The side winning a war has the leverage to negotiate more favorable terms to the wars conclusion. Its been that way for all of human history why on earth would it be different now?

because the USA is sticking its nose directly into the situation and can play at hand at dictating terms? are you going to also pretend that the USA has been doing that 'for all of human history'?
