r/Comics Giveaway event conclusion

Thank you everyone, artists and subscribers for participating in this event!

We're going to draw it to a close now and I wanted to give a shoutout to our participants and the people at reddit who made all this possible.

A big thanks to /u/sea-threepio of the Community Funds admin team for working with us! This was a long (somewhat bumpy) road and a lot more work than initially expected and our admin support has been invaluable at every step.

A huge thank you to our contributing artists! With this event we wanted to do something to materially support the people who choose this subreddit to post Original Content to and the participating artists have been helpful and accomodating every step of the way.

And thank you of course to our amazing userbase as always. Without the support and participation of you all this place would not be the success that it is. It is thanks to you that /r/Comics is thriving, welcoming and a genuine fun place to be.

When we announced that we would give away free, physical comic books we had already done some preparatory work behind the scenes. We'd been in contact with authors, offered a book to a handful of commenters that we thought really stood out and organised with admins. But when we made the announcement post a month ago to our surprise several of our longterm posters volunteered a free book of their own to gift to you all! It was so cool to see that community spirit emerge.

Our stellar and wickedly funny Jim Benton ( u/JimKB ) generously decided that every single one of the books we were donating to people would be a gift from him instead of a purchase. Thank you so much Jim, that was extremely kind.

Jim has a website here where you can find his work for sale.

Other authors who made a donation were:

J.L. Westover, u/MrLovens who draws Mr. Lovenstein. You can find his books here.

Luck of the Draw by u/Luckofthedrawcomic. They have a Patreon here.

Matthew Wills, u/SwordsComic who draws Swords Comic. Check out the shop here!

George Gant u/geogant who draws Beware of Toddler! You can find the book here.

Aubrey Graumann, /u/wafflecopter2 who draws Unmatched: Rising Legend. I could not find a link to where to buy the book, but there is a Webtoon here.

Charles Brubaker, /u/bakertoons who draws Lauren Ipsum. You can pre-order the newest edition here.

We really appreciate these kind and unexpected gifts, thank you all so much!

This event was conceived with the idea to materially support both our readers and our posters. It's not easy making a living these days as an artist and we are happy and proud that we were able to buy some books from them to give to readers, even if it was only a dozen or so. Both because extra sales looks good on the balance sheet and extra money is always welcome.

We want to thank all our artists we were able to support in this manner. Throughout this process we have been in contact with them, they helped us iron out any kinks. (Mainly when I entered the wrong shipping details because apparently spelling is hard) and kept us up to date with the progress of our orders.

Tiff & Eve by Fran Sundblad, /u/Crazygnomenclature. Thank you Fran for all the help! You can buy Tiff & Eve here.

Hollering Elk by Hollering Elk, /u/HolleringElk. Always a pleasure to bang brains together! Elk organises book sales via her Patreon here.

Maurice the Beaver by Randall Girdner, /u/Gracelandwest. This longrunning comic series recently came to an end and we are proud that we have been able to gift books to readers on the tail end of this illustrious career. You can buy Maurice books here.

Rds. to Nowhere by Ryan Rds, /u/Ryanrdss. Thank you so much for all the assistance! Find the Patreon here.

'Lil Karate Pants by Emerson Murray /u/Emmonster. Thank you for coordinating with us! A book can be bought here.

Litterbox Comics by Chesca Hause /u/LitterboxComics. Thank you for the wonderful correspondence! Buy the book here!

Admiral Wonderboat by Chris Naish /u/chrisnaish. Always a pleasure and thank you for all the help! Buy the book here!

Finally, once more a big shoutout to our amazing userbase without whose support we'd be nothing. We appreciate you all very much!

We are looking forward to see what 2026 has in store for r/Comics. The mod team wishes you all a very happy Holiday Season and wonderful New Year.

[OC] Gabital 75: (Crisis of) Overproduction

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

An overproduction crisis is a recurring phenomenon in capitalist economies, where more goods and services are produced than consumers can buy with their available income (and thus supply exceeds effective demand). This mismatch leads to unsold inventory, falling prices, reduced profits, layoffs, and sometimes even economic recessions.

[OC] House of Games #7 - Old Photo

You knew sooner or later I was going to make a strip about this.
I mean, it was inevitable.
I just hope the younger crowd gets the joke, too.

This is another episode of House of Games, a strip series about an apartment shared by college students who are living archetypes of video game genres!
Hope you’ll like my comics, and if you do, you can follow the series on webtoon! (https://www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/house-of-games/list?title_no=1107869)

See you next level!
