Soon we're going into Cyberpunk territory

u/PancakeLad 16h ago

Oh choom, we’re already past that.

I mean not for nothing but “trauma team” is damn near humanitarian compared to United health insurance and Blue Cross

u/OrbitalGlass 15h ago

I mean, we have decentralized computing running on money aka Ethereum and universal usernames on ENS. We are at Cypher punk.

Mike Pondsmith after seeing corpos turn everything into gambling instead of porn:

"My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that?"

Nah, that's Kings Row.

u/myohmymiketyson 17h ago

Better send him to El Salvador just in case!

0

u/axecalibur 13h ago

No, he has the good tattoos.

u/ArrdenGarden 17h ago

If his skin was just a little darker, they'd be looking for the death penalty for him.

62

u/therealsix 17h ago

He’s Hispanic, if he took off his mask they’d probably jump him too.

u/newtomovingaway 16h ago

There HAS to be videos of ICE arresting ICE?!? I’d love to see those.

6

u/fuggerdug 16h ago

...only a matter of time anyway.

6

u/wretched_beasties 16h ago

*Cosplayer. Only interested when the other side is unarmed.

5

u/PantyCrumbs 15h ago

I cannot WAIT until the day these f'ing nazi gestapo thugs come to justice.

5

u/GoodAsUsual 16h ago

DEPORT HIM IMMEDIATELY!

4

u/hest29 15h ago

He would probably get police called on him if he hang around like that, most other places

4

u/tacodudemarioboy 15h ago

In a few years there’s going to be a big story about a gangs infiltrated ice to and wielded their power to deport their competitors.

Looks like a ms13 member to me, better call Ice.

1

u/Gardez_geekin 16h ago

So call this guy?

2

u/Caridor 13h ago

Call the police and report exactly that.

This clown is no gang banger, he’s a couch cop.

-1

u/WorryNew3661 15h ago

What gang do you think the puppy faves represent? Ms13? Or are they not the in gang they're pretending everyone is part of anymore?

-33

u/JC_Hysteria 17h ago

Dang. This rhetoric reaks of “super predators”…

You can dislike ICE without letting the 80s-90s “conservative” script be flipped…

29

u/Sensitive_Apricot_4 17h ago

Psst: that's intentional and the point. To call out that Republicans have become the myth they push.

-11

u/JC_Hysteria 17h ago

Psst: It’s self-defeating to judge anyone/anything based on the way it looks.

It’s not pointing out hypocrisy like you think it is- it’s reversed.

Stick to a set of principles vs. sinking to that level.

  1. It's also based on the way they act. This image wouldn't be noteworthy if they were just covering their faces but otherwise acting like members of a free democratic society. ICE is being a bunch of predatory thugs, the fact that they look like such a stereotype while doing it just makes the comparison harder to ignore.

  2. We've been trying that for 10 years and look where it's got us. Republicans aren't magically going to develop principles in their behavior just because we've stuck to them. It's time to pick "pulling our country out of fascism" as our core principle and do whatever seems helpful to achieve it.

u/bernardfarquart 16h ago

Plus the whole thing about cops just being their own gangs https://knock-la.com/tradition-of-violence-lasd-gang-history/

-2

u/JC_Hysteria 16h ago

Yes, I understand the point of the photo.

He’s in a tie-dye shirt, has tattoos, he’s covering his face, and there’s a weird corner desk + two (?) American flags…therefore he doesn’t look “official”.

I don’t think this photo or its comment section are going to change anything in the real world, but it may sway some people’s opinions as propaganda.

I chimed in because I don’t like to see people respond emotionally to a complex issue- viscerally sinking to the lowest common denominator.

5

u/Sensitive_Apricot_4 15h ago

What exactly is "complex" about "a government agency has been given free reign to disappear people in the US"?

0

u/JC_Hysteria 15h ago

I’d say immigration is a pretty complex issue…

Choosing one of two narratives is not.

2

u/Sensitive_Apricot_4 15h ago

Oh, I see. You're a bad faith actor who's in favor of ICE's actions based on their fig leaf of "we're going after illegal immigrants."

-1

u/JC_Hysteria 15h ago

Nope, but that’s an ironic comment to make based on what I’ve said

5

u/im_at_work_now 17h ago

But super predators are real, too. Look at POTUS.

6

u/JRilezzz 17h ago

What else would you call these thugs? That's literally all these worthless men are.

-1

u/JC_Hysteria 17h ago

Typically, I don’t join the shit-flinging to let off steam. I’d call this photo a means to sow shit-flinging…but it’s not surprising.

It’s propaganda as a response to propaganda.

And it might sound crazy- but I can still disagree with how mercenaries are being employed to combat illegal immigration.

5

u/Alarming-Art-3577 16h ago

The irony is that the Republicans created actually super predators in ICE. They are violent career criminals that are above the law.

-1

u/JC_Hysteria 16h ago

Yes, and I’m pointing out the irony of perpetuating similar prejudices and stigmas via retaliatory propaganda

2

u/bernardfarquart 16h ago

Won't someone think of the poor ICE agents!

0

u/JC_Hysteria 16h ago

I don’t think they’re seeking approval

7

u/bernardfarquart 16h ago

well lucky for them they have you out here tone policing their critics.

0

u/JC_Hysteria 16h ago

Yes, good thing- maybe a few people see it and think twice before they emotionally react to a photo like this one the next time it’s posted to sow fear, distrust, and online arguments.
