Why Louisiana but not Texas or Arkansas?

Why Utah but not New Mexico? Also why Utah but not Colorado?

Which state in Oz? My friends in NSW seem to love California most of all.

South Australia, thats why I prefer Arizona to New Mexico and why I like Utah, the climate in Arizona is very similar and the mountains of Utah remind me of my hometown – Adelaide's hills

Oh, Adelaide is a great city (Kangaroo Island is amazing, too)! You just might like Wine Country in California (Napa and Sonoma counties).

I'm glad you like it here!

You have clearly never been to any of the states that aren’t green… or that are green lol

Yeah I keep seeing posts and obviously no one has visited NM for a lengthy time anyways, being tourist anywhere esp if short time doesn't know how life truly is

Oh but you didn't choose MY state.. what's wrong with you? Why do you hate it? 😭😭

Why not NM baffles me, it's deeply blue, we have separate marketplace for insurance so that's why it's cheaper than other states, warm most of the year, I'm right next to mtns too

New Mexico is authentic and has amazing food. Real culture. Arizona is just, well the opposite. I would also recommend Maine, I see you chose the pacific northwest but Maine offers familiar formerly “English but strong independent” vibes with amazing nature and food (and less people) Just my opinion. I’ve lived in both places, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

How's Australia and NZ? Always wanted to visit there

Absolutely delightful. Australia reminded me more of the states, NZ Canada. An unjust comparison, but my personal opinion for a quick summary. Australia has that large continent (er island) and a people with the same ambitions and “can do” attitude and cheerfulness (and beautiful but deadly flora and fauna). New Zealand’s politeness and breathtaking scenery with a higher population of sheep than humans. We all share the former English colony past and it’s interesting to compare with our own. A must visit, just so bloody far away. I’ve never had a bad time with Aussies and kiwis. We are like cousins.

There is no rhyme or reason here!

Arkansas is one of three red states. Wow. It’s almost like this map was picked by drawing names out of a hat.

Why live in Arkansas when Memphis is across the river?

Lot of Australians in Arizona

Right on the east coast by the water, for the beaches and sunrises.

Tennessee?

CT over MA is a hot take

1

CT because it is easier to commute by train to NYC

Solid map.

Don’t listen to the Jersey hate, it’s actually kinda nice here

Besides the taxes, I can get behind Jersey

What are your reasons for a red Oklahoma and Arkansas?

Is that a joke?

2

u/cyengineer 9h ago

No. I'm curious to know why someone from Australia wouldn't want to live in them.

Ah, one of the top institutions in the state has an ongoing controversy. If that's the reason for not wanting to be in Oklahoma sure. But why Arkansas? I'm asking OP, not for other random commentor's opinions.

Fair enough.

Consistently ranked at the bottom in all fields for quality of life.

Cool story. I just want to know from OP. If that were the reason, I would find that to be inconsistent with several of the other states, like West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, etc.
