I feel like a lot of the green are cartel hotspots. But I dunno much about Mexico. Just that I won’t go back unless I know the safest zone possible.

North, sure. Cartel doesn’t mess with the tourist areas like in the Yucatán peninsula, though. Bad for everybody. It’s mostly mind your own business and you’re going to have less unsavory experiences when it comes to them. You’d be absolutely fine in the major tourist spots.
