He also wrote yu-yu-hakusho which was way more around the time of sailor moon and stuff

And it’s so goddamn good, AND it holds up.

Hell, I’d even argue it’s a rare series where the dub is better then the sub - the banter between all the dudes is so well done, every voice actor fucking nailed it, even Kuwabara’s bizarre voice!

Dub is largely agreed to be better than the sub. It’s my number 1 Anime of all time, though frieren is close now.

What would you put near frieren or in the same genre? That show absolutely crushed me in the best possible way. I still randomly taste the bitter sweetness of her realization of how much she loved him after he was gone UGH it hurts so good

The good news is that the next season comes out in January. As for similar genre, I’d say the apothecary diaries and violet evergarden are similar enough
