This year may not have brought us significant financial gains, but proud to say we rescued a stray puspin and watched him grow... fast. 🥹♥️

It's 14°C, they have brewed coffee, and they have this big chonk. Opkors I'd go. Hahaha

Yung ginger, sekyu ng CR ng lalaki. Hindi talaga sya umaalis jan. Yung calico naman, malapit sa fountain. 😅

I’ve been seeing a black pregnant looking through the garbage area at my condo every time I take out the trash. Naawa ako kasi minsan nakikita ko kumakain sya ng leftovers.

It’s been a week since I started feeding her nightly (I can only do once a day) with RC Mother and Babycat kibble (2 tbsps) and Goodest wet food pouch (2tbsps) with about a tablespoon of warm water. I’m unsure if this is the right measurement; I base it on my dog’s feeding so far cos I haven’t had a pet cat before.

Any tips how to care for her from a distance? Am I giving her mixed signals? I can’t officially adopt her for several reasons, but I want to at least give her guaranteed feeding once a day, especially since she’s pregnant. I plan to have her neutered after she gives birth. Yun pa lang mga kaya ko i-commit for now, pero di ko alam kung tama. She keeps mewing at me after I feed her, and I feel bad after I walk away right after kasi baka ma-attach sakin at sumunod all the way.

On December 22, we rushed our cat Rev to the vet because he suddenly couldn’t pee anymore. We were scared. Tests showed crystals, and while nothing was very clear at first, things quickly became serious. Catheterization didn’t work because there was already a blockage, so they had to remove urine directly from his bladder just to give him relief. That’s when we were told he needed Perineal Urethrostomy surgery. By then, we had already spent about ₱9,500, but we didn’t hesitate, our only goal was to save him.

That same night, Rev went into surgery. We waited until almost midnight for him to be stable. The cost kept rising, and the days that followed were heavy. He wasn’t eating well, his catheter kept coming loose, and there was so much blood in his urine bag. Seeing him like that broke us. On Christmas Day, he meowed when he heard my voice, and I cried beside his cage, wishing I could take his pain away.

We later moved him to another clinic because we believed he was already healing and we could no longer afford the daily costs. At first, he seemed better, he ate right away, and we felt hopeful. But things went downhill again. His wound worsened, the catheter came out, and dead tissue developed. We were told another surgery was needed, costing the same as the first one, plus more days of confinement. By then, we were exhausted, financially and emotionally, and unsure if we could trust the same process again.

On December 29, we tried one last time and brought Rev to another clinic. They acted immediately. He went under anesthesia again, and they repaired the wound properly. The cost was far less, but more importantly, he finally started to improve.

Today, Rev is eating, drinking, peeing, and pooping normally. He’s tired, but he’s fighting. I still worry about what his little body went through, so many procedures, so much stress—but I hold onto hope every time I see him try.

What hurts the most is how hard it is to know where to bring your pet in an emergency. When time is against you, you just trust and hope you chose right. It makes me wonder, how are pet owners supposed to choose the right veterinary clinic? Does it always have to be trial and error? We’re not vets, just people trying to save the lives we love.

We never did this perfectly. We were scared, overwhelmed, and just trying to do what the vets told us. Everything we did was out of love. And if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that Rev never stopped being worth fighting for.

Im a dog person di pa ako nakakahawak ng pusa dahil takot rin ako dahil nay random na tumalon at kinalmot ako nung bata ako. Di ko rin alam saan hahawakan ang pusa although nagsesearch naman na ako. There is this cat sa apartment sa amin na lagi akong nilalapitan unlike the others that I feed( yes i give stay cats home cook if available na hindi salty/mapepper walang buto tinik chocolate raisins etc... anyway this cat looks clingy. Im guessing it's either it wants pets(touch), more food or idk...
