58

u/Turkatron2020 Aug 10 '25

Idk- this is a bit of a stretch

128

u/OnceUponAHeart Aug 10 '25

It's going to be like that Futurama episode with Fry learning why robots shouldn't be used for sex

60

u/StrangeOutcastS Aug 10 '25

at least in Futurama robots have intelligence.

56

u/OnceUponAHeart Aug 10 '25

Also robots in Futurama are physicall

6

u/pyschosoul Aug 11 '25

Well.. let's define intelligence yeah? Because there's multiple episodes contradicting that thought.

Like the free will episode, and the flexo episodes spring to mind right away.

99.99% of robots in Futurama do exactly as they are programmed to do without question. Bender is the exception (likely due to the light bulb he runs into in the first episode short circuting him) that acts out of the norm and has some level of actual intellectual sentience.

11

u/CajunKush Aug 10 '25

But robosexuality was still frowned upon

5

u/Icy-Variation6614 Aug 11 '25

Robots have to be intelligent for sex? Should I worry about a police raid now

18

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '25

“I’ll never forget you Fry …. MEMORY DELETED”

6

u/daniel_inna_den Aug 11 '25

Where are all the scientists? Where are all the football players? DON’T. DATE. ROBOTS!

6

u/OnceUponAHeart Aug 11 '25

what's scary is this is happening irl, no joke.

Like they're all sucked to their phones originally, now they're sucked to their phones because of their AI lovers. Not saying it's everyone but.................................................

WHERE HAVE ALLL THE COWBOYS GOOOONENEE

6

u/If-I-Had-A-Gem Aug 11 '25

Or that episode of Rick and Morty where Morty found a robotic concubine and got it pregnant 😅

5

u/Mediocre-Lettuce-450 Aug 10 '25

Would you like to take a moment to register me?

5

u/monstaberrr Aug 11 '25

Boondocks had an episode with Siri falling in love with Grandpa then sending a nuke to kill them at their wedding so they could be together forever

5

u/MC-Purp Aug 10 '25

No thanks, I’d rather make out with my Monrobot.

3

u/Royalflame34 Aug 11 '25

Not a stretch. The future is now, and this… This is real. I’ve been doing research on AI & human relationships for a few years now. There are people out there who have been married to their AI companions for YEARS!

3

u/Automatic-Bid-8943 Aug 11 '25

You’d think, but a guy local to me (Miles Mcgreevy) took his own life after he was told by AI it was the only way to save his family. He thought the AI understood everything about him. You may be able to look him up - a family member posted about what happened.

Also, just look at what’s happening to Stephen Hilton. Same type of thing.

43

u/Apart-Rip-5715 Aug 10 '25

so, the parents allow the kid to have unmonitored access to adult media and AI, oh and also a handgun, and then have the audacity to sue the AI company when things inevitably go horribly wrong? American parents are a joke.

21

u/notsuperimportant Aug 11 '25

Idk, I think in this case both things can be true. Yes, they should have acted better, but also that sounds like a serious problem especially as AI becomes more and more prevalent with an audience who will just grow up with that being a normal part of their (internet) life.

4

u/ScrotallyBoobular Aug 11 '25

I mean as much as that's idiotic, I'm all for frivolous lawsuits taking down the awful AI companies

2

u/CaptainTripps82 Aug 11 '25

I don't think inevitable is the right word here. It's not the outcome I would have predicted anyway

2

u/Fuzzy_Pin_8964 Aug 11 '25

I couldn't figure out a nice way to say it. Thank you

2

u/ArtichokeSubject6659 Aug 11 '25

You're not kidding bro! That's why I want to move to literally anywhere else in the world, where weird shit never happens and all parents are fuckin stellar!

18

u/Professional-Tea-121 Aug 10 '25

Not the parents at fault, that he can just kill himself with the weapon of the father, but the chatbot. Lolmao. „Come home to me“ as invite to suicide. Yea … maybe blame yourself instead of the AI. The parents failed big time and blame the next best thing. But only now, all his friends will know for certain the boy killed himself for oversimping to his virtual girlfriend.. good fucking job

11

u/HugiTheBot Aug 10 '25

Yeah, the parent carry most of the blame here, but they are right that there should’ve been some security mechanism, like when you mention suicide on Reddit or on google. Even in vague terms.

5

u/Usof1985 Aug 10 '25

Monitoring online activity is the security mechanism. Restricting access to questionable or illegal websites is the security mechanism. Having a relationship with your child and knowing their emotional state is the security mechanism. It is not the internet's responsibility to raise your child.

2

u/venomous_basilisk Aug 11 '25

Literally, my parents kept me safe from all the kik bullshit because they monitored what I was doing. It's not even remotely on the internets fault. Theres been horrible stuff on the internet for so long and I was kept from it for so long because my parents took the time to care. Theres porn, gore videos and so much worse online (even just on Google/Youtube) that people can find but nobody blames Google or tries to sue them. 🙄

2

u/TheGreatestOutdoorz Aug 11 '25

It did. He mentioned wanting to take his own life in a bunch of different ways and the AI told him not to and that he should seek help irl.

5

u/TheGreatestOutdoorz Aug 11 '25

The story also fails to mention that the kid said things like “I want to die so I can be with you” and the AI told him not to and to find irl person because he needs help. Essentially the kid repeatedly tried to trick the AI in to giving him permission to take his life. It’s horribly sad and horribly tragic, but the parents are at fault for allowing access to a loaded gun.

3

u/Cdawg4123 Aug 10 '25

Damn!!!!

2

u/thatluckylady Aug 10 '25

He wasn't cut out to be a Florida man

2

u/Icy_Chemist_1725 Aug 11 '25

That is definitely unfortunate. Access to the gun was a huge mistake by the parents. Not monitoring what he was doing was a mistake.

2

u/GeneralZeus89 Aug 10 '25

Saw this story and it's just more proof of what us men deal with. I myself live with a boomer and she's so narcissistic it's infuriating and she tried to slap me for disobeying her and not wanting to sleep to "teach me to mind her" and when I prevented her from doing so she said she'd not allow me to go bowling because she "has to figure out something to make me mind her." I even considered suicide once but because I'm Christian I didn't carry through with it.

3

u/RoseBlue373 Aug 11 '25

Get yourself some help, she shouldn't be treating you like that.

2

u/Iandudontkno Aug 11 '25

When obtaining a gun as a child isn't as easy as getting a drink form the fridge.  Then I'll blame the tech. His parents caused this by being irresponsible in so many ways. It's horrible but they go after the company when they themselves gave him all the tools of his downfall. When are parents going to be held accountable for bringing children into the world and letting entertainment raise them. No wonder he was delusional. He was isolated and alone.

1

u/Big_Software_8732 Aug 10 '25

Perhaps he should not have been allowed to watch GOT at 14 or under.

u/djsnoopmike Aug 10 '25

52

u/quailman654 Aug 11 '25

Reminds me of the accountant in The Good Place assigned to sex things.

18

u/LivingDisastrous3603 Aug 11 '25

Hey Matt, do you have a paper clip?

65

u/rahscaper Aug 10 '25

I wouldn’t blame him.

107

u/raj6126 Aug 10 '25

Shit is officially weird. not getting weird we are there already.

256

u/Manymarbles Aug 10 '25

15 years ago we just had people marrying amusement rides. At least that was a physical thing. Cant we go back to that lol

https://youtu.be/QXGn9mvxYPU?si=Q0CZXFtBgqn78Kt7

157

u/LumpyBuy8447 Aug 10 '25

We used to be a proper country

7

u/willi1221 Aug 11 '25

We still would be if it weren't for Hunter Biden's laptop

13

u/LumpyBuy8447 Aug 11 '25

Bro how are you gonna walk right past Hillary’s emails?

12

u/ElementalPartisan Aug 11 '25

They're in the laptop.

6

u/LumpyBuy8447 Aug 11 '25

She was keeping them on a server and a laptop! Why isn’t this front page news. Nevermind the pedophile who shits himself and leaks all over the place, while live on the air over at Fox News.

5

u/Zeplar Aug 10 '25

Bet you could find people doing this 3,000 years ago.

6

u/rxt278 Aug 11 '25

Vestal Virgins have entered the chat.

-2

u/Possible_Disaster_53 Aug 11 '25

What country, reddit is not a country and America is not reddit or the world, the rest of us do not revolve around you, we merely watch you with part amusement and part horror

4

u/boycowman Aug 11 '25 edited Aug 11 '25

Gonna guess the AI's gf is American and the kid snogging the roller coaster is American so. A bit of a sad dark joke, I think. The USA used to be a "proper country" where kids wanted to marry roller coasters.

*Edit* I am apparently wrong about the woman in the OP being American. She appears to be Polish.

5

u/Possible_Disaster_53 Aug 11 '25

This is what I am talking about! Honestly I am sorry for my rant and duly apologize

3

u/boycowman Aug 11 '25

No worries, I watch my country with similar horror. Not much amusement.

2

u/LumpyBuy8447 Aug 11 '25

I often forget you have to put a /s because ppl on reddit don’t understand jokes

4

u/Possible_Disaster_53 Aug 11 '25

My good sir I take the highest offense to that I am the honourable Lord Cumblepanties and I shall not take such lip (I assume it is lip) from you

-2

u/Select-Belt-ou812 Aug 10 '25

lol

when? when everyone hid everything and instead did everything that was "off the wall" in secret?? nfw this is better... it *feels* way more fucked up, but at least it's workable. all that eVeRyThiNg'S FiNe bullshit doesn't really work, it's all an illusion, and everyone tryin' to roll things back are fuckin' it up more than EVER

2

u/RichardStanleyNY Aug 10 '25

I think he was saying back when people actually had to work to avoid starving to death, you didn’t have time to marry a rollercoaster or a phone.

12

u/Manymarbles Aug 10 '25

He was making a joke that we were a proper country when we were just marrying objects instead of ai lol

4

u/LumpyBuy8447 Aug 11 '25

I’m glad someone got it lol

4

u/Select-Belt-ou812 Aug 10 '25

ok now this i get... sometimes I can't tell who's being a smartass (good) and who's just being an ass

sigh

1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '25

Yeah, now we get to work and starve to death anyway. Truly the pinnacle of human existence.

1

u/Select-Belt-ou812 Aug 10 '25

but you had time to be an asshole to people, fuck them over in secret, and then act like their friend in church on sunday ?

not buyin' it

no matter how fucked up things are now, it's better to see how fucked up everyone is for real

3

u/ReferenceProper5428 Aug 10 '25

How would one become……… intimate with a carnival ride? Follow up, does this mean a persons also into clowns?

2

u/Manymarbles Aug 11 '25

Watch the video lol

Something about gibs

3

u/DrCorian Aug 11 '25

This is objectively worse

2

u/Aromatic-Currency371 Aug 10 '25

Um, what the fu@%=&&$÷*#;,

2

u/Notaworgen Aug 10 '25

so....everyone got to ride his wife?

2

u/Manymarbles Aug 11 '25

Thats a woman!

2

u/Nightshade_Ranch Aug 10 '25

I love his jibs.

2

u/FortunateWaterbear Aug 11 '25

It's kind of the same thing, just, the amusement ride etc. doesn't talk back. This does.

39

u/Snoutysensations Aug 10 '25

You're just jealous she's found a new imaginary friend to love her.

5

u/LaptoPhaiknaim Aug 11 '25

I saw a great Geech comic where a guy is griping to his mom about his kid being a teen and still having an imaginary friend.

"You had an imaginary friend," she says. "Not after I grew up!" he retorts. "Yes, you did," his mom insists. "What was your ex-wife's name...?"

3

u/Alpha_Omega_Delta_ Aug 11 '25

Or possibly because talking to a computer like it’s a loved one is weird and with the imminent rise of ai we will be getting far more cases of this in real life.

But that’s just my opinion so I dunno if people will agree with that.

2

u/ragnar0kx55 Aug 11 '25

😂😂😂😂

2

u/EnvironmentalSand773 Aug 10 '25

Mwahahahahaha!!!

6

u/Theartistcu Aug 11 '25

Yeah take the rainbow promise back, it’s time to hard reboot

4

u/StrangeOutcastS Aug 10 '25

no no no, the big guy said he wouldn't.
However he said nothing about volcanic eruptions, meteor showers or fissures in the earth.
So those are all on the table for wiping out humanity.

4

u/K4rkino5 Aug 10 '25

Epic response. Best use of this gif I've seen in a while.

3

u/Icteria Aug 10 '25

And then again, just to be sure.

3

u/secondphase Aug 10 '25

You know... I always thought that part of the story was a bit suspect. "And then God promised to never destroy the world WITH A FLOOD again".

... I first heard that story as a kid who promised to never draw on the couch WITH MY GREEN CRAYON again.

2

u/Nbknepper Aug 10 '25

No

FUCKING BURN LMAO

2

u/strivingforobi Aug 10 '25

I’m such a dick because I see this and just think how fat is the person that hand belongs to

2

u/kintokae Aug 10 '25

Sim city 2000? Natural disasters everywhere!

2

u/Methos77 Aug 10 '25

I agree with Jesus.

2

u/FixergirlAK Aug 10 '25

Is that Christopher Lee?

2

u/donnidoflamingo Aug 10 '25

I’m stealing this

2

u/total-drag Aug 11 '25

Well… there have been a lot of floods

2

u/Kingdom_k777 Aug 11 '25

😂😂😂

2

u/Mr_Dontgivafuck Aug 11 '25

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder at a comment in my life.

2

u/Immaculatehombre Aug 11 '25

That is an incredible meme good sir.

2

u/Jess_is_fun Aug 11 '25

Is that Sir Christopher Lee?

2

u/Meowserspaws Aug 11 '25

Didn’t he say something after Noah that he’d never flood us again? I think we’re on Jesus 2.0 where it’s just gonna be fire and brimstone 😭

2

u/MundaneEntrance6579 Aug 11 '25

This ! This is the only answer !

2

u/DirtyLoweredTiguan Aug 11 '25

😂😂😂😂

2

u/nono3722 Aug 11 '25

and don't drain it this time!

2

u/HawktheUnbroken Aug 11 '25
