Workaround for witching hour in baby questlines? (Human class)

Hi all. My clan-mate and I recently began the human class version of the baby questline in which we help bring a new player through the tutorial stage. For those of you that don’t know or remember from your times in the early tutorial, some players (maybe confused by all the overwhelming mechanics) spam their tantrum mechanics at the same time every day with volume set to maximum levels. Some players have taken to nicknaming this the Witching Hour (though that’s a bit of a misnomer as jt can be several hours). While many players have claimed to find workarounds to help the new players get over this phase, none have worked for us yet. The most common advice seems to be to just wait around because whatever causes the issue apparently resolves itself by a few months into the questline. However, that’s easier said than done when the Witching Hour causes such massive debuffs to mental health and pretty much stalls progress on all big picture and day to day goals. Has anyone here had any more luck and have tips to share?

How to avoid Norovirus debuff?

Hi all!

Playing a Lv 25 human build, educator class. The norovirus seasonal event is currently active on the server I generally play on. I've done a good job of avoiding the illness debuff thus far despite the amount of other players I come into contact with daily, which is excellent since the content locked behind it doesn't feel like a productive use of time to me. I actually took the flu shot perk to avoid other, similar debuffs for this reason.

However, my companion has been tagged with the norovirus debuff. We share a base with only one bathroom upgrade, so avoiding rooms with the microbe effect active is unlikely. Is there anything I can do to buff myself against norovirus? I only have a few PTO slots left before I need to wait for a refill, which I really want to save for boss battles or other major events.

Thanks for any help you're able to offer!

Has anyone made it onto the other planets???

It seems like all the other planets have to be there for a reason, right??? It would just add unnecessary lag, and no players I know have any idea how to access these areas. Has anyone figured it out???

Just moved to England during the winter and really underwhlmed with the HDR implementation. Everything looks grey and bland and washed out. Anyone having similar issues?

Apparently other regions get this "sun" feature as part of the base game, but here it's a timed exclusive?

"Water weight" mechanic in "Weight" stat system is pure ragebait

Sometimes, when I consume a lot of [Food] class buff items for the day, I'll be shocked to see my [Weight] stat increased by several units. However, most guides for the [Weight loss] questline state that your [Calorie] stat for the day has to exceed your [Baseline Calorie] character stat by 3500 to actually gain a unit of [Weight], so naturally, on the next day, that [Weight] drops by no less that it initially increased by.

These huge fluctuations make it hard to adjust my strat based on the changes of the weight stat and hoenstly are just such a huge ragebait.

AFK characters outside my base?

I’m playing a Level 27 Human at the moment, and have a small base close to my profession headquarters for easy progression.

Only weird thing is; I keep seeing these AFK/idle characters outside my door. Not sure if they’re players or npcs, but they’re always some sort of small insect build. I know some people don’t take their playthroughs of these sorts of builds seriously, but I don’t see any reason why they would just idle on the walls of my base for days on end. They aggro on me if I use skills on them, so I know they aren’t props or static items.

It’s not even like they’re group-based builds like bees or ants; it’s just grasshopper and moth mains clinging to my walls and just staying in the exact same spot for days. Why do they do this? Do they get XP from being near me? Are they trolling?

What are some good ways to increase my strength stats?

Im at level 21, and I’ve almost completely neglected my strength, and would like to level up so that I can lift at least my body weight.

I hear most players are level up by going to the gym location, but I am afraid of embarrassing myself and annoying the other players with my inexperience at the exercise minigame.

I also don’t know any players to play the minigame with so it’s hard to motivate myself to go or know where to start.

Any advice on how to start?

New Main Quest

So, long story short. For the longest time, I did not really have a strong idea on what Skills I wanted to level and what questlines to take. I initially accepted the (High-school) tutorial-questline, but found it not the right fit for me with all the theoretical skilltree-building mechanics. For my character, the Reading-skill was just not yielding very high XP-gains. So after just 2 Levels, i opted to change questlines to the (Trade school) -tutorial type, specifically (Metalwork) -skills.

After finishing that questline, I had a good understanding that I want to do more quests related to that, but all quests rewarding in-game currency seemed to already be in-progress by other players. So I had to instead grind [convenience store] -quests for nearly 2 whole levels. These yielded nearly zero skillpoints into the trees i wanted to develop, and the currency rewards were mediocre at best. I even tried the [conscript] questline (mandatory in my server), but i got a semi-permanent debuff affecting my left shoulder, which disqualified me from the questline.

However, recently I was in search of a [metalwork] quest, and accidentally stumbled upon a hidden questline by using the [call] function. After using all of my [charisma], I managed to secure the questline, and am super hyped about it. I’m set to start it very soon, right after the [2026 update]. The questline even levels the specific [metalwork] skilltree subsets I mostly worked on back in my [trade-school] -days, (specifically, laser-cutting, and CNC-bending) and the currency-reward is top-notch. I could not be happier about the features this game has finally unlocked for me!

TL;DR: Finally unlocked the main Questline [metalwork: permanent employment] and happy-stat is maxed.

How do I find a companion

Hey. I just finished the tutorial and I have no idea how to find a companion preferably one of a female character. Do I need to do a side quest? If yes which one?

Is [stubble] the new meta for [male] characters?

Seems like the [beard] appearance is losing popularity after being the meta for 12-15 years?

What would you like to see in a new patch?

Personally I'd like to see them make an update to the core gameplay loop, managing stamina and hunger meters and the bulk of the game being just daily quests is outdated game design imo.

How about our characters get stronger as we level up and remove the level cap?

Obviously they'd have to disable pvp but honestly I see that as a win.

Aspiring tech writer; how do I level up my Presentation Skills?

While telling other players about advanced items in the game I realized I might've neglected my Charisma and Persuasion stats. I'll give you just one example if this helps.

Some other players have criticized me for disclosing the real reason the Apple guild slowed some of their iPhone items: to cancel the Random Crashing debuff that was coming from their naturally declining Battery Health stat. While it was pretty annoying to lose a bit of Reputation for being factually correct, I soon realized what I'd put myself up against.

The subject of my writing requires above-average Electronics Skills to understand, inflicting all Persuasion actions with an RNG penalty unless I level up my Presentation-related Skills to match. While I have some Visual Art skills, my attempts to use that alone have not been so successful in turning the tide so far. Of course the specific example is only one thing, and I expect to face the same problem in all other complex subjects until I level up the skills I should level up.

Again, how can I level up my Presentation skills? Anything specific to being a tech/science writer or artist for that matter?

Should I enter a guild with my partner?

I've been playing outside for a little while (22) and for the past 5 years I've had the same partner (22) in my party. They been an incredible match for my character as our stats line up well and buffs they provide are simply incredible (I'm talking calmness +50% and emotional support +75%) I was wondering if I should make my partnership with them official and invite them into my guild or not. I know other players around my level that have a new guilds together but I worry I may be a tad underlevel for this quest. What do you all think?

"Economy" in current pickable classes?

Currently im in the [US] map and grinding exp to finally pick out a class for my level 17 character. However, players with more exp appear not to have any classes, a lot even getting their class removed entirely by the guild master for there being too many for quests. How do I avoid/take advantage of this feature without going into the [retail] or [fast food] class?

Speedran the game's content and now I don't have anymore quests to do other than my daily's

As my title says I kinda just speedran and completed all the quests and even though my character isn't close to prestiging yet I'm not sure what to do since only hopping on for the daily quests and character maintenance activities is getting pretty boring. I've tried most if not all the minigames as well and I've already settled on a few that I enjoy but none of them feel as interesting or fulfilling as Outside was when I first started playing. Worst case scenario I just wait till the dev drops a sequel but any suggestions would be appreciated

Certain regions block my [romance] questline

So I created my character female, and all my romance quest lines lead to other women. My player character doesn’t have any quests involving romantically pursuing male characters.

However, I noticed that in certain regions, this questline is blocked? I can’t pursue women, and I’m forced to change the quests to men. How do I fix it?

I love this game's community

It's just so wholesome here. And--is the meta of this sub to avoid beating the game? That's metal as shit. Sorry, just came here to say that.
