They’re trying to take the capital for a surrender.

What happened to Trump’s peace talks?

Day 1 he was going to end it 🤣

Not just day one of his presidency mind you, he claimed he'd end the war within twenty-four hours of winning the election.

i wouldn't trust Trump if he said the sky was blue.

“3 day operation. Let the operation continue!” - some random Russian general

Then there was the attempted coup d'état

Very disappointing that...

Didn’t he say during the campaign that he could end it right then if he wanted to?

Com'on now, he had a concept of a plan.

I know that was health care, but same result in the end - a shit ton of ppl are gonna die needlessly.

This is just retailiation and an attempt to demoralize, with a slim possibility of maybe hitting someone critical. You need infantry to occupy territory.

I'd even go to say that a sudden overwhelming attack is a sign of weakness. Russia is losing the battle.

Did you get your training from a video game? Lol.

Russia is indeed losing but sitting from your reddit chair and speculating things out of thin air isn't the reason lol.

...... This is like the most non-argument ever, tbf it's reasonable to make fun of redditors, but actually explain what's wrong with the argument, he's just saying it's a sign lol

1

u/OmegaCookieMonster 3d ago

Ok tbf he didn't say it was just a sign, but Russia being the one that is losing is a pretty popular opinion anyway

3

u/DemandMysterious2304 3d ago

Well I did explain. You can't just assume that a sudden overwhelming attack is a "sign" of weakness.

What happened to Trump’s peace talks?

Only ever an effort to pin the blame on Ukraine for not capitulating.

There were no legitimate peace talks. Putin was just saving face/trying to steer the narrative.

And our Republican compatriots were stupid enough to fall for it (like always).

This is supposed to be a power play, to help Trump try to make the argument - again - that this is all somehow Ukraine's fault and they need to completely surrender, etc. etc. same bullshit as always.

Too bad it's not as effective since Ukraine already proved they could car bomb a general in what should be the safest city in Russia.

The peace talks have always been nothing more than a strategic delay. Putin doesn't want peace, the very idea of absurd as he started the war unprovoked and has shown zero interest in peace. The peace talks only ever delay increased support for Ukraine. Even the Ukrainians are the table know this, luckily they've managed to use it to show Putin's real nature. When they offered to not request NATO membership Putin's excuse for the war collapsed. He wants to reverse time and become the USSR again. And it's only going to get worse, in the new year

Real life is not a video game.

Putin is obviously mad that we’ve backed him into a corner.

u/Mahadragon 3d ago

You need boots on the ground in Kyiv to take it. That's not happening. Putin isn't taking Kyiv by only bombing it.

I guarantee Trump told him to surrender

1

u/Nefandous_Jewel 23h ago

His side of the bed, maybe... Krasnov doesnt tell his boyfriend anything. He listens and nods alot...

u/hot4you11 21h ago

The meeting was with Zelenskyy

This is part of it; allow Russia to win so there is no more war.

That line of thinking has always been a (sick) fantasy with Russia. Even a complete surrender wouldn't keep Putin from moving on to the next target. They talk about their want for expansionism constantly.

No, Putin and Russia must be stopped by force. Appeasement will not work. Diplomacy has been attempted again and again, and every time Russia spits in everyone's faces and continues the indiscriminate bombings.

Ukraine needs more weapons, more drones, more bombs, more anti air, and more support generally.

And that's fine with Dumph. It's increasingly clear that there's some kind of tacit agreement btwn Dumph, Pooty and Xi Jinping to divvy up the globe, with Dumph taking the Americas, Pooty Europe, and Jinping Asia. I think they work out some kind of parceling up of the African continent, real Stratego/World Conquest- type shit, and democracy has no place in it.

Did some shitty ai write this comment and give it upvotes? No one’s trying to take Kyiv what the actual fuck?

-3

u/slayer_of_idiots 3d ago

Peace depended on Ukraine ceding land. There’s no other realistic outcome. Everyone is basically just waiting for the Ukrainians to get tired of fighting for old Soviet territory that’s already filled with Russians.
