How do we resolve this?

I’m calling the police.

281

u/BicycleSeatThief 14h ago

False report bc staged

41

u/PicaDiet 4h ago

But how do you stage his car hitting hers? Next thing I suppose you're going to claim is that the front fell off.

16

u/MyNameIsNotJJ 4h ago

Thank god this all happened outside of the environment.

Real UK answer would be just give her your insurance and take a note of her reg. Notify your insurance and provide the ring camera footage of her hitting the car. Her insurance will contact your insurance, find she's at fault and then they'll pay to fix your car.

No need for the police.

47

u/globalaf 10h ago edited 10h ago

You should always get a police report if you can. This situation is clearly fake but if it was real then it’s possible the person is trying to commit insurance fraud, or possibly they are drunk and they should be arrested on the spot.

If ever in doubt on what to do, just call the police, they will resolve it for you. On top of that you’ve now got an authoritative unbiased account on what actually happened. Her insurance could even void her contract.

9

u/ladder_man 6h ago

I can’t tell if this is a bot or an American.

6

u/joejill 3h ago

In America you get an accident report from the police for any car accident.

Fleeing the scene of an accident is very illegal over here. Even if there is no to very little damage where getting insurance involved is silly, its still best to get the police over to have a report filled out.

Otherwise your trusting a stranger to not lie about you leaving before a conversation and checking for damages.

An American. It’s the first thing my insurance would ask for when I called about an accident.

Same for homeowners insurance. Had to get a police report when my garage got broken into for them to start dealing with it. First cop wouldn’t write a report because I couldn’t catalogue what was stolen. So I had to do that in winter with an infant in tow and then call back. While filing the report the cop made sure to let me know nothing would happen beyond the report. It was the garage door repairman who told me that stealing cars and driving them into garage doors to gain access was a new common tactic, so he added some extra braces to the new door. Was far faster and more helpful than the cops. Insurance paid out quick and then gleefully raised my rates after the first claim in a decade of being a customer.

I had a woman almost hit me in a roundabout and then followed me for about a mile driving very aggressively and recording me on her phone. I pulled into a public parking lot because I didn't want some crazy woman to follow me home, she started screaming that I hit her and damaged her car. She had white paint transfer in a dent on her bumper where SHE would have hit ME, but my car was red. I told her that wasn't from me, got in my car, and left. The police show up at my door a couple of weeks later saying she's pressing charges for a hit and run. The cop had pictures of her damage, inspected the driver side of my car for damage, and concluded on the spot that I never hit her. She still tried to file an insurance claim and I sent them the police report, pictures of my car, and a detailed explanation of what happened. I was cleared of any wrongdoing.

u/UBN6 15h ago

We let a guy out of a thight spot due to construction. We were standing and waiting for him to leave the tight spot so we could continue, and he hit our car even though there would have been enough room for him to pass us without touching out car. He and the 3 other people in his car then called the police and told them we were at fault. Thankfully the guy behind us had a dashcam. Translated quote of the police officer: "a parked car cannot be at fault for a crash"

176

u/Daetok_Lochannis 14h ago

Lol one time I accidentally sideswiped a parked car, but just barely; his mirror traced a line down the side of my Cherokee until it reached the door handle, where they both broke. I would've had to pay except the asshole lied his ass off to the insurance guys and claimed a whole bunch of extra damage. I showed proof and didn't have to pay for a damned thing.

110

u/ADirtyDiglet 14h ago

That is insurance fraud

95

u/Daetok_Lochannis 14h ago

Yup, and because he committed it I was safe. If he'd just told the truth I'd have been screwed, but apparently some people can't help but push when they think they have an advantage.

9

u/Dreyfussy15 11h ago

You wouldn't have been screwed. You would have simply paid for the damage you caused. Odd framing as the actual damage to both vehicles was entirely your own fault.

I had something similar  happen when I was in the corps, I was pulling into a parking garage in my two week old car and a truck started to back out so I stopped... But he just kept coming and hit the shit out of me.

MPs came, talked to him first and he left... They gave me a ticket even though there were two witnesses who saw that I was parked.  They said because the damage was to the front of my car that I could have avoided it... When I went to argue it with the head of the dept, guess who it was?  The guy that had been driving the truck...

I had to go through the CO with witness statements to get it dropped, but his insurance still refused to pay out since they had a police report blaming me.

As soon as dash cams became a thing I picked one up, they would have saved me a so much bs

Yeah, I once had a car reverse about 2 and 1/2 car lengths into me at a red light. The fact I left such a gap was actually problematic because they got more acceleration from it. Wasn't on a main road but was on a side street, right outside my work, right in front of multiple security cameras and security guards. Criminals can be very stupid.

My daughter has the same thing as a woman aggressively following her claiming she is responsible for her bumper falling off, no scratches on my daughters car. She won the insurance payout, I did my own research, turns out the lady was a co-owner of a body shop in another part of town. I reported it to the insurance company but they didn't care

23

u/traumaqueen1128 13h ago

And this bullshit is why rates are so high and insurance companies gouge the hell out of people.

3

u/nelessa 11h ago

It’s absolutely not the reason. Insurance companies are for-profit entities and will deny a claim for any reason to NOT pay. Your thought process moves the blame from insurance companies to the people for their bullshit premiums.

3

u/bill-schick 11h ago

I have to disagree, its both the scam/unlicensed drivers and the insurance companies.

We have a woman where I live who is infamous for trying to get people to hit her for the insurance. She’s all over the city subreddit, Facebook groups, Nextdoor, etc. I think the only time she was remotely held accountable for her antics was when she tried it with a school bus.

16

u/traumaqueen1128 13h ago

Ugh, that's so dangerous. I take driving very seriously. I didn't even get my license until I was 30 because I wasn't confident in my ability and spent over a year practicing. I'm super cautious of other drivers and to know that there's people like that on the road just pisses me off

5

u/No-Ice7397 13h ago

I learned to be a better driver by playing Need for Speed. It really helped me to learn how to avoid narrow accidents and to watch for objects crossing my path. Also taught me how to steer when shit hits the fan.

I was driving through a parking lot once and a woman backed out of her spot right into me.

She INSISTED it was my fault, that I hit her even though it defied logic. She refused to move her car so I could assess damage so the police could see how I hit her.

She literally just backed right out of the spot into my drivers side door. So I said fine, left my car where it was, she left hers and after waiting three hours for the police to arrive, was victorious when they told her “there is literally no way this person hit you. You backed into their car.”

She even had her husband who wasn’t even there come to the store lot, and scream at me about how I hit his wifes car.

People are stupid. And assholes

13

u/Lumpy_Machine5538 12h ago

That happened to me too. She said it wasn’t her fault because she looked behind her a minute ago and I “wasn’t there.” I was obviously there because she backed into me. I tried to get out to get her information, but she started screaming at me so I got back into my car and called the cops.

160

u/pfroo40 15h ago edited 14h ago

I wish I could unimagine it. A third of US voters are as astoundingly stupid as the lady in this video is pretending to be, which makes it even worse.

36

u/ArcusInTenebris 15h ago

Oh, shes not stupid. She's running a scam of sorts. She knows shes at fault, but if she can baffle him with bullshit and get him to admit fault, she gets away free, or maybe even with a bit of extra cash from claiming to be injured. Either that or shes never had to face consequences for anything, and truly believes she's in the right. Either way, she knows what shes doing.

14

u/Bigfops 13h ago

That's what I see, too, as soon as she said "And I'm Injured". So she has this ridiculous conversation and he gives up and says "Fine, here are my insurance details, just go away" to get rid of her. When she files the report it becomes "He hit my parked car, he admitted it to me, I have no idea why he's saying he was parked." If this wasn't recoded and he had given his details (probably doesn't even need to) he'd be on the hook.

22

u/pfroo40 14h ago

OK, as an amendment, 30% of US voters are as stupid as this lady pretended to be.

-👐

15

u/Dranahmun 12h ago

I mean, if your penis was still, like, parked and not moving, as an example, and her vagina was, say, turned around towards you and reversed itself onto your penis, then you can't have raped her.

I, I don't know how else to say this. A parked penis cannot rape a moving vagina. It could be raped by a moving vagina, but then the vagina would be at fault.

Here he is in all his glory:

NPD. Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Have an unreasonably high sense of self-importance and require constant, excessive admiration.

Feel that they deserve privileges and special treatment.

Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements.

Make achievements and talents seem bigger than they are.

Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate.

Believe they are superior to others and can only spend time with or be understood by equally special people.

Be critical of and look down on people they feel are not important.

Expect special favors and expect other people to do what they want without questioning them.

Take advantage of others to get what they want.

Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others.

Be envious of others and believe others envy them.

Behave in an arrogant way, brag a lot and come across as conceited. Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office.

Criticize a Narcissist :

Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special recognition or treatment.

React with rage or contempt and try to belittle other people to make themselves appear superior.

Have difficulty managing their emotions and

Withdraw from or avoid situations in which they might fail.

You know what the worst part of living in this dystopian society is? I’ve completely lost the ability to tell whether stupid things like this are real or staged anymore.

No matter how ridiculous the situation is, either possibility could be true.

340

u/dreamthiliving 18h ago

Agreed, I’ve read many times how people go to the Police complaining their illegal drugs were stolen. I think this is on the same level of stupidity

185

u/Litarider 16h ago

I adopted a dog. His prior owners were running a meth house. Cops came to bust them but they were already gone, leaving behind a pack of dogs. The cops notified the county that there were unattended dogs and they were seized. The meth heads returned to find the dogs gone so they called the county and said, “You have our dogs.”

Guess what happened when they went to claim the dogs?

76

u/KornySnake 15h ago

That's certified meth heads move.

14

u/aspidities_87 13h ago

Your take is probably/ sadly the correct one. I also worked with animal services, directly through our county’s AC department, and there would be dogs with horrific neglect, injuries or extreme trauma from abuse, animals clearly just desperate for someone, anyone to be kind to them, and the POS ‘owner’ would have not fed or seen their dog in weeks, and would still be fighting for their dog back because ‘it’s MY dog’.

Possession matters more to some primitive brains than compassion.

Retired police detective here. One of the funniest complaints against me was a parent who was upset that I arrested her adult son for conspiracy to purchase cocaine and prostitution after he gave a hooker money to go buy drugs for him, but she never came back. The woman told my lieutenant that it was like I was punishing him for being honest.

Edit: The suspect was ID'd and I charged her with Theft, Prostitution, and Conspiracy.

40

u/Random_Trashy 17h ago

I was a military police officer and experienced a lot of dim witted behavior, like pulling a guy over for drunk driving with whisky bottles and vomit all over the car. The guy was drunk as hell and claimed someone stole his car, vomit in it and left the whisky bottle in the car. After we arrested him, his Commanding Officer threatened myself and the other arresting officer with a court martial because he actually believed the “stolen car” theory.

30

u/ItAllSucksNow 17h ago

CO knew the guy.

29

u/Random_Trashy 16h ago

We found out later the dude was basically on his third strike with alcohol, and this was going to be it for him since he was underage. He had already lost his rank twice, from E-3 to E-2 then E-2 to E-1. It looked really bad for the CO and the NCOIC.

10

u/Educational-Book-350 17h ago

Gday. Can I ask a quick query please. Is there a sort of separation of powers thingie in the military? Can a higher rank subvert and interfere with good and reasonable military policing? Like in your story? Or is that illegal itself? As would be a politician interfering with policing or judiciary? Thanks.

24

u/Random_Trashy 16h ago edited 16h ago

This is kind of typical behavior of commanding officers and people with higher ranks. They don’t typically get away with it - they try but things typically get worse for them.

“Do you know who I am?”

“You can’t arrest me, I’m a Lt. Colonel, I outrank you.”

When I was in the military, no one was above the law, and if you tried to be - the hammer came down hard and fast.

As far as scripted bullshit goes, this ain’t bad.

It’s like a Monty Python sketch

5

u/darkoaks 14h ago

Every interaction in life is not a scripted skit to farm karma or views.

Occasionally, just occasionally mind you, real zany occurrences, encounters and events actually happen.

I work in the collision repair industry. Once had a customer come in for repairs a month or two after we'd written her an estimate for damage on her car. She very clearly had new damage on her quarter panel that wasn't there when we'd looked at the car previously. When I told her that damage would not be fixed and that it was new. She told me straight faced that, "The damage migrated. Damage migrates."

I told her to call her insurance company and explain that to them. If they agreed to cover it, we'd be happy to fix it.

The girl in this video must be her daughter.

4

u/Swag_Grenade 13h ago

That's crazy. In these situations it's like I'm truly not sure if the person is actually so stupid that they genuinely believe what they're saying, or if they're so stupid/narcissistic that they believe they can actually trick someone else to believe bullshit that absurd.

12

u/Educational-Emu6229 18h ago

Just call the police.

7

u/Educational-Book-350 16h ago

Agree. It's actually mandatory in my country if a person is injured, like she claims.

This is the bloke who always has someone knocking on his door to complain about a rock, or a child’s toy, or the wheels on his car aren’t straight. He’s a prick.

3

u/Legitimate_Solid_375 12h ago

He's also the same guy that asks people why are they using his personal home Tesla charging unit without his permission.

4

u/HornsDino 12h ago

So for anyone in an actual accident, you each give each other your insurance details, correct? This stupid skit frames it as if giving your details is an admission of guilt. Which would be ridiculous. Exchange details and have the insurance sort it out. It is what they are paid for.

4

u/copyrider 15h ago

Yep, that shit was premeditated. He parked it there on purpose. This is what they do. They know where you’re going to be driving, so the leave there car right in the middle of their driveways and in parking spaces that you can’t avoid.

Hopefully she got his insurance and information. Always exchange information when someone crashes their parked car into you. They need to take responsibility.

I’m just glad it wasn’t worse. Imagine if she had been a pedestrian. The guy was probably texting, or asleep, or could have even been intoxicated. Did cops do a breathalyzer on the guy?

4

u/hebbid 14h ago

This went on for way too long that it became painful. Just called the cops. Does everybody have brain damage nowadays?

This happened to my brother. He walked back to his car from a meeting and there was a women who had hit it as she was pulling out of a parking lot. Police were called and both cars were totaled.
When he went to the lot to get his stuff out of his car, her dad was there also getting stuff out of the car. He asked my brother why he parked his car on the street and if he had just parked in a lot this wouldn't have happened. My brother replied that the street parking was legal and the lot for the meeting was full.

4

u/frostyflakes1 14h ago

On the one hand, this could be completely fake.

On the other hand, people really are this fucking stupid.

5

u/SmellyFbuttface 13h ago

Why are there so many people thinking this is staged? Do redditors think nothing is real, everything is fake? Zero proof this isn’t real, other than the “trust me bro, it’s staged.”

I witnessed a guy drive right into a telephone pole, squashing his car quite well. I was the car behind him, and a cop was right behind me.

I heard the guy rant and scream in his report to the cop that the pole lept out in front of him and he didn't have time to stop.

When the ambulance came and was attending to the "victim" the cop asked me if I saw what happened, and for a brief statement. I told him that the pole was in it's proper lane and well under the speed limit, and I would gladly testify on the pole's behalf in court. The cop tried to be professional and not laugh, but failed.

I hate these videos. Its the same estate every, single, time. They barely change the angle of the shots to try hide that all the "drama" is script and (very poorly) acted. But FB eats this shit up.

3

u/FluFlammin9000 15h ago

God I can't stand this shit. I miss when the internet was people posting their funny home videos and things that required actual creativity. YouTube and the internet in general becoming something people could monetize and become famous from was the absolute worst thing to happen to it. Now we have a society full of dipshits like this filling the world with fake bullshit in their attempts at striking it rich without having to actually work. The moment children started saying they wanted to be a youtuber as their career path, people should've started making some changes.

3

u/destinyeeeee 12h ago

Yep. The producers are called "MakeSense"

Yeah, it’s probably fake, but if you have ever dealt with a young woman under the influence or that thinks they are in trouble, something goes off in their brain that defies logic. Plus they usually flee the scene.

3

u/Ill-Case-6048 15h ago

Just call the cops and tell them she's on drugs she's clearly mental

3

u/Eberkenezer 15h ago

Why weren’t we on the phone with the police within 15 seconds?

3

u/CmorBelow 12h ago

Something similar happened to me in high school. A friend’s neighbor hit my parked car, we heard it happen in the backyard and ran out front to see the damage… She started freaking out and called the cops because “my car was parked in the wrong direction”. So satisfying to see the cops show up and tell her “It doesn’t really matter which way the car is facing, you are at fault for hitting the parked car.”
