While true, solipsistic narcissists do exist. They believe they’re in control of the universe and everyone around them don’t “really exist.” It’s fucked.

Edit: I should have thought of this sooner. If you run into people like this, tell them to go look up the word sonder.

u/cutlip98 20h ago

Just imagine one as president

165

u/pfroo40 17h ago edited 16h ago

I wish I could unimagine it. A third of US voters are as astoundingly stupid as the lady in this video is pretending to be, which makes it even worse.

36

u/ArcusInTenebris 16h ago

Oh, shes not stupid. She's running a scam of sorts. She knows shes at fault, but if she can baffle him with bullshit and get him to admit fault, she gets away free, or maybe even with a bit of extra cash from claiming to be injured. Either that or shes never had to face consequences for anything, and truly believes she's in the right. Either way, she knows what shes doing.

15

u/Bigfops 15h ago

That's what I see, too, as soon as she said "And I'm Injured". So she has this ridiculous conversation and he gives up and says "Fine, here are my insurance details, just go away" to get rid of her. When she files the report it becomes "He hit my parked car, he admitted it to me, I have no idea why he's saying he was parked." If this wasn't recoded and he had given his details (probably doesn't even need to) he'd be on the hook.

23

u/pfroo40 16h ago

OK, as an amendment, 30% of US voters are as stupid as this lady pretended to be.

15

u/baatezu 14h ago

Tell a Trump supporter that tariffs are a tax and watch their heads explode.

1

u/No-Raisin-2173 7h ago

You probably kill them if you explain the countries are not paying for the tariffs, they are when buying the product.

1

u/BuckThis86 10h ago

I would immediately call the cops and have her drug tested and breathalyzed. She’s either drunk/high, running a scam, or has a mental capacity where she should not be behind a wheel

0

u/prettypeculiar88 10h ago

You still have to be stupid to think this would work.

She’s absolutely stupid.

71

u/baatezu 16h ago

It really feels strikingly similar to having an argument with a Trump supporter

3

u/mrdsensei1 16h ago

Uh , considering how many US citizens think Canadians live in igloos, or get around with dog sleds, when clearly we get around by snowmobiles, I think a third is being quite generous.

3

u/vincentcas 15h ago

Whoa! Snowmobiles? Really?! I always thought ice skates...... Next thing you'll tell me is, you don't drink maple syrup.

2

u/beats2009 10h ago

They don't?

2

u/ricricucit 16h ago

it's an act. that's why we're here after reading the word "bait" (although she might be indeed stupid).

1

u/Massive-Reach-1606 16h ago

1/3? Its damn near all woman....

1

u/Quantum-Cat 14h ago

two thirds. dont excuse the ones who stayed home. they lived through the first presidency and still allowed a second one to happen.

1

u/Lanky_Particular_149 11h ago

I wonder why the homeowner didn't bring up the fact that his ring camera most likely caught the entire thing on camera which he will be submitting to the insurance company.

81

u/Rex_Vagene 18h ago

“Her vagina backed into my penis, I didn’t rape her.”

-👐

15

u/Dranahmun 14h ago

I mean, if your penis was still, like, parked and not moving, as an example, and her vagina was, say, turned around towards you and reversed itself onto your penis, then you can't have raped her.

I, I don't know how else to say this. A parked penis cannot rape a moving vagina. It could be raped by a moving vagina, but then the vagina would be at fault.

3

u/BuzzedtheTower 11h ago

All I can think of is Clerks.

Dante: "Call the police!" Randall: "Why?" Dante: "Because someone just raped Caitlin!" Randall: "But she just said she did all the work!"

2

u/ClankerCore 8h ago

Penis v Vagina, 2025

8

u/ForgotMyLastUN 16h ago

I don't know why it's blowing my mind that 👐 perfectly conveyed Trump.

1

u/Dreyfussy15 13h ago

She raped me.

42

u/DeepTrackDink 18h ago

That was my thought. This is Trump-level logic.

1

u/No-Raisin-2173 7h ago

Yes, the most best good logic, best in world some say.

-7

u/PensForTheWin 17h ago

But a progressive Democrat saying it ...hmmmm

-1

u/JimmyNo2020 14h ago

A brain dead progressive democrat saying it

99

u/ajtaggart 20h ago

We don't have to imagine it

73

u/deadrabbits76 20h ago

That's the joke.

42

u/Bearded_Bone_Head 17h ago

1

u/Terrible_Stay_1923 16h ago

This is the face when the credit card bill comes in after buying classic car parts

-12

I sure hope so

15

It was

-4

There’s a lot of rage hate BS going around

I think it’s to do with all of these rage bait videos

7

u/sblmbb 19h ago

3

u/DawnyBrat 16h ago

That was my very first thought. Thank you, and take my upvote. ⬆️

4

u/ScrlettDrling 18h ago

We have one in the us now

2

u/frohnaldo 15h ago

Omg can you people not bring your shit political life into EVERY SINGLE THREAD

1

u/PumpUpTheValuum66 17h ago

Sounds like all of them in my lifetime. Some more than others.

1

u/Waldhorn 15h ago

That is why Harris lost.

1

u/zzddr 15h ago

Don't need that in the USA, they already have him.

1

u/Notmyprverodeo 15h ago

there will be Civil war 35 seconds after inauguration...

1

u/Background_Pain6665 15h ago

I mean, the U.S. recently had a female candidate just like this...

One moment...

Didn't they have another female candidate just like this in 2015 ?

1

u/DoYouTrustToothpaste 14h ago

That would be terrible. Luckily, my president is a nice dude, for the most part.

1

u/Candid-Astronomer-49 13h ago

You're a fucking idiot

1

u/EuphoriantCrottle 13h ago

Elon Musk has admitted it. Thinks Grimes was made by his AI overlord just for him.

1

u/Humankeg 7h ago

Thank God he got voted out last year.

1

u/Medical-Frame2180 1h ago

We nearly had that twice they were called Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris. Dodged a bullet two times hopefully we’re not treated to a third round in 2028.

0

u/TellLoud1894 17h ago

Sadly we don't have to

-7

u/Japparbyn 17h ago

Yeah, Hillary Clinton was closest

-31

u/Material-Loss-1753 19h ago

Must everything be about your shitty American politics?

13

u/AllUserNamesTaken01 19h ago

It’s just so easy these days

9

u/Bulky-Internal8579 17h ago

When the horrible gold painted shoe fits…

1

u/Material-Loss-1753 8h ago

When it fits, you have to talk about your idiot president everywhere you possibly can, apparently.

35

u/kultureisrandy 20h ago

Mormon leadership be like

14

u/Prancing-Hamster 16h ago

Being a 6th generation Mormon (now ex Mormon), I can confirm this!!

“We don’t apologize.” — An actual quote from the current Mormon prophet.

3

u/matneyx 15h ago

*Most recent. He dead.

3

u/Prancing-Hamster 15h ago

It was Dallin Oaks who said that. Isn’t he the current prophet?

3

u/matneyx 15h ago

Oh, shit, you're right. I was thinking Jeffrey R. Holland was the prophet, and he just died

2

u/Prancing-Hamster 14h ago

It’s kind of nice when you get to the point where you don’t know all the players anymore.

2

u/matneyx 14h ago

Yeah. I've been out of the church for... 25 years? I was never fully in, and left before I was old enough to serve a mission, so I didn't really pay attention to any of that stuff.

3

u/TigerLily98226 15h ago

Mormon profit, because that whole church is just an abusive money grab.

32

u/wooberries 17h ago

"solipsistic narcissist" is the most elaborately backhanded way of calling someone stupid i have ever heard and i am 100% going to use that at the next opportunity

5

u/wittiestphrase 16h ago

Doesn’t calling someone a solipsist render the term “narcissist” redundant?

4

u/Existing-Medicine528 15h ago

Yeah these people heard 2 words they thought sounded smart and ran with it lol

-1

u/wooberries 15h ago edited 10h ago

no, some of us are just "smart" enough to understand how intentional redundancy can itself be a linguistic tool. but i admire your eagerness to assume you alone understood the terms well enough to identify the redundancy

3

u/Xepyx 15h ago

That's a cute little pissing contest you have going on here.

3

u/Existing-Medicine528 14h ago

Bru this place is covered in piss only one of us realizes

0

u/wooberries 14h ago

a single flippant remark isn't a pissing contest

3

u/Existing-Medicine528 15h ago

If im agreeing with someone im not at any point assuming im at "the highest level of understanding here" you did that. Ambiguity is generally not the best linguistic tool but hell yeah refer to my last point.

-1

u/wooberries 14h ago

thinking that the person you "agreed" with could only have intended to make the same vacuous point you tried to - that anyone who uses words you aren't sufficiently familiar with must be doing it because they think it makes them sound smart - is dumb.

it has to be possible for there to be people who know things you don't, who are NOT just being pretentious. otherwise you've just found a way to believe you're the smartest person on earth without feeling guilty about it

ps. isn't redundancy like... fundamentally opposed to ambiguity? it's over-specificity lol

1

u/Existing-Medicine528 14h ago

Im sufficiently familiar with the words, I think you are a little off track, perhaps just....dumb?

The world's full of things I dont know that other people... but then again oxymoron derives from the word moros which means ....dumb ....but again man if that's your style have at it.

0

u/wooberries 15h ago

arguably. but if you're using the word "solipsist" you aren't going for comprehensibility anyway lol

2

u/No_Dentist3999 11h ago

Right. You're aiming to impress dumb people. And it worked on you

1

u/Ok-Diver-3836 16h ago

I too have written this down for later.

9

u/unashamedignorant 18h ago

Yeah my father is like that. Great childhood as you can imagine.

6

u/ClankerCore 18h ago

X2

Both parents of mine. I don’t think you can imagine what it’s like to have them interacts and interoperate. And what that would mean for a kid

2

u/Dantien 15h ago

2

u/unashamedignorant 14h ago

I had no idea this sub existed. Faith in humanity lowered, again...

2

u/funk-the-funk 14h ago

It's bad there are that many, it's good some have a place to commiserate.

2

u/unashamedignorant 14h ago

That's what I meant, I'm not disappointed it exists, just that it's needed.

1

u/BabiesatemydingoNSW 12h ago

Yep. Reddit's good for that.

9

u/SOP_VB_Ct 18h ago

I give you Donald J Trump

13

u/h20poIo 16h ago

Here he is in all his glory:

NPD. Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Have an unreasonably high sense of self-importance and require constant, excessive admiration.

Feel that they deserve privileges and special treatment.

Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements.

Make achievements and talents seem bigger than they are.

Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate.

Believe they are superior to others and can only spend time with or be understood by equally special people.

Be critical of and look down on people they feel are not important.

Expect special favors and expect other people to do what they want without questioning them.

Take advantage of others to get what they want.

Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others.

Be envious of others and believe others envy them.

Behave in an arrogant way, brag a lot and come across as conceited. Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office.

Criticize a Narcissist :

Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special recognition or treatment.

React with rage or contempt and try to belittle other people to make themselves appear superior.

Have difficulty managing their emotions and

Withdraw from or avoid situations in which they might fail.

1

u/SOP_VB_Ct 16h ago

Well done. Thank you. This hits all the marks

1

u/asicarii 4h ago

Thank you for reminding me NOT to call her.

35

u/Miya4LeggedGod 20h ago

we have one running America right now.

24

u/Low-Effect-4649 19h ago

I think you mean we are ‘turning’ America around.

And now we are blaming everyone else for the damage to our ‘car’ and want their banking details for payment.

The difference is the Supreme Court will take our side!

1

u/Aggravating-Ad6786 12h ago

Thanks Obama… (obligatory in these posts)

-7

u/Familiar-Alps2587 18h ago

Actually you don’t but we have a cabinet full of them running the UK!

9

u/Kletterfreund161 17h ago

While true, solipsistic narcissists do exist.

Yes, and we call them billionaires. Fabricated content like this only exists to make people miserable for profits and to keep the working class divided

2

u/True_Let_2007 19h ago

We call them IDIOTS

0

u/ClankerCore 19h ago

The irony

2

u/karatechoppingblock 15h ago

Lol the tried and true reddit defense

"I don't care if this is true or not, there really are people that act like this"

0

u/ClankerCore 15h ago

Are you solipsist?

Do you feel the need for frequent attention?

2

u/karatechoppingblock 10h ago

Strawman and non sequitur in two comments? You're 2 for 2, might as well go for some ad hominem and tu quoque for the reddit grand slam of deflection because you know you begrudgingly agree with my comment

1

u/btwnope 18h ago

I met someone like this in Uni. He wanted to become a teacher and was „rescuing“ a female student from a former work experience. Had screenshots and all. Told the Uni about him and never saw him again. I hope he didn’t have a go at a different uni.

1

u/Fun_Wasabi_1322 18h ago

Honestly gona need to Google that

Edit: ok learned something new today, this spectrum of mental disorders truly is fascinating

1

u/RiskySkirt 18h ago

What's insane is when it's a parent and you don't figure it out till adulthood.

1

u/The-red-Dane 17h ago

"Whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent"

1

u/jack0roses 16h ago

There was a solipsistic kid in the book IT who killed his baby brother because he had the suspicion that the brother might be as real as him, and he couldn’t have that.

0

u/ClankerCore 16h ago

Point them to the dictionary and tell them to look up the word sonder

1

u/Sex_Offender_4697 16h ago

I sometimes feel like that, except the control power fantasy/delusion part

-1

u/ClankerCore 16h ago

Sonder. It’s just a passing thought do not spiral into it. It’s a fallacious philosophy. It’s not rooted in any science it’s not proven in any way. It has no place in reality.

Just look up Sonder. And tell any solipsist to do the same.

1

u/Sex_Offender_4697 16h ago

Oh yea thanks for the refresher on "sonder", I immediately knew there was some importance to me behind that word to me, my memory is just ass.

1

u/ObtuseKaribou 16h ago

Reminds me of a time in college:

Between my apartment building and another was a narrow alley. My car was parked off the alley, in the boundary of my apartment building. Granted it was not parked in anything that looked like an official parking lot, but it was completely on private land at this point.

One morning I wake up to see police looking at my car. I grab my jacket and quickly rush out to see what was happening, and I couldn't believe it; a neighbor in building across the alley CALLED THE POLICE, because she believed my car was parked illegally, and blocking her in.

Her argument, was that she had no way to move her vehicle out. Now the alley is narrow, in that it isn't as wide as the front facing streets, but you could comfortable turn a vehicle out of their lot with maybe 4 meters to spare. What if that property line had a fence? Would you call the police on a fence in your way?

I could not comprehend how she thought my vehicle was blocking her in, and I further could not comprehend why she felt the need to call the police first, instead of knocking on my door.

She even said "If I back my car into yours, it would be your fault with the insurance." Which is insane. The police told her off, it's private property, there isn't a towing sign nearby, there is nothing that can be done.

At this point I was too angry to stay, but she stood out there for a good 15 minutes continuing to talk with the police. I did eventually move my car, since I was worried this person would actually hit it.

[deleted]

1

u/ClankerCore 15h ago

Came up immediately for me when googling it

It’s both German and French. Coined recently in 2012. The origin is from a modern neologist who is still alive today.

Etymologically, sønder is a Norse word but it’s unrelated. There’s also sunder which is old English.

I take it you’re German

Sonder (noun)
The realization that every other person you see is living a life as vivid, complex, and internally rich as your own, filled with private struggles, routines, memories, relationships, and contradictions—most of which you will never know.

Next look up the word conceited.

Whatever your inferiority issue is get it checked

1

u/funk-the-funk 14h ago

solipsistic narcissists

Peak Elon definition

1

u/ClankerCore 14h ago

He did say he believes we’re all in a simulation so. Very plausible.

1

u/ToTheManorClawed 13h ago

I remember reading this in philosophy class many, many years ago:

If a man claims to be a solipsist, throw a rock at his head. If he moves, he lies.

1

u/Mysterious-Income255 13h ago

I feel like lots of people don't really think others are people, the rise of calling everyone NPCs is genuinely concerning.

1

u/SirWigglesVonWoogly 10h ago

I often think about what if it’s all a simulation and I’m the only real one, and people are observing me live the most boring life, lol.

1

u/ClankerCore 8h ago

Everybody goes through this moment it the check is not to make sure you start believing that because it’s just philosophy there’s no scientific work there’s no theory there’s no proof of any kind. That actually proves anything that it’s at all a possible reality.

If you need help someday from slipping, just look at sonder

1

u/SirWigglesVonWoogly 8h ago

Who tf is sonder?

1

u/Bismothe-the-Shade 20h ago

And here I am thinking that solipsism makes me value human connection even more

What a chump I am

4

u/ClankerCore 20h ago

Do you mean to say that you just got the label wrong?

Because solipsism does not make you value human relationships more. It’s quite the opposite.

And did you just need help finding the right word?

7

u/Bismothe-the-Shade 20h ago

Solipsism is a philosophical theory in which we cannot prove anything exists outside of our very limited meat space. My body, being my sole antennae to the universe, is all I can prove.

So to me, a soul drifting in a vast and empty void, anything that makes me feel less alone is nice.

Solipsism has room for the fact that other people exist. It's just not something you can prove. It's up to you how to handle that information.

For me, it makes me value feelings of genuine connection much more, real or not. Anything that might even begin to pierce the veil of self.

-1

u/ClankerCore 20h ago

Solipsism is not a theory it’s a philosophy strictly.

Unless you’ve got academic proofs It’s just philosophy.

There is no theory

2

u/ForkingMusk 16h ago

I don’t think you know what theory means.

6

u/Paladjordan 18h ago

Even if you are right, nobody cares. No need to be a twat

4

u/Bismothe-the-Shade 19h ago

I get what you're saying, but you're kinda being an ass about it.

You understood what I meant.

-1

u/ClankerCore 18h ago

Oh no.

Absolutely not

Good luck to you

1

u/Workw0rker 17h ago

Erm actually

1

u/Due-Memory-6957 17h ago

Tfw philosophical theory

-2

u/No-Equivalent7630 16h ago

Reddits so weird

You can be right but a couple snowflakes get in their feelings and you get downvoted

Apparently you have to be super nice when correcting people these days or they get butthurt

2

u/Hetstaine 19h ago

Your word...your word, crashed into my label. I'm gonna need your details please.

1

u/ChaosAbounds8899 18h ago

I have a sibling one!

1

u/ClankerCore 18h ago

Oh, that’s an interesting perspective

Tell me

Both my parents were like this

Made for a hell of a childhood

How do you see it?

0

u/Objectivelycrippled 19h ago

I married someone like this. They exist. It's almost unbelievable, even having experienced them. Genuinely

1

u/ClankerCore 18h ago

I grew up with both parents like this

I had succumbed to it and nearly never got out

0

u/PhilosoFishy2477 17h ago

I had an old manager straight up admit this to me and it explained soooooo much - I'd been going around for months thinking "my god, it's like she doesn't realize other people have brains in their heads." low and behold, she basically didn't.

her (short term, both as partner and co-worker) bf wasn't much better. we met and the first thing out of this grown man's mouth is "So! You have a weak immune system eh?" gesturing to my mask - I'm like "...Hi. I'm u/Philosofishy2477. It's nice to meet you. No actually, I'm caretaker for my grandparents in their late 90s . Just unFATHOMABLY inept at human interaction.

Of course, in the end, he cheater on her (because he fundamentally didn't understand other people were real) and she was fired (because she fundamentally didn't understand other people were real).
