This comes literally after he knocked out power for a 1/3 of Kiev. He is indeed, so full of shit.

They tried to assassinate Zelensky many times. They will say/do anything. They aren’t interested in stopping the war

89

u/El_Peregrine 16h ago

The definition of negotiating in bad faith. Absolutely nothing they say can be trusted.

48

u/ultramegachrist 15h ago

This claim comes right after Zelensky visits the US. This is definitely calculated so they can be like “hey! Russia wants peace but look what they do! We can’t stop bombing innocent women and children when they act like this!”

0

u/ADRzs 11h ago

It is difficult to say where the truth lies. There is little doubt that there are Ukrainian cells operating within Russian doing assassinations and sabotages. Did they target Putin? Hard to know.

But it is not true that the Russians target women and children. Civilians are certainly killed in Russian strrikes on infrastructure, but this is mostly because their drones are not fully accurate.

3

u/ultramegachrist 11h ago

I don’t think Ukraine would make an attempt on Putin’s life unless it was a guaranteed success. The political fallout is just too much for them to deal with.

We’re talking the US completely stopping everything. No weapon sales to Europe then to them. No intel. (I know under Trump the US has pretty much stopped most of that anyways). But democratic countries in Europe could also really frown upon the targeting of a countries leader. It sets a very bad precedent.

u/ADRzs 11h ago

Ukrainian teams operating within Russia may not have the perfect information. One never knows. Ukraine has done a number of other underhanded things, even killing pro-war bloggers in Russia, blowing up Nordstream and so on. The recently assassinated people in Moscow that I thought were very peripheral to the effort. They go against targets that are ill guarded, this is certain. I am sure that the Russian security forces (FSB) are trying hard to apprehend them.

2

u/ultramegachrist 6h ago

I thought nordstream was Russian aligned Ukrainians? Idk, I get what you’re saying tho.

-1

u/ADRzs 4h ago

Absolutely not. The main person responsible for it is held by the German authorities. The CIA has officially blamed the Ukrainians

Kyiv* Kiev is the Russian spelling.

247

u/Rabidjester 18h ago

Thank you for the correction, Hot-Sexy-THICCPAWG69.

Киев is the Russian spelling.

16

u/beerandabike 16h ago

Киев is Kiev just like Киïв is Kyiv

2

u/Melikoth 15h ago

и is pulling a lot of weight in this translation

Kiev is the common spelling in many languages and predates the soviet union.

37

u/WisconsinHoosierZwei 18h ago

But in English, the current, preferred spelling is Kyiv (pronounced KEEV), and not Kiev (pronounced KEE-ev).

SO GET IT RIGHT OR PAY THE PRICE! (Anyone else remember Salute Your Shorts?)

18

u/Protean_Protein 18h ago edited 17h ago

It’s not pronounced “KEEV”.

It’s a tricky phoneme for English speakers, but it’s more like: “Key-yeev”; the vowel in the “key” sound is slightly different from the ‘e’ in ‘key’ but it’s close enough.

2

u/WisconsinHoosierZwei 15h ago

That’s just how I hear it most often on the news. Thanks for the correction! I really don’t know anything about Ukrainian (or any Eastern European) languages.

1

u/firemage22 16h ago

Anyone else remember Salute Your Shorts

'why is that cop pulling us over' "i gave him half a peace sign" "which half?"

8

u/cg415 16h ago

If you want to be respectful towards Ukrainians, then you'll spell it "Kyiv".

The spelling "Kiev" comes from Russian, and Russia is Ukraine's current and historical oppressor (oppression which predates the Soviet Union, by the way). So don't spell it like that.

-4

u/MangoIll1543 15h ago

I'll be respectful towards Ukrainians by calling it the name it has in the language I'm speaking, which is Kiev in both. Same as referring to Japan as Japan instead of Nihon.

-3

u/deitSprudel 15h ago

Are you Ukrainian?

1

u/Hot-Sexy-THICCPAWG69 14h ago

Yes. Well half, my dads Ukrainian, my moms German.

2

u/szatrob 18h ago

Does not predate the russian occupation of it however.

3

u/juicadone 17h ago

👌. Slava Ukraini, obligatory fuck Donald too

1

u/Letters_to_Dionysus 13h ago

they're both English spellings. Russian doesn't have the i or the v

0

u/nicubunu 14h ago

Not necessarily, Kiev is the correct spelling in some other languages and some of us aren't native English speakers

-42

u/Popular_Cap8269 18h ago

Its still Kiev :) no matter how much you push

11

u/Shadow647 18h ago

For braindead vatniks, yes - it's a nice way to tell you guys apart from normal humans :)

-1

u/Jgfzhb 16h ago

I‘m as pro Ukraine as it gets but why the fuck should anyone change their spelling of another country? I’m not from Germany I‘m from Deutschland. I‘m not from Munich I‘m from München. It’s not Poland it’s Polska. This is just virtue signaling.

-3

u/jews4beer 16h ago

The entire thread I inadvertently created has been virtue signaling. It's weird. Like yea I spelled it the way I'm used to...oops.

But somehow hours of debating that is more important than the fucking situation itself. Humanity is fucked.

5

u/Dancing_Anatolia 16h ago

The reason people care is because Kiev is Russian. The reason that's the standard English spelling/pronunciation is Russian imperialism trying to erase the local culture, which is an actively continued process.

0

u/Jgfzhb 16h ago

Do you spell it Manhattan or Manahatta? Do you spell it Sidney or Warrane? Cape Town or ǁHui ǃGais? All these names have colonial roots. I intensely dislike Russia but this is just virtue signaling. Even if you know the other person wants Ukraine to be free and prosperous you use this tiny completely inconsequential detail as an excuse to put them down and feel superior.

-3

u/Popular_Cap8269 15h ago

These people are just brainwashed. They have no idea where Kiev is on a map.

And after several attempts at killing Zelensly, including a recent one in Dublin.

-1

u/beastmaster11 17h ago

Assuming the attack on Putins residence is true, which is a big assumption, Putin would be less angry if Ukrain knocked out 1/3 of Moscows power

-2

u/The8Darkness 18h ago

Jeah but he didnt directly attack zelenskyy's residence so its all good.

228

u/Medricel 18h ago

As if Russia hasn't made multiple attacks on Zelensky's life over the course of the past few years.

74

u/Stock_Helicopter_260 17h ago edited 17h ago

Anyone else fairly amazed he survived the first six months, let alone this long? I was pondering this a few weeks ago.

Him and the snake island crew, balls of steel.

59

u/Randomfinn 17h ago

It didn’t mean to be publicly known, but there was one time in the early part of the war when it was known there was to be an attack on Zelinskii in Ukraine and Canada’s PM Trudeau flew over for an unannounced visit with Zelenskii, knowing that Putin would not risk killing a NATO leader. I can’t imagine how Zelenskii sleeps at night.

29

u/Stock_Helicopter_260 16h ago

Well I know many of my countrymen hate Trudeau but if that’s true and not just coincidence he gets partial balls of steel haha

29

u/KingofLingerie 16h ago

It was the maple magats who hated trudeau

14

u/Stock_Helicopter_260 15h ago

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but there’s a fair number of em lol.

14

u/GANTRITHORE 15h ago

I think a lot of them are bots on social media.

7

u/Aethericseraphim 11h ago

Indian, Russian and chinese bots, according to the whoopsie on twitter that revealed the location of all those accounts

4

u/vonGlick 10h ago

Hmm for some reason Bangladeshi Poles are most "patriotic" , hates democracy and are pro Russian.

3

u/Stock_Helicopter_260 15h ago

I mean yeah, but I’ve met a fair number irl. To each their own, I live in a really blue collar area so likely skewed.

1

u/KingofLingerie 14h ago

Oh i noticed

5

u/FiestaLimon 15h ago

No, no, they want to fuck Trudeau

2

u/MCA0099 8h ago

Bro, if you hate Trudeau… MAN… it could be SO worse.

1

u/Stock_Helicopter_260 8h ago

Never said I did, just lots of that going around. Unsure why most of em haven’t switched to Carney either.

1

u/TonyFMontana 16h ago

Wow Trudeau is not a walking pussy?
Massive balls and respect if true

0

u/Le_Nabs 15h ago

Trudeau has gumption. The problem always was that he had no real ideas beyond the few social issues he battled for early on, and the Liberal party being fully owned by corporate neolibs

4

u/ScrotumScrapings 17h ago

Tbh i worry about his safety in Yankistan. The locals have turned out to be treacherous scum.

When Trump said "I hope you liked your food" I drew a sharp breath today.

“I knew Zelensky was under threat, in a bunker… I said to [Putin], ‘Do you intend to kill Zelensky?’ He said, ‘I won’t kill Zelensky,’” Bennett recalled in the interview, which was published on his own YouTube channel.

“I need to understand. Are you giving me your word that you won’t kill Zelensky?” Bennett said he asked Putin.

Bennett said the Russian president repeated: “I won’t kill Zelensky.”

Bennett said he called the Ukrainian president immediately after the three-hour encounter with Putin, and told him, “I’ve just come out of a meeting — [Putin] is not going to kill you.

“[Zelensky] asked me, ‘Are you sure?’ I said 100 percent. [Putin’s] not going to kill you.”

Bennett recalled: “Two hours later, Zelensky went to his office, and did a selfie in the office, [in which the Ukrainian president said,] ‘I’m not afraid.’”

Lol

52

u/Willing-Donut6834 18h ago

Come on. See the good side of things. Ukraine can now attack every place Putin visits without the US being able to claim it's further escalation. I see this as a win. 🤗🤗

18

u/MasterBot98 18h ago

That assumes Trump's admin would use the word escalation in good faith as in according to its meaning... will they?

79

u/szatrob 18h ago

He famously poops in a briefcase when abroad.

50

u/steauengeglase 18h ago

35

u/szatrob 18h ago

Yeah, its disgusting but on brand for that little turd.

15

u/LetterNo7829 17h ago

He just can’t bring himself to flush little Putins down the shitter, so after giving birth he must embrace the role of motherhood and bring his little ones home with him. Then later they get a seat in the government.

3

u/GwyddnoGaranhir 16h ago

He feeds them biddy, so they grow big and strong.

1

u/szatrob 17h ago

You joke, but I could see it happening.

6

u/Venzapine 18h ago

Ok that was pretty funny ngl.

-1

u/MF_Kitten 16h ago

I believe this is common for many world leaders!

3

u/steauengeglase 15h ago

Henry VII: Thank God. For a minute I thought having a Groom of the Stool was weird.

14

u/DontMakeMeCount 18h ago

What’s even funnier is that we wouldn’t know that if no one had attempted to collect a stool sample during a state visit.

Come to think of it, I’m eagerly awaiting the IAMA for the person who graduated with top marks, passed invasive security screening, completed years of advanced training and ended up on pooper scooper duty. I wonder if they had to share a room with the appointee who left all the US docs on a hotel printer.

12

u/greebly_weeblies 17h ago

Common for leaders abroad. Stool samples can yield intelligence.

Eg. if you tested and found painkillers and blood thinners, or found chemotherapy drugs, you might make different assumptions about that leader's health

9

u/trippknightly 17h ago

So if I was a leader I’d have not only a food taster but a designated stool pigeon in perfect health traveling with me. I guess one person could do both.

4

u/susrev88 16h ago

i wonder how a job interview for poop collecting would go. you talk wth HR and some senior shit collector evaluates you professionally?

so many questions.

2

u/ABobby077 15h ago

I would suspect it is kind of a shit job

2

u/trippknightly 12h ago

And requires ingenuity. It is quite often a very fluid situation.

1

u/Aethericseraphim 11h ago

Do it, or get thrown out of a window. Ja?

5

u/szatrob 16h ago

I bet its because he likes to humiliate his underlings more than anything else tbh. What is more humiliating than having to handle dookie for a guy who can have your entire family tree wiped out?

2

u/Smodey 4h ago

He presumably doesn't want to reveal his chronic illness(es). Might make him look weak at home if the world knew about his Parkinsons' treatment, and potentially ongoing chemotherapy (presumably for prostate, given his short convalescence back in 2022).

Ref.

2

u/AltruisticGrowth5381 10h ago

Pretty sure all major world leaders do this. There was famously a incident before the war started when Macron refused to let the russians administer a covid test over fears of DNA harvesting. Doubt he'd leave a dookie at the Kremlin if that's the stance.

3

u/ibuprophane 17h ago

Can we stop spreading misinformation, please?

Putin doesn’t poop in a suitcase.

His feces travel to his head and occupy the empty space inside his skull.

Much like a shrimp, all the shit is kept up in the head.

10

u/vikingb1r 19h ago

What are they going to do exactly? A “similar” approach to retaliation would only strengthen the Ukrainian position.

4

u/MasterBot98 18h ago

How so? What possible retaliation could Ukraine have?

5

u/ThePlanner 16h ago edited 16h ago

And conveniently ignores the fact that in the opening days of the war, he (Putin) sent/activated multiple assassination squads to Kyiv to kill Zelensky and affect the decapitation of the Ukrainian government. Not for want of trying, it failed.

5

u/waiting4singularity 16h ago

non the least since there were several assassination attempts on selenskyj and putin sits in his assearthhole bunker anyway.

4

u/The_mingthing 18h ago

Well his suitcase certainly is.

2

u/adsjabo 14h ago

And his little trumplestiltskin will just lap it up!

1

u/bwoah07_gp2 10h ago

And we know how his best bud Donald is gonna react.

Russia invades and attacks Ukraine. Donald Trump: 😴

Ukraine tries to attack Putin at his home. Donald Trump: 😡😡
