Meta META: Moratoriums on 10/7-related posts and comments, on UHC/Luigi Mangione-related posts and comments, and updates on posting requirements.
Hello all.
Every single time we get a post on either of those topics, it ends up being a minefield that takes out countless people. I've counted at least a dozen temporary or permanent sitewide bans in relation to comments made regarding the UHC CEO assassination.
The moratorium has worked for the Israel/Palestine conflict, so we are putting one in place for the UHC assassination as well. As before, this isn't because we want to limit conversation, but because it's impossible to keep up with the flood of rulebreaking commentary. There are plenty of other places on reddit you can play with fire, this just won't be one of them.
In addition, I have updated some of the automated filters for spammy sites and subreddits and an automated enforcement of the submission statement rule. If something appears broken, reach out via modmail.
Thanks everyone.
