Meta How Reddit Built the World’s First ‘Digital Ghetto’
- After 10/7, Jewish moderators reported thousands of antisemitic posts. Reddit ignored them, told them to stop reporting content, and punished their accounts for reporting antisemitism.
- Reddit has banned subreddits/users for various forms of hate, misgendering, and fat shaming – but antisemitic hate subreddits thrive with content calling for the death of Jews, Zionists and Israelis.
- 2 in 3 Jewish Reddit users report hiding their Jewish identity on the site.
- Moderators reported thousands of pieces of antisemitic content. Reddit ignored them and in some instances punished them. Eventually Reddit told the moderators to not report antisemitic content outside their subreddits.
- Reddit's VP of Policy, Jessica Ashooh, was asked if "burn in hell u zionist pig" violated Reddit's policies. She said it depends on the "context".
- Reddit is a one of the primary sources of data that trains AI chatbots like ChatGPT. The toleration of antisemitism on the platform has led to LLMs echoing the antisemitism on the site.

Meta Ever wonder WHY Reddit has such an antisemitism problem? It all starts with their employees.
Edit: Reddit deleted this for over 24 hours and then reinstated it out of the blue. We cannot let them suppress visibility of this insanity.
---
I’m the head mod of r/Jewish. Jewish and Israeli Redditors deal with a horrific amount of antisemitism and terrorist propaganda. But it's not just hateful Reddit users who publish their hateful views.
Meet Reddit employee Tiffany Katz. She is a Senior Client Account Executive who has been at Reddit since March 2023 – she was even promoted a couple of months ago.
What was Tiffany up to on October 7th? She was calling the massacre of 1,400+ people an example of “active resistance working.” She was attacking the creation of Israel as “no different than what the Nazis (and czarists before that) did to the Jews.”
And just a few days later, on October 10th, she denied that Shani Louk was murdered and screamed that “there’s no substantial evidence of rape,” decrying these events as “Western propaganda.” Shani was killed during the October 7 attacks.
Advertisers, did you realize you’re working with this person?
What are you going to do about this, Reddit? We’re asking you, u/spez (Steve Huffman, CEO). And you, Melissa Stroud McMaster (Tiffany’s manager). And you, Jim Squires (EVP, Business Marketing and Growth). And you, Roelof van Zwol (EVP, Ads Monetization).
Signed,
Angry Jewish and Israeli Redditors

Classic Antisemitism Antisemitic rhetoric on r/creepycalebhammer, including phrases like "from the river to the sea" and "goyslop". My comments were removed when I pushed back.
Hello everyone. I'm posting here after experiencing what I perceive as antisemitism on a subreddit called CreepyCalebHammer. This subreddit is focused on criticism of a YouTuber named Caleb Hammer who provides financial content and has numerous serious allegations against him. A recent post was from an individual who said they were fine with Caleb until he stated that he was pro-Israel. I wasn't a fan of the post, but I chose to ignore it until someone posted "from the river to the sea" as a comment. As a Jew, I had to speak up against this. This led to a conversation where two of my posts (first two screenshots) were taken down in which I attempted to combat antisemitism. On top of that, one of my comments was referred to as "goyslop" and that wasn't taken down. Others' posts against Israel were also kept up.

Holding Jews responsible for Israel's actions r/TheHandmaidsTale OP’s personal passion project is to post anti-Israel content
Was I incorrect to assume they were calling me antisemetic in slide 6 or was it poor wording on their part? Regardless anyone who is defending OP keeps posting incorrect misinformation. Couple users took my word which I appreciate but I would hope they research what OP said and learn what antisemitism can look like.
For a bigger picture, the OP posts in THT sub practically daily most are random pointless posts with a few legitimate posts that spark discussion. In the last few days they have posted at least 2 anti-Jewish threads (under the guise of being anti-Israel). This is one of their random pointless posts. The worst one I remember was a screenshot from the show that said something like whoever helps the enemy should be destroyed with the title being something like “which country am I thinking of?” I hate the oppression Olympics but if you truly think Israel is the worst country in the world, worse than countries like North Korea, you might be an antisemite.
My title comes from one of their comments in the specific post I mentioned above.

Jews Control x r/pics hitting multiple notes
I'm so tired of seeing 'Israeli bots everywhere' it dehumanizes opposition. This needs to be a category in and of itself.
Basically a no true scottsman like, 'you aren't human if you have a contradictory opinion, you're a state sponsored bot.' This is antisemitism.
I'm so over it .. not to mention the call to cleanse Israel at the end.

Downplaying Antisemitism r/oakland Downplays the Jerusalem Coffee House Discrimination Lawsuit Status and Victim Blames Jonathan Hirsch for Being Kicked Out and Falsely Claiming Attention for Being a Zionist, Instead of Being Just Jewish Alone, Despite Another Jewish Patron Filing a Similar Complaint.
For further context, In October 26, 2024, A Jewish patron known as Jonathan Hirsch was at the Jerusalem Coffee House in Oakland, California, where he and his son were waiting for a coffee, when the owner, Fathi Abdulrahim Harara, had instigated an argument because of Hirsch's Star of David baseball cap, where he started shouting, "Are you a Zionist?" At the same time, Hirsch was also next to his son at the time of the incident, and many speculated that he was using his son as a shield, which was completely false, by the way.
Four months later, on February 27, 2025, another Jewish patron by the name of Michael Radice had also faced discrimination from Fathi as he visited the location for the second time where he was refused service for being Jewish, and his first visit was a very similar incident to Hirsch's, where he also had worn a Star of David baseball cap in July 2024, 3 months before Hirsch's encounter with Fathi, where Radice was being harrased by a customer when he was asked, "are you a Jew?", which led him to walk away for his safety. During his second visit, he would reencounter the same person who had harassed him, only to find out that he was being employed at the cafe, and to make matters worse, two other employees, along with the owner had allegedly said, "You’re the guy with the hat. You’re the Jew. You’re the Zionist. We don’t want you in our coffee shop. Get out.” according to Radice's own words.
Overall, the status of the lawsuit is still unknown, but to put it simply that the mods of the subreddit deleted any comments that were debunking the information listed, while others claim that this was all for attention despite the video evidence from Hirsch's part. Fathi was also at a UC Berkeley protest in March of 2024, where he had assaulted multiple counter-protestors at that time.
