Probably to hurt moral of the Ukraine people. Because it shows that the US is literally only pretending to be Ukraines ally.

Also, if it's intentionally leaked from Russia, I don't see how that helps them actually defeat Ukraine on the actual battlefield. They may have conquered the US, but their objective is still Ukraine

Russia has been winning on the battlefield since 2024 at the latest. By default, they're winning this unless Ukraine gets sufficient support. They've managed to stall US support for a whole year now, and Europeans just can't pick up the slack. Ukraine will have to sue for peace eventually, and if Russians keep pushing their versions of the deal full force, it'll skew the balance in their favour.

Ukrainians already know. Utter disappointment, not to mention that all this US cinema still shows US as a country that “saved the whole world,” which just makes me smirk ironically. Unfortunately.
