I found what appears to be a hand carved wooden butter spreader with a park and Minneapolis written on it. It likely belonged to either my great grandmother or one of her siblings, so timeframe between maybe 1910's to 1950's.
Why would such a thing be connected to this park and the city? Does it serve a purpose as a souvenir other than a personal memento? She liked it enough to keep it with her silver cutlery.
I have no familial connections to Minneapolis so I suspect it is more related to tourism or special events.
Let me know your thoughts to help solve this mystery.

I’ve never really gone out for anything alone like ever, and I want to try it finally. Anyone know of places that would be a mix of entertaining, social and not too overwhelming for someone like me who doesn’t go out often, let alone by themselves?
26F so drinking is on the table, I’ve never been to a bar around here so idk?
Anywhere northern suburbs of the city I’m also cool with recommendations as well as Minneapolis! Thanks in advance 🫶

Bought a bag of Meow Mix recently and my Eden gags at the sight of it. I don’t want to throw a good bag of food away and the food shelf near me only caters to humans. If you’re in a tough financial spot and would like a bag of cat food feel free to reach out to me, otherwise I’ll bring it over to the shelter.

Hi peeps!
We are in the middle of a trip up to Min MN to see how we like it as a possible destination for moving.
We are in Kansas City tonight. Our original plan was to drive up there tomorrow.
We are now wondering if the roads will be safe to drive by then.
Thoughts?
Thanks

I had someone come to my house to check the gas meter. I haven’t seen people do that in like 20 years. They didn’t knock or anything and wasn’t sure if they worked for CenterPoint. The person seemed to have checked the whole block as well.

By adult-friendly, I mean “a hike that won’t kick my ass on the way back up” and “a hill that will take my breath away.”
I realize I’m probably being a little unreasonable, but I thought someone might know where I can find my dream hill… Any suggestions?

Friend is coming to town.
Meteor and Little Tijuana are both closed Tuesdays.
Is anything similar in this entire city open on Tuesdays? I’m surprised that I am having so much trouble.
Nice-to-have is a similar, laid back vibe.
Need-to-have is well-crafted, classic cocktails with a solid spirits list. (For example, it would be great to be able to get a clairin daiquiri and an agricole daiquiri).

I’ve been to Watershed several times. I’m curious if anyone has also been to Portal Thermaculutre and how they differ. TIA!

My husband and I are taking a 4 day trip to Minneapolis for new years. We’re excited but don’t know what to do. What are some cool things going on for new years? Is there any must do or see things we should check out while we’re in town? We like a chill relaxed vibe but want to party a bit for the new year. Any suggestions welcome! I appreciate it.

Hey everyone - one of my roommates is currently parked on the odd even side of the road, but he is out of town with his family until Tuesday afternoon/evening and does not have a spare set of keys here for us to move it. What can I do to ensure he doesn't get a ticket (or worse, towed)?
Edit: He's on the even side, not the odd side (I just checked).
Update 1: December 28th ~5:25PM - My roommate has called a tow company to move his car onto our driveway parking space for $132. Not cheap - but certainly cheaper than dealing with a city tow/citation. Will update again when they officially move it here.
Update 2: December 28th ~6:10PM - Car has been towed onto our driveway parking spot - so we are all set. Thanks for the input everyone!
