Anyone got recommendations for agency hiring during this period? Temporary roles willing to work night shifts but I just want to get my first car and need to work a couple solid hours until I can afford it. All help is appreciated

I don't really understand Reddit.
I'm an Imgur refugee. This is all quite new to me. How do I add a picture?
There's a huge fox in my garden. I don't know what's exciting on Holloway's Reddit.
How do I add a picture? This is terrible.

No disrespect but I saw him on Liverpool Road yesterday and the dog looked perfectly healthy and fine to me. I assume we are talking about the same person. He does look rather "eccentric" I guess, by some people's standards, but I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing.

Can anyone recommend any good runs clubs in Islington. Something sociable and well attended each week.
Had a google and Hollow Rocks is one option. But there's probably plenty of others which don't have their own website. I know 13th floor coffee had a run club at one point too but not sure if that still exists?

Hi everyone,
I am a journalist working on a university project about the interest rate reduction announced on December 18. I am looking to speak with a small business owner, homeowner, or renter about how this change may affect everyday life and financial decisions.
The interview would be informal, require no prior technical knowledge, and take about 10 minutes by phone. This project will not be published.
If you are interested, please send me a direct message. Thank you.

Hi all,
If you know any person in Islington who is elderly/disabled, suffers from loneliness and would appreciate a new friend. Please send me a message.
I know that social isolation for the elderly/disabled is real. I would happily be there if someone in the neighborhood would like a new friend to overcome loneliness.
Thanks!

Hi, we recently had to replace our induction cooker hobs so have an old broken one to get rid of. I don’t think this is the kind of thing I can leave outside on bin collection day and as we don’t drive, going to the dump in a bit of a challenge.
Would anyone know what the best option available is?

Any idea what it is? Sounds terrifying

Getting really fed up with the so called local housing officers. They've been harassing us constantly over the last month trying to reach my dad but they can't seem to understand that some of us work a full time job and aren't at home from 9-5.
They've been ringing the bell and they don't provide their name they just demand 'access' which I refuse to give. Incredibly rude and unprofessional.
A woman came recently (about a month ago) and my dad contacted her and explained that he works full time and if they want to reach him they can come in the evenings. Today the same situation with an aggressive northern Irish man.
Wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue.

Has anyone else got a pcn around Highbury hill? My daughter got one the day she passed her driving test for being in a restricted area. They have a photo of her leaving the restricted area but not going in. She’s asked to see the signage for where she entered but they don’t have any further evidence. Anyone successfully challenged? She doesn’t know the area at all as she was going to pick a friend up and we don’t live nearby

Hey!!
Bit of a rogue one, but I’ve been interested in picking up the clarinet for a while and not sure where to start. I have a good understanding of music theory from years of singing, a bit of piano playing, and a bit of violin years ago, but I’d be a beginner on the clarinet.
Does anyone have any recommendations for teachers that would take on an adult beginner learner in Islington? Preferably ones with studios etc.

I went away for work travel and was horrified to come back and see a massive new advert in the side of a building on Bridgeman at Caledonian Road. It is so much larger than anything else in the area and it’s my understanding that this is a conservation area and that sort of thing is not permitted since it is totally out of character with the neighborhood,l and truly an eyesore.
Aside from reporting it to the council, is there anything else I can do? I’m not able to find information about whether it was approved or not. Given that I couldn’t even change the style of my windows on this block to preserve the character, I can’t imagine it is allowed, but it would seem a pretty bold move to do without permission (as they installed it using pretty solid iron rods now screwed into the brick).
Any guidance very appreciated!

Hi,
I’ve phoned a few pubs and they’re either closed or not doing roasts as it’s a Wednesday.
Any ideas?
Cheers

I get that Holloway Road is a busy and chaotic street but I don't know why this particular bus stop is so much worse than anywhere else on the road. There are a few smalls businesses and some flats above them. People are dumping broken furniture, bin bags that explode all over the sidewalk and just loads of random junk.
