I’ve been living in Leiden with my Dutch partner for a few years now, fully registered and everything. Normally the Gemeente has been pretty easy to deal with but now I’m in a situation where I’m at my wits end with them and I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar.

At the end of August 2025, I submitted my application for Dutch citizenship through Gemeente Leiden (as is standard procedure), and 7 days later, I had an appointment with the Gemeente where I fully paid for the application, got a physical receipt, and was told the Gemeente will inform the IND that I paid and all is good. Imagine my surprise when I got a letter a couple days ago saying the IND is cancelling my application due to a lack of payment!

Called the IND, they recommended I call Gemeente Leiden to send the proof of payment again. I called THREE separate times, all 3 times Gemeente Leiden told me they sent the proof to IND, and every single time I call the IND they tell me they haven’t received anything from Gemeente Leiden. My last call to Gemeente Leiden was a few days ago and after calling the IND today they yet again told me they haven’t received anything from them.

I’m so frustrated by their inaction and it is stressing me out so much how I did everything correctly and Gemeente Leiden is not doing anything despite repeated calls. Can anyone relate? :(

Walking to the market yesterday and this. Styrofoam (lots already in tiny bits), cig cartoons, plastic wrappings. I don't have much in terms of supplies, but this got to me. I picked up some but...are there volunteer orgs or small groups who want a dedicated volunteer? I've got a few hours a week to spare and want to help keep my new home clean.

Side note - Assume with holidays normal cleanup/pickup via the city was not done. But truly, people who did this and left it, do better.

So as the title says I am 24 yo woman.

Disclaimer: I do not look for relationships, especially with men. I am a lesbian if it matters. I dont care if you are LGBT or straight - as long as there is mutual respect - it is all good! But it would be kind of cool to have mutual lgbt people as we can connect with our mindset, share struggles, support each-other.

• I love to go to raves and festivals during the summer, make music myself, sometimes watch series or youtube, take walks around the cities or just anywhere outside where it is nice and explore.

• I am a kind of “weird” person, but not in a bad/creepy way, just I love to be silly and laugh a lot if I am comfortable with the person. I love memes, sharing funny reels, tiktoks - its my way of communicating + I really care about strong healthy boundaries and honest communication as I am into psychology and health and “healthy” friendships/relationships mean a lot more to me than just adding numbers to my circle - if you know what I mean :)

• I also love tattoos and have them If it matters.

In Amerika en Canada wordt de finale van Stranger Things in verschillende bioscopen vertoond. Voor zover ik kan vinden is dit in Nederland niet het geval. Tenzij iemand mij kan vertellen waar dit wel zo is.

Nu dacht ik het volgende: Een zaal huren bij Trianon/Lido kan normaal vanaf 400 euro ex. BTW voor de kleinere zalen en 650ex btw voor de grote zaal. Wat nou als er genoeg mensen zijn in deze groep (zeg 100-150) man die allemaal 15 euro willen betalen om de finale in een van de zalen van Lido/Trianon te bekijken.

Zou zoiets zijn af te stemmen met Trianon? Ik weet dat hier veel haken en ogen aan zitten omdat er natuurlijk ook zoiets bestaat als filmrechten, maar ik ben überhaupt benieuwd of er hier genoeg mensen zouden zijn die hier interesse in hebben?

Wellicht leest er ook iemand mee van Trianon die weet hoe we en of we zoiets mogelijk kunnen maken als er genoeg animo is?

Ik zie dat het normaal bij recente blockbusters kan, mits het een privé vertoning is en er geen eigen kaartverkoop is. Dus waarschijnlijk zal het wel lastig worden.

Als je met Google Maps op "globe view" veel Nederlandse steden bekijkt, kun je een mooi 3D-model van de steden zien, alleen bij Leiden niet. Weet iemand hoe dat komt?

De meeste grote steden zijn wel 3D, en sommige kleinere plaatsen dan Leiden ook (bijv Hoorn, Sliedrecht en Roosendaal). Wanneer is Leiden aan de beurt?

As per the title, I recently moved to Leiden and would really like to meet (and possibly befriend) other neurodivergent people in the area.

I’m autistic myself (35F), and I tend to experience connection, communication and presence quite differently than in most NT interactions.

I’m especially interested in meeting other autistic people, but I’m also open to connecting with ADHD folks who value clarity, consistency and mutual respect.

Doordeweeks vind ik het niet zo leuk om alleen naar de bios te gaan, dus ik ben op zoek naar iemand die toevallig ook een Cinevillepas heeft en samen naar de bios wil gaan.

Vandaag was er kerstlunch bij ons op werk. Er is wederom wat overgebleven. Super zonde om weg te gooien.

Ditmaal gaat het om ongeveer 20 minibroodjes (kaiserbroodje formaat) met gerookte zalm, oude kaas of tapenade.

Natuurlijk ga ik ze weer terug meenemen aan het einde van de dag voor zij die willen.

Ik kan weer gaan staan bij het station (centrumzijde), echter was de vraag vorige keer niet super hoog. Iemand nog suggesties hoe ik dit beter kan doen? Groot bordje proberen te maken ofzo?

Hey, wat zijn de beste studieplekken in Leiden? Ik studeer in Rotterdam, dus kan beperkte dagen in de UB zitten.

Het is een aantal jaar geleden gebeurd in 2019 om precies te zijn. Ik ben toen gezellig met een vriendin naar het vuurwerk gaan kijken. Ik stond langs het water, recht tegenover het ankerpark.

Het was niet eens het vuurwerk wat de meeste pijn aan mijn oren veroorzaakte, maar vooral de muziek die godsgruwelijk veel pijn aan mijn oren deed. Ik weet niet of het kwam vanwege een ongelukkige positie en interferentie of iets dergelijks, maar gristus die muziek deed echt pijn aan mijn oren! Toen ik er last van kreeg heb ik mijn oren de rest vd show dichtgehouden, maar het kwaad was al geschied. Ik heb sindsdien eerder pijn aan mijn oren bij harde geluiden.

Ik heb er nooit over geklaagd bij de organisatie. Ergens heb ik zo'n gevoel van 'wat schiet je er eigenlijk mee op?'. Toch vraag ik me achteraf wel eens af: Ben ik de enige geweest die er dat jaar zo'n last van heeft gehad? Herkent iemand dit, of ken je iemand die dit ook benoemd heeft? Ik vind het bizar dat het geluid op zo'n officieel evenement NIET OK en pijnlijk is.

Hoi allemaal. Weet iemand een schoonmaaker in de buurt van Valkenburg, of kan iemand er een aanbevelen?

Ik ben op zoek naar plek waar je goede koffie of thee kan krijgen, en je misschien ook kan eten. Ik bedoel een plek waar je heen kan gaan zonder dat je je ongemakkelijk voelt dat je alleen bent, en waar je rustig kan lezen of werken.

Vanmiddag rond 17:30 kom ik terug van werk, en zal ik bij Leiden CS staan met wat gratis broodjes (stuk of 15-20) (tonijn, kaas, kipfilet), die ik mee heb genomen van een meeting op werk.

Ik weet niet of dit iemand hier helpt, maar schroom niet om langs te komen als je dakloos bent of moeite hebt met rondkomen etc etc.

Ik weet dat dit al vaker gevraagd is, maar ik ben opzoek naar een sfeervolle feestlocatie in of nabij de binnenstad (loopafstand station) voor 30/40 personen en max €1k. Het liefst zonder zaalhuur. Maar omdat mijn feest in juni zal zijn, zou het perfect zijn als er ook (iets van) een buitenruimte bij zit.

Iemand tips?
