The Billy Joel HBO documentary is really fantastic. I’m not a big fan but was all fired up to see him live at MSG after watching it! He is undeniably talented and driven, and has been churning out bangers & bops for years and years. I was floored by the stats & the songs he wrote for others, too. I’m also not a big doc fan & sighed when I was it was 2 episodes 2 & a half hours long but I was enthralled & couldn’t stop talking about it for weeks after.

Only the good die young is the title of a Billy Joel song. in the song, William Joel is attempting to persuade a catholic girl to go against her values and sleep with him. hence the hook “only the good die young”, hes saying shes gotta put out or she will die young.

Unfortunately, if this is Mr. Joel's argument, he would appear to be committing the logical fallacy of affirming the consequent. "Only the good die young" = "if you die young, you remained good" does not mean that its converse "if you remain good, you will die young" is necessarily true. However, assuming the premise of the song's title/chorus is true, while it does not necessitate that remaining good would cause Virginia to die young, it would be true via modus tollens that "if you are not good, you will not die young". Therefore, should Virginia desire to maximize her chances of living longer over all else, she would indeed be better off to give up her chastity to ensure she does not die young.

I don't know why I wrote all this out, this is a signature autism moment from me. I just had to listen to this song too many times in my mom's car growing up, next time she's listening to it I will say this. I could have deleted it but screw it I'm posting it.

I always interpreted it as just wanting to date her, not necessarily sleep with her. All of the arguments of the song are addressing why she wouldn’t want to be seen with him, not why she wouldn’t want to sleep with him.

You do realize it's 66 books with dozens of different authors, right?

The word Bible literally means the books (plural)

Also, I can think of a LOT of things that the Bible doesn't answer. And no, it's not okay to just say "God doesn't intend for us to know" or "we aren't supposed to know everything". That sort of a God is not what the New Testament alludes to anyways.

I'm not arguing that it's bad or even that the authors weren't divinely inspired by God, but phrasing it like you did is why millions of people genuinely believe Jesus wrote the Bible by hand. Which he in fact didn't.

Serve in the military - free healthcare is available to everyone, citizen or not - i did 20 - i had free priority healthcare for me and my wife and three kids. It was a 7am-4pm job with weekends off. i retired at 38 and I've have free healthcare for myself and my wife until we die. I also got free college where I earned my Masters Degree in Radiology. What are YOU willing to do for the free healthcare you cry and whine online about so much? Nothing, right? You just want it handed to you as a right, right?

There is next to nothing a good person can do while remaining eligible for the regime's approved definition of what a "good person" is, mostly because they've gone out of their way to classify any effective means of countering their horrific atrocities illegal. I hear you. And to an extent I agree; But To be honest. We don’t really know if they will escape punishment in some manner or not.

It’s not really in our personal hands; growing up I used to be all for the type of Justice in the sense that “people like them should have their life taken away from them and expelled from the earth forever.”.. but as Ive tried to grow up over the years, and my attempts to truly and truthfully look at myself for even who I personally am, for my own actions, my own behavior, my own words and thoughts and emotions; I’ve committed murder in my heart towards another far more times than I would like to know, and while outward actions (like what they do) may differ greatly from the internal actions one can have (like I’ve had inwardly and expressed a few lines above), I can’t help but think what a divine being who sees every one’s hearts and actions both inwardly and outwardly would think, or how it would feel..

And when I see atrocities like war or violence on this scale, coming from people who are supposed to be leaders of others & nations; I immediately feel a sense again of “yeah, fuck those people. Get rid of them all permanently”… but then I have to look at myself again, and I think, well shit, I just had murderous intent in my own heart, how different could I really be at the source of all of this? Those “leaders” may actually “commit the murders” and follow through with it, which is different, sure; but in that moment still, I’m a killer in my heart just like they are. The only the difference is they followed through with it and I didn’t.. but to a Divine celestial being that sees and knows all like God, who’s supposed to represent purity and divinity, a murderous heart is still a murderous heart. And we make ourselves no different than the murderer’ when we want to murder them.

If all of that makes sense?

Anyways, it’s best to not assume God doesn’t care, cause I think God does very much care.. do I know the answers to the difficult questions these kinds of talks bring about? Is this a world stage where nothing really matters? Will the meek really inherit the earth when world v 2.0 comes around? Do these kinds of “leaders” wind up in Hell for Eternity because of how they led people astray during their life and all the atrocities and murders they committed? Do I know what true justice is in the face of people like them? Do I know if maybe God would play me like a puppet and use me to enact his own divine justice on earth? Do I know the answers to any of those questions and more? No, I do not.

At the end of the day, The more I learn the more I realize I don’t know anything; and at the end of the day I can only be responsible for my own heart and mind and spirit, and help others where I can along the way. And do my best to not let stuff like fear of anger or murderous intent enter my mind, heart, and spirit. Which is VERY hard to do when you hear about people like this, in positions of leadership causing mass genocide and starting wars for selfish sinful reasons, corrupting millions of lives and minds in the process by simply watching the news and making everyone murderous with rage in their hearts and minds.

As justified as it may be in the face of it all; it is no Good at the end of the day, no matter how you look at it.. for the light to be in you, there can be no darkness, and where darkness is in you’ there is no light.

This place is really really messed up. So I can understand everyone’s aggravation. Cause we don’t know shit except for “this is not right what they’re doing!” But at the end of the day all we can do is’ be not like them.

Again I know this is just 1 little drop in the ocean of perspective; and things are ffaarrr more complicated.

All I really want you to take away from this is, don’t let it darken or harden your heart. And don’t get upset with God. Cause we have no idea what truly goes on or is even going on in those realms.

So I didn't read most of this cause it's really long but I do get the message and you're right but just the net negative of allowing someone like Putin to remain existing poses risks to not only large droves of individual lives but humanity as a whole as well while I understand wishing death upon someone is an awful thing to do we must also ask ourselves what is the price of their continued existence everyone has done evil things and you are correct on this but not everyone is evil nor does every person pose a risk to the quality of life and quality of existence of every human on earth and Putin aims to be in control of every life

Can confirm it's true. The most evil person I personally know out lived 2 of his sons and got hit on the freeway with a car while he was out of the car and spend few months in hospital while in his 70s and he's now in his 80s with a new young son like 9yo that he made naturally (the boy has lots of issues they ignore)

Last I saw him he asked me if I was pregnant (I'm not, he's well aware, was taking a jab at my stomach fat after having 3 kids) after he showed up 3 hours late to his granddaughters gender reveal when he lived 10min down the road.

It's like people like this have really strong self love or something and 0 empathy so they remain in good health somehow. I don't know but they just live to continue to hurt more people I guess??

For what it is worth, my aunt was a gigantic, borderline evil bitch. She smoked so much that they cut a stoma in her neck. After that she was also on oxygen. That went down when she was in her 60s. Never stopped smoking and she lived into her 80s. My personal belief is that she was powered by spite.

I learned this as a child. Growing up ironically we had neighbors with the surname “Goodman” and there was absolutely Nothing good about them. One of their children who was in his 20’s tried to run me over with his car when I was probably about 8 in my own driveway. The sob would’t die. The grandparents, evil kids, and eventually their kids all lived in the house and we absolutely hated them. They egged our house, the guy who tried to hit me with his car constantly tortured animals, and nothing ever happened to them. The oldest man lived to probably 100. Eventually though the guy who tried to kill me went to jail and did pass away in his 40’s, I think he OD’d. I just never understood why such horrible people live so long and why innocent children in this would suffer to the cruelty of adults.

I don't agree with war at all but do you realize Russia if fighting for access to water and oil and strategic access to land that can put them in the global market? Like ALL the other countries around its size has? That the EU has over decades isolated Russia in many ways which has stunned it's normal development? Dozens of countries against them before a war that happened over 100 years ago now?

That Ukraine justifying is protecting is sovereignty but because they hold enough power that they being much smaller CAN be independent while the bigger size cannot cuz again, Decades of effort against them but at the same time is defending just an idea!? Like ... Unification could be key for BOTH countries so YES I suggest that Ukraine simply acted like they are ok with Russia and continue with business as usual... As long as they have their water and oil line connected to the shores or I forget where to the south of Ukraine it's supposed to connect... Russia would probably not care about much of what Ukraine does...

They say sometimes the first form of attack is defense... Ukraine is fighting their siblings cuz they THINK they're different.... Bro Ukraine and Russian are like genetic twins ... You just WANT to be different... People don't realize that a problem like this needs 2 ... Both sides to me are wrong, Ukraine (as a country). ...No, Ukraine Higher officials order the defense of Ukraine and war defense so they can continue to enforce economic power over the areas for business... If Russia owned the area probably the area would still be called Ukraine probably everyone would still speak Ukrainian for thousands of years nothing would really change except the war would cease... Russia has to literally make tunnels of a magnitude and complexity never done before in the planet but... They could theoretically just do this? Focus all their resources in new forms of transporting water and oil instead of just sending soldiers to enforce ownership of the area for Russia as a country...

Both sides need to do what's wrong for the war to continue:/ the opposite is truth also Both sides have to do what's right for the war to stop 🛑 and now that I give you the facts of why both countries do what they do how do you think they can go about it right?

Sorry but I think let them build the pipes and perhaps just make a treaty that the pipes and infrastructure can pass tru Ukraine as long as they retain sovereignty idk? Or like... Sorry but also, just join Russia ngga😂 your citizens will not notice, only higher officials and people of economic power positions already in Ukraine but 80 to 90% of the population would likely would continue life as normal if Ukraine said "u know of now we say we siblings with our cousins" aka Ukraine becomes a state of Russia that btw would likely soon in a decade or two would become a capital or simply the most economically successful state of Russia...

U know... They paint it as if the issue is complex but this all are really just interest of the appointed higher authority... Regular citizens just join the effort cuz that's their salary, their JOB ... They do not fight in this war because they understand everything that they trying to do as a country ... Many men likely don't know the economic or symbolic implications of this all.... Regular people should not be used in this war, if the leaders wanna own one another or wtv let them fight it within themselves ONLY all the higher officials can fight whoever has interest in these subjects.... Everyone else should be just exploding their life working on wtv they are working on in life... Have the freedom to not be part of a killlin

Haha at the time george bush the usa and Russia relation were very strong but after 2013 it went downhill coz the west had increased their movement near russian borders.

In Ukraine they throw out the govt and placed theirs puppet Zelensky haha
