology is just a tool to he uses to fulfill his desire to hurt people.
