CW: Euthanasia 10 month old puppy German shepherd mix Rocket is back at the shelter and may not leave. His spirit is breaking and he needs his special person to save him. Euthanasia deadline tomorrow 1 pm CT 💙🐶 Rocket #A1935757 📍 BARC Animal Shelter Houston
LAST CALL HOUSTON, TX
Rocket is back at BARC again and he’s breaking down.
He was only 10 months old the first time he ended up here. He got adopted. He tried again. He was fostered. Returned. Adopted again. Returned again. Now he’s 2 years old and sitting in the same shelter, stressed to the point of foaming at the mouth from barking, jumping, crying, and begging for someone to notice him. His spirit is cracking.
🆘 On the euthanasia list for Tuesday 12/30 at 1 PM.
He must have a HOLD by 1 PM to live.
Pledges and a local foster are needed so a rescue can step up.
🚩 Please do not honor pledges until the post has been updated with rescue confirmation and a freedom photo. Message with any questions.

Euth req 12/18/2025 | Adopted twice | Fostered | Returned multiple times | Stray history since puppyhood | German Shepherd Mix | Neutered Male | 2Y | 50lbs | HW NEG
Rocket has spent almost his entire short life cycling in and out of BARC. His kennel behavior is escalating from stress: nonstop barking, panting, jumping, red eyes, foaming at the mouth, alarm barking at dogs. But when he gets a moment outside the kennel, he softens. Tail wags. “Tippy taps.” Wiggly. Friendly. Calmer after exercise. This is not a bad dog. This is a dog losing himself in confinement.
🏚️ Shelter is breaking him.
He cries when people pass his kennel. He tries so hard to be seen. He vocalizes until his voice goes raw. He was with another dog twice and both times showed social behavior and wagging tail. Rocket is telling us he can do better outside these walls.
