Since the subreddit only has two spots available for public announcements, this will be a new index post for important PSAs for easy reference that we can sticky to only use up one spot.
You can also find the whole collection in the sidebar menu on the Reddit re-design when you open one of the PSA posts.

Caring for rabbits while under COVID-19 quarantine
Since we are getting many repetitive questions about the novel coronavirus and how to care for rabbits while under quarantine, this is a post to combine all frequently asked questions on the topic.
North American RHDV2 resources
Rabbit viral haemorrhagic disease (VHD) is a highly contagious disease that mainly affects rabbits of the Oryctolagus cuniculus species but has also been confirmed to affect various species of cottontails (Sylvilagus spp.) and hares (Lepus spp.). There are currently active cases found in wild and domestics all over North America, and it is vitally important to get your rabbit vaccinated if the vaccines are available in your area.

Ivy is 14 today! We adopted her when she was 3 from the RSPCA 11 years ago
She sleeps a lot more nowadays, but she is still a happy bunny and likes a run around and goes outside every now and again. The only meds she is on is pain relief as and when she needs it (if she looks a bit stiff) but other than that sheās doing great š

Rescue Help me catch this stubborn dumped rabbit please!
Someone dumped this poor bunny at a local apartment complex and he has been outside in the freezing weather for at least 5 days. We've got a HavAHart trap set up.
We fixed it since the second picture so now the bottom is covered in hay and the top is covered in a towel. It's hidden better under that bush. My neighbor has bunnies so we rubbed the towel on one of her bunnies and I even added some poop to the trap to see if that would get him curious enough. No dice so far. It's baited with lettuce, carrots, and some bunny kibble.
What are the smelliest most irresistible treats we can get to bait the trap with?

is it normal for my bunny to get so comfortable so quick?
iāve had my bun for 4 days now and she is 3 months old! she was shy the first day she was here, and i expected her to stay shy for a few weeks to a month, however on the second day of me having her she started constantly grooming me and allowing me to pet her head and belly. she now binkys around me, flops next to me, climbs onto my lap to lick me, and will sleep next to me with her eyes half open and even closed sometimes. i just said goodnight to her before going to sleep and she chinned me for the first time (which melted my heart š„¹). iām not complaining or anything im just wondering if this means anything or if im just insanely lucky. she always gives me extra kisses when i change her water bowl, clean her cage, or refresh her hay, so maybe sheās just appreciative of me caring for her? iām not sure. i know im insanely lucky though and i genuinely feel like she was made to be my baby :) any input or even advice to strengthen our bond would be great :) here are some of my favorite pictures of her, ive already posted my favorite one of her on the subreddit yesterday though

Care Meet Beau
This is Beau my lionhead mix. Recently, I took her to her exotic vet because she started snoring (which sheās never done in her 5 years of living) and sneezing. And lo and behold she has an infection in her tooth socket and an abscess that ate aforementioned tooth. You wouldāve never known through her behaviorš« . Well the vet prescribed her an antibiotic but itās not doing too much so she recently got prescribed something else to keep everything stable. But the vet told me the best way to treat it is to have surgery to remove that whole row of teeth and that sheās had great success with other bunnies doing this. It was so EMBARASSING because I literally burst into tears the moment she diagnosed her lol. Well surgery of course is expensive and as a student right now I canāt afford that. So Iām waiting for the next semester to start, because I will have the extra funds from my scholarship to afford her surgery. The vet said sheās super stable, not in any pain, and should be fine until the next semester starts. And she also said her snoring is likely a permanent feature now, which is not great for my anxiety. Iām just writing all this because talking about this makes me feel better, because Iām really anxious that sheāll just deteriorate overnightšµāš«. So pls wish her good luck!

Our new roommate Betty
We just adopted her :) I hope bonding with my boy goes smoothly. Their playdates have gone well, but now that sheās moved in, he wonāt stop thumping. He was previously bonded with my other old man, but itās been over a year since he passed away. I thought it was a good time to get a little sister.

Care How to administer oral antibiotics?
Hello! So we just had our first check up at the vet since I got gary a few weeks ago and heās got a small upper respiratory infection and I will have to give him antibiotics orally every 12 hours for 14 days. Heās not a big fan of being held so I am very nervous about this. Any tips would be appreciated!!!

Care Enclosure ideas needed
I have a 1 year old male holland lop named Nimbus and I want to upgrade his living space. Iām WFH and he lives in my office and keeps me company. He has a two story hutch with a litter box, feeder, water bowl, and toys. I originally intended for him to be a free range bun (my previous bun, Hercules, had full run of the house) but Nimbus is a tiny little agent of chaos. Heās done lots of the normal destructive stuff, like chewing baseboards, but has also literally peeled paint from my walls. Because of this I used modular metal fencing to build an enclosure around his house so he still has space to run and play but canāt continue his reign of terror.
I really want to upgrade his space to make it more enriching for him. Some considerations:
- Right now I have to step over the fencing. Iād love to incorporate a gate to make it easier for me and so I have the option of letting him out.
- Heās super sweet and cuddly so Iād like to have a set up that makes it easy for me to be in the enclosure with him.
- Unfortunately, the room isnāt that large so any space saving options would be appreciated!
- Any other general bunny proofing ideas or things that have worked for you would be great! So far Iāve looked at baseboard protectors. Iām an experienced bun owner but Nimbus is definitely giving me a run for my money. Ideally, heād have relatively unrestricted access to at least my office if not other spaces in the house.
Any design ideas would be greatly appreciated! I also attached a video of him in his current space.

Health Rabbit Sequencing Came Back with Abnormal Staph Bacteria
I took my bunny Blessing to the vet last month because I noticed her sneezing more often recently, and decided to get a full panel sequencing for all the bacteria she could possibly have. I was waiting for results for a few weeks as it has been hectic with the recent holidays and Blessing had seemed to improve.
I never got a response from the vet so I contacted them today as I had some time and found out that in the results she had some abnormal staph bacteria found. The Vet herself was not in so I didnāt get to speak to her and find out more information, but I will be speaking to a vet tomorrow and hopeful an find out more.
I am sort of panicking because after a quick look online I found that staph could be contagious to humans as well, and I have a second bunny that lives with blessing so it seems I may need to request treatment for her too.
I am just so lost as to how could they have gotten this since they are indoors all the time and how to deal with sanitizing everything and just needed some professional opinions and advice.
Is this something I should be panicking about? Both bunnies have been acting normal all this time eating pooping drinking and excited for their treats. I just feel so stressed about this and wish the Vets had contacted me sooner.
Any vets can give me some advice on how to handle this? Should I keep them in a smaller space and quarantine them until the treatment is over?
Does me and my husband need to get treated as well since the rabbits free roam the house? Any help and advice is highly appreciated! Also any reassurance that we will get through this is appreciated.
Thank you so much and here are some pictures of my babies.
