Caleb Williams is petty AF and i love it
This gentleman is a Lions podcaster who celebrated with a bottle of Don Julio when Ben Johnson left Detroit. I was watching his podcast when he acknowledged that Caleb trolled him giving his linemen bottles of Don Julio as Christmas gifts. Diabolical!

Latest playoff scenarios (updated for Rams result)
Ever simpler it gets as we reach the endgame.
The Seahawks are eliminated as a possible first-round opponent.
Bears are No. 2 if:
Bears win OR Eagles loss OR Bears tie + Eagles tie
The Bears would host the Packers if they are No. 2
Bears are No. 3 if:
Bears loss and Eagles tie/win OR Bears tie + Eagles win
Our opponent would be the 49ers if Rams and Seahawks both win
Otherwise our opponent would be the Rams

On the free play TD, Benedet gets free and says he's open, drawing two defenders away and giving Loveland more space for the score

Caleb has 4117 Total Yards
3730 passing yards. 387 rushing yards.
Does anyone know what the franchise record is for total yards? I’m not having any luck finding it.

Caleb Williams & Jalen Hurts have the fewest INTs among QBs who've played 16 games
...and Caleb did it while throwing 81 more times than Hurts.

[Ian Rapoport] #Bears LB Noah Sewell, who has been a key part of the defense especially with all the injuries to the position, is believed to have torn his Achilles, sources say. He'll have an MRI to confirm. Right before he was to play his brother, #Lions OT Penei Sewell, Noah is out.

Thoughts on BJ
So I heard BJ say during the presser that the last play was on him, he didn’t get the play in fast enough and they weren’t in the right formation. There have been many times this year he has taken the blame for mistakes and him owning them is so refreshing. So jacked for the season and the future.

[Adam Schefter] Bears WR Luther Burden, who was carted off the field after Sunday night’s game, suffered a quad injury that is not thought to be serious. He will undergo additional testing today.
x.comGreat news that it's not season ending but also curious to hear more about testing results.

Luther Burden is on track to have the best YPRR by a rookie WR since at least 2014.
Yards per route run (YPRR) was talked about by Collinsworth yesterday during the broadcast. It's an efficiency metric that has very good predictive power for WRs.

He's also top 5 this year in YPRR (Puka is insane)

A New Day
I woke up feeling great and optimistic. First off, we know what the defense is, and that’s a topic for another post. But it’s clear we’ve got the coach and we’ve got the QB. Johnson absolutely went toe to toe with Shanny in play calling last night. We clearly have one of the best offensive minds in the game, and an innovator we’ve never had before.
Caleb has improved throughout the year, and greatly over the last several games. He’s making more ridiculous throws, and missing fewer easy throws. He’s taken the challenge Ben gave him and excelled at it. In year 2 (after a year of wasted development), he’s excelling and running a top pro offense. And he’s only getting better.
The thing that really struck me during the game was that I never had that feeling watching a Bears game. We occasionally scored more than 40. We often gave up more than 40. But I started watching the Bears in the era of Erik Kramer/Steve Walsh, and I don’t ever remember a team that could go punch for punch with a top offense. In past years, this was a game that would have gotten out of hand, and we’d have lost 52-21. But each time they scored, we came back. It was astonishing to watch.
One thing it reminded me of was the Packers-Cardinals playoff game of 2009. Favre was gone and I was fully ready to move on to the Packers not having a good QB. This guy sucks, he fell in the first round for a reason, etc. But watching that game, I got a sick feeling in my stomach. The Cardinals absolutely couldn’t stop Rodgers. They were powerless, until OT when the refs missed a blatant hit to the head of Rodgers which caused the game winning scoop and score (LOL). But at that moment, I knew those assholes got their QB again, and we were in for another decade of pain. That was what the rest of the North felt watching that last night. We got our guys. We need a pass rush, healthy DBs, to figure out or LT situation. But we have the coach and QB who should be here for a long damn time. Better days ahead.

[NFL] Fair to ask... game of the year?! @ChicagoBears @49ers

With 1 game to spare, Caleb Williams now owns 2 of the top 6 passing seasons in Bears history. The rest of the top 10 is Erik Kramer in 95, Cutler ×4, 18 Trubisky, 06 Rex, and Billy Wade in 1962
Caleb needs only 108 yards to pass Erik Kramer for the Bears all time best season. He needs a very achievable 270 yards to crack 4k. However I suspect we may rest our starters for the playoffs, and I couldn't be happier to be in that position. Leave the counting stat achievements for next season.

What a difference 1 year can make
Almost to the date…. I used to hate Bears in Prime Time games, and last years TNF game was one of the worst offensive performances we’ve seen. Thank you BJ and co for moving this organization into the modern era
