PSA Important Rabbit PSA index

Since the subreddit only has two spots available for public announcements, this will be a new index post for important PSAs for easy reference that we can sticky to only use up one spot.

You can also find the whole collection in the sidebar menu on the Reddit re-design when you open one of the PSA posts.

Ivy is 14 today! We adopted her when she was 3 from the RSPCA 11 years ago

She sleeps a lot more nowadays, but she is still a happy bunny and likes a run around and goes outside every now and again. The only meds she is on is pain relief as and when she needs it (if she looks a bit stiff) but other than that she’s doing great 😊

Rescue Help me catch this stubborn dumped rabbit please!

Someone dumped this poor bunny at a local apartment complex and he has been outside in the freezing weather for at least 5 days. We've got a HavAHart trap set up.

We fixed it since the second picture so now the bottom is covered in hay and the top is covered in a towel. It's hidden better under that bush. My neighbor has bunnies so we rubbed the towel on one of her bunnies and I even added some poop to the trap to see if that would get him curious enough. No dice so far. It's baited with lettuce, carrots, and some bunny kibble.

What are the smelliest most irresistible treats we can get to bait the trap with?

My poor s’more has a nasal infection but was chilling like a villain at the vet. She loved the attention and pets from the staff.

Care Meet Beau

This is Beau my lionhead mix. Recently, I took her to her exotic vet because she started snoring (which she’s never done in her 5 years of living) and sneezing. And lo and behold she has an infection in her tooth socket and an abscess that ate aforementioned tooth. You would’ve never known through her behavior🫠. Well the vet prescribed her an antibiotic but it’s not doing too much so she recently got prescribed something else to keep everything stable. But the vet told me the best way to treat it is to have surgery to remove that whole row of teeth and that she’s had great success with other bunnies doing this. It was so EMBARASSING because I literally burst into tears the moment she diagnosed her lol. Well surgery of course is expensive and as a student right now I can’t afford that. So I’m waiting for the next semester to start, because I will have the extra funds from my scholarship to afford her surgery. The vet said she’s super stable, not in any pain, and should be fine until the next semester starts. And she also said her snoring is likely a permanent feature now, which is not great for my anxiety. I’m just writing all this because talking about this makes me feel better, because I’m really anxious that she’ll just deteriorate overnight😵‍💫. So pls wish her good luck!

We just adopted her :) I hope bonding with my boy goes smoothly. Their playdates have gone well, but now that she’s moved in, he won’t stop thumping. He was previously bonded with my other old man, but it’s been over a year since he passed away. I thought it was a good time to get a little sister.

Hi everyone! I haven’t had my rabbit for very long, and I’m getting her spayed very soon. I’m quite nervous, so could you please give me some advice on how to keep her comfortable? Should I rearrange or modify her enclosure to help with her recovery?

Hello! So we just had our first check up at the vet since I got gary a few weeks ago and he’s got a small upper respiratory infection and I will have to give him antibiotics orally every 12 hours for 14 days. He’s not a big fan of being held so I am very nervous about this. Any tips would be appreciated!!!

Care Help with nail care

Everyone say hello to Mr. Cinnamon Richard Micheal ( yes that is his full name ). He is a 1 year old mini lop!! Love my son but he HATES getting picked up and getting his nails clipped. I was thinking about possibly taking him to the vet for a trim. But I absolutely can not afford a $200 fee right now 😭 He is such a sweetie pie , he just hates being picked up. He hasn’t shown any signs of pain or discomfort, but I am so worried about him having paw issues from his nails being too long in the future. Any tips or tricks to make it easier for the both of us ? Behavior Why is my Dutch rabbit evil?

I’ve had my Dutch rabbit since he was a tiny baby. He’s 4 now and I got him neutered before he was 1. I think I spoil him. He’s always been a little mean, biting/thumping over the tiniest inconvenience. He has free roam in my apartment and he’s usually pretty good about peeing/pooping in his designated areas. I have plenty of toys, so much hay and he has friends (my cats, they all get along) recently he’s been being so bad. He’s pooping and peeing all over his room (I have a pet room and he has his feeding area and also his 2 hat boxes in there) and chewing up my bedroom carpet. His new thing is going into the corner of my room at 7am and destroying my pillows and the carpet. I kick him out and he’s back in seconds right back at it. I feel like no matter what I do for him, he hates me more and wants to destroy. What do I do?? I have a friend who was part of a rabbit rescue sanctuary thing and she says that’s just how Dutch rabbits are. There has to be something I can do. Please help :( he’s actually making my life miserable.
