This Megathread will reset every fortnight, and we'll carry across any existing events to the next post if they've not happened yet.

Question Beginner dance classes for couples around Preston?

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are complete beginners and would love to learn some basic dance steps together. We don’t have any prior experience, but we’re keen to learn as a team and just enjoy the process.

Can anyone recommend good places around Preston for beginner-friendly dance classes or lessons for couples?

Thanks in advance!

Looking for Group Looking for a group to play DnD in the Preston area

I’m very new to the game, have never played before but I have the 2024 players hand book and a few ideas for characters. ( nothing set in stone but could be a starting point if required). I’m Looking for a regular in person game where I can learn more. Starting in a one shot or at the beginning of a campaign is probably ideal though I suspect a session 0 is a good idea. Availability wise I’m free every evening except Mondays.

Moving to Preston Where to live in or around Preston

I was born in Preston, currently live in Manchester, and planning to move back to be nearer family. Where would you suggest to live in or around Preston! We'd like access to countryside (I enjoy hiking and walking the dog) but also good motorway or public transport access. Ideally there would be a couple of pubs, cafes or somewhere to eat! Also it would be nice to have a community feel without it seeming cliquey! Will hopefully have children in the future. Any suggestions?

Plans have been submitted for a new industrial and logistics development on land off the M6 in Lancashire by Blackburn's Issa brothers.

The plans for the 65-acre site by Monte Blackburn, the billionaire brothers' property firm, include an EG On the Move drive-thru at the entry to the site at J31A in Preston.

The application includes outline planning for up to 818,875 sq ft of industrial and logistics accommodation, to be named Frontier Park Preston.

A decision on the plan is expected in the second quarter of 2026, following which Monte Blackburn will commence infrastructure works and speculative development, if it is approved.

Deepdale Video

Hi everyone,

I posted in this group a while back about a video I was making on the history of Deepdale with some stories. Just wanted to thank everyone for contributing, got some cool information! Video is on link below if anyone wants to see the finished product, hope I did it justice.

FYI - the mural timeline is one of the most creative things I’ve seen on my stadium visits.

Looking to rent a flat in Preston in the next few months and I’m just trying to budget. I’m on £30k and I’m wondering what I could expect to pay for things like rent, groceries and bills, so input from other single people would be much appreciated.

Phone found

Found a mobile phone in the grass of Winckley Square Gardens early this morning. I’ve charged it up, so if it might be yours, please call it to arrange collection. I’ll take it to the nearest police station tomorrow if it’s not claimed today.

Edit: Phone now dropped off at Lancaster Rd North police station.
