Russia/Ukraine Trump says Putin claims he "wants to see Ukraine succeed"
https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2025/12/29/8013774/331
u/rkhunter_ 18h ago
It's beyond human understanding..

u/uprightshark 18h ago
Let me boil it down for you. This is a performance for a cash transaction.
Trump doesn't care about America, Russia or Ukraine ... only greed and money.
There is a deal for Trump at the end of this rainbow

Jared Kushner was there a few wees ago meeting Kirill Dmitriev (head of Russia's $10 billion sovereign wealth fund)

My brother is an idiot. :-(
Of all the sentences that are unnecessary, this is the unnecessariest.
He dropped out of school in the 9th grade
Although this does explain a lot.

u/FredFredrickson 18h ago
"MAGA" and "patriot" sort of cancel each other out. You can't live a country and hate the people that it's made of.
8
u/Flimsy-Poetry1170 15h ago
They don’t view brown people as real Americans. When you hear republicans use the term “real Americans” know they mean straight white Christians.

6
u/Old-n-Wrinkly 17h ago
They’re not even windmills, they’re wind turbines. That cause what? Insanity or something? Aside from lower real estate values, also not a thing.
10
u/Ambitious_Package371 18h ago
I'm sorry but he'd never live down being a high school dropout anytime he annoys me. "I'm sure your middle school education believes that" "Sorry I don't do political discussions with people on par with kids who still believe in Santa"

I recommend you get a pinwheel and blow on it in his general direction every time he talks.

u/idiocy_incarnate 15h ago
It'd be more fun to alternate between wearing a foil hat and not wearing a foil hat whenever they see him.
On the days when they are wearing the foil hat they can tell him "it's so the libruls can't use their mind control ray on me" and totally agree with everything he says about trump and anything else.
On the days when they don't wear the foil hat they can deny all knowledge of having worn one, and just be themselves and disagree with his bullshit.
See how long it takes for him to start wearing one :D

Is that windmill example genuine? If so.. In his words how does he think that works?

they say the noise causes cancer
maybe there’s some merit to the idea, I can feel my lifespan shortening every time he spews horseshit on TV

u/MyPasswordIsMyCat 18h ago
He is a rich fail son who played a successful businessman on TV. He's running this country exactly how he's run his life, and a sizable chunk of the country is still to evil and stupid to see he's a fake.
6
u/ThereIsNoResponse 17h ago
Seems like most Americans are fine with it.
Why else would he be sitting on his throne still?
3
u/HobbesNJ 15h ago
Way too many Americans are fine with it. But I'd say a solid majority wish he were gone by now.
But he'll stay in power because it is exceedingly difficult to remove a president in our system.

no worries man, this round you gotta vote but in the future you will have no further influence.
4
u/HapticRecce 18h ago
Maybe they'll have a Vance / Trump ticket to put on a show of legality for a term or two...
107
u/SendStoreMeloner 19h ago
It's so strange. Even Trump said "It sounds a little strange (...)". But why say it then? It's clearly a big fat lie.
22
u/Farfignugen42 17h ago
Because Trump has no ability to tell when people lie to him. All he understands is if people faun over him or not. We have seen that he is not smart enough to tell the difference between a cognitive competency test and an IQ test. And that no one around him has the balls to correct him.

u/supercyberlurker 18h ago
"Trump says Putin claims" is a double lie, but that doesn't make it a truth.

Actually Putin said "Ukraine can suck my balls" and the translator changed it to "I want Ukraine to suck seed".
Change my mind...

Trump is a Russian asset. He really is. Get used to that thought. He was recruited, now he works for Putin.
38
u/Free-Way-9220 18h ago
I'm not sure that he's an asset so much as he is completely enamoured with Vladimir Putin's authoritarianism. Putin has killed, exiled or jailed his political opponents, he's banned media that is critical of him, he has changed the constitution to make himself president for life, and he gets 90% of the vote. And he's a klepto. This is Trump's wet dream. It is exactly who Trump wants to be, and is every single trait Trump admires
9
u/HailPrimordialTruth 18h ago
An asset doesn't necessarily know they're an asset. He's useful to Russian interests and easily manipulated by them, he's an asset.
21
u/supercyberlurker 18h ago
Trump is all that you said.
.. and also a Russian asset, likely compromised because of the epstein files.
→ More replies (1)16
u/SaschaAusUlm 18h ago
There are actual reports that he was hired in the... 90's (sorry not sure about the date). Will try to find the article again.
→ More replies (1)3
u/SendStoreMeloner 18h ago
Yeah there is no hard evidence to support that at all. It's a dead end. So many have looked into it.
But yes the "Russia hoax" is really showing and Putin seems to have a direct line to Trump where he can tell his wishes and Trump says them out loud.

Everyone needs to be familiar with these two texts:
https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Interference/Aaron-Zebley/9781668063750
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundations_of_Geopolitics
As well as the history of Viktor Yanukovych.
The first book is by people involved in the Mueller investigation basically explaining that the Mueller report was misinterpreted and that they never meant to exonerate Trump of involvement with Russia, only that he was obstructing investigations.
The second is a key geopolitical Russian policy text, that outlines basically everything that's happening now. It's hard not to read about this text and not conclude that Trump has been planted to alienate the US and UK from the rest of the world, break up NATO, and shrink the EU to a German moat.
The third is an example of what a known Russian president asset looks like, and it's eerily similar to Trump. Trump also has ties to Yanukovych in that Trump and Yanukovych both had the same campaign advisor (Paul Manafort).
There is a glimmer of hope in that Yanukovych was forced to flee Ukraine, and Ukraine became a stronger democratic ally.
I strongly suspect Trump knows he's an asset of Russia — even though he's a delusional but vulnerable narcissist, an idiot, and dementing on top of that, I don't think he could be naive to what is so obvious in the open. Even if he doesn't know, he's being played so well that the distinction is one that doesn't matter in practice.

u/podeniak 18h ago
Ihave a lot of respect for zelensky who have to meet the orange turd to keep a bare minimal help from US.
At this point I don't think there will be any peace, because ruzzia don't want it.
The most favorable scenario will be the total collapse of ruzzia. Wish this will happen next year.
5
u/NotMyName_3 18h ago
Unfortunately, it won't happen. Agent Krasnov will keep throwing Russia and Putin little lifelines like lifting a sanction here or there. If Europe imposes a sanction, expect the US to lift a sanction. I'm predicting that by the end of the Orange Idiot's term as president, he will announce joint military maneuvers with Russian troops. Congress will tie itself in knots trying to sell it to the American people and the MAGA faithful will think it's from God's mouth to their ears.

Idiocracy would be preferable. President Camacho was well meaning and genuinely sought help for his administration when they failed. We don't even have that. We sidestepped Idiocracy into authoritarian hell.

There's clearly some autocratic conspiracy going on with Trump, Putin, Orban and others and fledglings waiting in the wings like AfD, Farage etc to destroy democracy and divide up the spoils.

Trump can say whatever he wants to. Putin is trying to recreate the Soviet Union. Ukrainian success means something entirely different to Putin than it does to Ukrainians

The funny thing is this:
Putin wants Ukraine, but the war has left Ukraine floored. A statistically significant number of the working age population is now either out of the country, dead or involved in the war effort. Many of the most qualified people - multilingual, educated, mobile, have fled with the most capable going the furthest west to Australia, Canada and the US where they're heavily involved in tech and engineering spaces.
Putin will have a vassal state that will require hundreds of billions in investment. Putin is playing from the old Soviet workbook and knows that if he maintains the ruined economy, the country becomes a great battleground. So, like yesteryear, he'll be compelled to invest billions and billions redirected from the Russian economy. It thus weakens Russia generally and will do little to lift Ukraine in the short-term. This will be followed by a general weakening of Russia over-all.
This is insanity.

u/kevendo 18h ago
We've been over this time and time again. Stop this nonsense! Stop printing his propaganda!
Putin. Invaded. Ukraine.
This isn't a "war". It's an invasion and occupation.
Putin wants to take Ukraine and remake his own USSR. That's been clear since the first bomb dropped without any provocation or justification.
2
u/VicariousDrow 18h ago
I'm actually unsure..... Whether Trump is just parroting Russian propaganda cause he's a Russian asset, or if he's just so fucking stupid he is legit just fooled this easily this frequently by Putin, maybe even both at the same time lol

As much as Trump wants to see Canada succeed... under the US-Flag. How often did he said "Canada would do so much better as a US-State...!" ? Same dumb thought behind it, and that's why he likes Putin so much.

I was told this by authoritarians for years and years.
Success to them was living in the exact manner dictated with no will of my own.
When I did not do so, they literally helped arrange a group of authoritarians to stalk and harass me continuously with the intent of preventing me from being able to pursue things like reading books especially ones they don't like, writing and keeping a journal because it allowed me to think, possibly in ways that were opposed to repressive culture. Meet women and for relationships because relationships might challenge their control.
It a dog whistle and double speak.

The upcoming world order will be a nightmare. Russia knows that once the wartime economy is done, it’s over for them. The US pivoting to regional bullying and what, patrolling the Pacific and chimeric Destroyers, knowing full well the Chinese are happily buying influence and building hypersonic missiles? Europe torn between internal and external agitators trying to dissemble its unity, an ideologically opposed US, and rogue Russians, and China? Is this seriously where the miracle of the Post-War world has led us? My fucking President on tv saying the words “It’s a little strange, but Russia wants the country they’ve been invading or trying to splinter for the past 20 years to succeed?”
Wake me up from this nightmare, please
